This is a family friendly, adult night out, or date night spot. We took advantage of the half price bowling and appetizers. We bowled for two hours and had so much fun. We had the friend pickles, mozzarella sticks and pizza. I also enjoyed two mango margaritas. Everything was fresh and delicious.

I came here this past weekend with some friends to have some fun. This place is big with room for many activities you can do. They have bowling on one side where you can rent for an hour or few and there is a bar nearby to order whatever drinks you want. They have the game area where you can play whatever you like. From the claw machine to bumper cars, rock climbing on the side and looks like above the room you can do a obstacle course. You do have to put money on a card to get tokens (pay $2 for a new card) and any tickets you win would be sent to the card so dont need to carry anything. The games were decent some were fun like the shooting game. Other games can be a bit unclear what to do and you essentially lose like the ring toss or the claws (not the best to grab items). They have a restaurant area too with a bar you can sit and relax. It took our server a while to do alot of things. It was 15 minutes before we were seen and given menus, another 15 to get our order and took time for him to get our order and even our receipt. The place wasnt really busy in the restaurant area so was surprised that it took so long for him to come back everytime. I ordered a grown up grill cheese with brisket and tomato soup on the side. I wasnt really a fan of the sandwich it seemed bland or not enough flavor. The soup wasnt anything special and after I ate my stomach started to hurt. Even one of our friends wasnt feeling well after and got sick. I think this place isn't bad if you go for the games and maybe the drinks, but I wouldn't come for the food. Or if anything I would get something else to eat.

This new location of pin stack it's near the rim. We have been to pin stack before but we were super excited to try this place that's closer to us. We went for a girls night, plus +. When we arrived we got cards for the games and were a little confused as the kiosk made it seem like we were charged twice. We did try to ask the front desk about it but she said she couldn't help us and redirected us to the Bowl counter. I needed up checking my bank account and it was fine. We went up to the bar in the back and grabbed drinks and then played some games. We then went to the restaurant to grab food. It was pretty quiet So I thought we would be served pretty quickly. It took about 15-20 minutes for someone to come take our order. Then about 20+ to get our food. Two out of 5 of us got stomach aches and threw up. The main complaint was the taste of the food, and upset stomach. We did visits the prize area and walked away With some cute stuff. Overall I would say come for the games, bowl, and drinks. I didn't get anything big to eat but those who did complained about it. Service in that area was terrible. Everything else was good. As always, judge for yourself.

Team Function

A few months ago, our company organized an employee engagement day at the Pinstack on I-410, and I decided to bring my team to the I-10 location for some fun. I called ahead to inform them that I would be bringing around 20 staff members for lunch and games. While they took my information, no one followed up, and they weren't prepared for our large group on October 7th. Upon arrival, the host appeared puzzled by our reservation, but quickly scrambled to accommodate us. They seated us on the patio, where pesky flies made it difficult to enjoy our appetizers. Our server, Esteban, claimed he could handle a group of 20, but he seemed annoyed when we asked for assistance, even telling a colleague, "He only had 2 legs." Instead of asking for help, he tried to manage on his own. Additionally, he handled the straws before placing them in our drinks, which I find unacceptable and unsanitary. I ordered a variety of appetizers: Chips and Salsa, Mozzarella Sticks, Signature Mac and Cheese Pops (which were bland), and wings in Parmesan, Buffalo, and Korean BBQ flavors (the Korean BBQ and Parmesan were tasty, though slightly burnt). I also ordered a larger Hot Hawaiian pizza for the table, but it turned out doughy and thin. When we tried to slice it, the center caved in. Two of my employees returned their Fish Tacos topped with strawberries, saying they were dry and tasted off with the sweet strawberries. I tasted one, but couldn't connect fish and strawberries and thankfully, Esteban did remove those from the bill. Overall, the food was just okay, so we opted to load up on game cards. However, our host forgot to activate the cards for most of the team, leading to some confusion. Update: Hi Steven, Thank you for reaching out about my recent visit to Pinstack. While I've had many great experiences, I appreciate your willingness to improve for future guests and visits. Your dedication shows and with your leadership, I see a bright future for Pinstack. The location is fantastic, and I can see it becoming my go-to spot. Your passion for leading really shows with your responses, and I believe your team will thrive under your guidance. Thank you very Much Steven

Very clean and friendly staff. John at the restaurant stopped by our table multiple times to ensure we had everything we needed and drinks filled. For an upscale type of bowling alley, the food was great and prices were fair. When we made our way to the bowling lanes, Clarissa was there to take any additional orders and even helped us when we had lane issues. Highly recommend Pinstack for family and friends looking for a fun time

I have been to the new Pinstack location by The Rim twice, both great experiences. The first time I went with a group of mom's to celebrate a friends birthday. We went on a Monday night and they had great specials. We bowled and ate for $17 per person. Then I went with a work group to celebrate the holidays. We went in a Thursday afternoon. We got 3 bowling lanes in the VIP room and it was wonderful to have our own area! We ordered almost all appetizers (boneless wings were everyone's favorite) and some pizza. The service was incredible!

