My guess is this is a family business. Everyone was very friendly and their work was good, but the delay, then subsequently asking me for more money without a consistent explanation, was surprising. (I wonder if they just started working on it the days before delivery and realized they didn't have the right frame and tried to off load the last minute shipping costs to me)

I brought three vintage posters to this shop a few weeks ago to get framed. In fact, one of the workers on staff pointed out how valuable the posters were. On the original pickup date, they called to let me know that one of the three was not done, because they were waiting for parts to come in. After an extra week of waiting, they returned the final poster with some sort of paint/putty splotched on the last print. I'm assuming they delayed getting the poster back because they were trying to repair it. My irreplaceable print was not only returned behind schedule, but is now ruined. I'm starting to wonder if this is even the original print. The contrast and coloring is off, and given the delay getting the poster back, I wouldn't be surprised to find out that they either ruined the original or sold it off.

My husband & I with my handy little list, went there to stock up on supplies & other stuff. First, they have reorganized & expanded their showrooms , very nice. Everything makes sense & easy to find. If you are not finding something a staff member comes & helps immediately. The owners are great & super knowledgeable. I fully remember why this is one of my favorite supply stores & will remain that way. It's a bit of a drive to get there, but well worth it. Joseph(Joe) is the owner-operator and has a few other people working there, but I always deal with him directly. He's very approachable, he knows the product, he wants to keep a regular customer base, so he has given me great pricing that I can't find anywhere else in Dallas. He's very fair and transparent on both sides of trading. If he can't buy or sell something for the price you want, he will explain why, including what he has invested in it and how he is calculating his pricing. I appreciate the honesty. They have a large inventory and are actively trading a lot. It seems like he is making his money by keeping a lot of activity moving through his store at the best prices in town. He's not trying to make all his daily profit off of big premiums on on a few transactions. I keep looking for other deals in Dallas, but I keep coming back to Uptown because it's the best deal financially and certainly the best service experience I have found to date!