UPDATE FROM MY INITIAL REVIEW:…read more I recently attended a tournament at this bowling alley and, unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. I brought a concern to the staff regarding the integrity of the tournament. While I did receive a response after messaging privately, it was dismissive and unnecessarily rude. I was told that my concern was unfounded and even that I had not approached table attendants--something that is untrue as I did approach them. I do not have concrete proof beyond what was openly admitted and bragged about by others, but the way my concern was handled left me with little confidence in the fairness or professionalism of this establishment. Beyond the tournament itself, my overall impression of the facility was not positive. Concessions were overpriced, the menu was difficult to read due to constant blinking, and staff at the counter were rushed and curt when taking orders. However, after experiencing their customer service privately with an issue and as displayed in the owner's comments below any review less than perfect on Google, the rudeness I was greeted with is no surprise. Further displaying the lack of professionalism. Given the number of tournaments this alley hosts, I regret that my experience left me with concerns about both organization and customer service. For bowlers and families seeking a fair, welcoming, and professional tournament environment, there are other options in San Antonio that are more reliable.

This place has bowling, drinks and food! The food is from the bar Nextdoor, The General Public. I…read morereally liked their ginger spritz. It featured ginger beer, lemon juice, and yuzu syrup. It was delightful! You could really taste the yuzu. They added a mint leaf for garnish too. The food included a caesar salad, bread and pistachio crisp, and this super yummy spinach artichoke dip. The dip was my favorite! The baristas were very friendly! There are complimentary socks if you need them to bowl.

The staff offered to try to bring the whole pizza that the slice came from (a half cheese and half pepperoni pizza). I agreed because paying 1/3 of the cost of a whole pizza for just a slice didn't make sense to me and it wasn't what I ordered. Once the whole pizza came out, I tried a slice and it was bad. The cheese was waxy and flavorless. That's when I regretted not agreeing to just a slice and only paying $7.50. That being said, they offer a large soft pretzel which is a good option, however I'm not a fan of the cheese sauce that comes with it (and I love cheese). The building is great for bowling, which is $32 an hour and shoe rental is $6 per person for VERY worn down shoes/laces. A party of 4 will pay $25 and change for shoe rental that was uncomfortable for two out of the four of us. I would recommend bringing your own bowling shoes. Lastly, we were celebrating my daughter's birthday on this visit and learned they don't do anything special for birthdays. We will definitely try somewhere else for a future celebration.

This location specifically is pretty clean overall, wait staff is a hit or miss, there's usually maybe 3-4 when we go right when they open so we get the space for ourselves until the rush starts coming through at around 2-3. We usually get pretty good service whenever we go overall, we just had only one rare moment with a front check in person about some of the rules that we weren't aware of that changed all of a sudden. I understand that if there's some changes with how things are done, totally ok with that, but there's also a way to explaining it to us as we were accustomed to prior to the bowling alley. Just tell us without having some attitude about it - That's my only rant, otherwise it's a great spot! Parking: plenty shared with a bingo spot.

It was easy to make a reservation online, but we were astounded by the $56 person price! We called and spoke to a very friendly, very helpful sales rep who offered several specials to consider. We chose 2 hours of play with shoe rental, unlimited soft drinks and 2 drink tickets per person. Final price was $13/person cheaper than the online booking version. We had a blast! We had two lanes side by side at end of the alley. A friendly server brought menus over, answered any questions we had, and took our order for fun specialty drinks. The drinks served were really good! Also available is a nice selection of food options, but we didn't try anything as we had dinner plans after bowling. It was easy to set up player and team names (Dominators and Gutter Cousins) on the digital scoreboards, then we got the balls rolling! None of us had bowled in a very long time, and our skills varied widely. We laughed and cheered and trash-talked our way through the games. It's loud enough in the place that we could yell and cheer without disturbing anyone. Center table between the lanes held our drinks, and the cushioned bench seats were heavily padded and comfortable. Two hours of play passed quickly! We all had a great time despite the occasional gutter ball! Everyone said they'd forgotten how much fun bowling is. We'll definitely be making plans to come again!
