I'm a little hesitant to share this adorable boutique with the fashionistas of San Diego because it really is one of my favorites and parking is already tough, but here goes. Pink Lagoon is one of Cedros' best kept secrets. Yes, it is on the shopping row, known as the Design District, with a few other boutique-y stores (like Mabel's and Tucci), but it's a little tucked away. It's kind of on a corner and unless you know about it, you might miss it. The Belly-Up, a fun, intimate, concert venue, is a few stores down and Muttropolis, a pricey store to spoil your dog (some cat stuff, but more focused on dogs) that sells more frou-frou outfits than Carrie Bradshaw owns, is in the vicinity as well. Pink Lagoon has some of the sweetest people working there. They will help you find a cute outfit to go to a cocktail party or a night out and they won't bust your butt to buy everything you've tried on. Also, they'll let you know about trunk shows and other events and if you want, they'll put you on their guest list (just do it--they sometimes send discount coupons and a little something for your b-day). Now on to the goods--what I love about Pink Lagoon is that they have some up and coming designers so you won't be caught wearing the same thing your roomie just bought. Then they have some popular standby designers, such as Milly, Rich and Skinny, JET, M Missoni (slightly less expensive line) and La Rok. Also, the variety of clothes is refreshing--loungewear, cocktail attire, pjs, denim, some select jewelry (like CC Skye), cashmere (a girl's second best friend), and even some hot bikinis! And the clothing styles range from beachy to rocker to super feminine. The space is small, but they pack a lot of cute clothes in! And it's decorated really girly and fun. Like I said, parking is extremely hard to come by, but most likely easier to get on a weekday. There are a lot of meters in that area so come with a handful of quarters! If you need your caffeine rush, stop in Zinc Cafe--great coffee and organic treats. read more

My fashion is about being unique, so I wear outfits that no one else may wear. This place has unique clothing for those of you out there looking for something that no one else might have. Cutest boutique ever! I love it here...You can tell the girls who work there are really interested in helping you piece together outfits and even give you scenarios of how and where to wear it! The pieces they carry range from basics/lounge clothes to everyday wear to night out on the town wear. One silk blouse I bought here had a button fall off and the next time I went in I mentioned it to them and they told me to bring it in and they would send and pay for alterations to fix it. Very sweet. A huge plus is if you are friends with them on Facebook, they actively update their new shipments on a daily basis. It totally helps me because I know what I want and go in for that...so convenient! Other boutiques need to take a hint from this boutique on social media and genuine customer service!! read more

This is the place to be! tucked in the cedros shopping district and full of beautiful pieces not everyone will be wearing ( woohoo! ) you're sure to find something you will DIE if you don't not buy-fair warning! They have fun little events, shopping nights out where the offer a lady an adult beverage, and sales-I signed up for their email list it keeps me in the know. If you see something you love, get it then! they only stock limited sizes and selection and it rotates alot. Ohhhhhh my goodness--- Ladies relinquish your wallets but hold onto your chest because your heart might fly clear out upon seizing this spectacle of goodies with your eyes!! The store is enticing and the STUDIO (resale portion) is truly upscale and high end; stocked full with Stella, Ford, LV, Gucci, Laurent and my dream bag of all time the Chloe Marcie Hobo. I had a really great experience with both Roxy and Melissa; will be back soon I'm certain. They will work with you as I was able to put my bag on lay away for a fraction of the cost. I had come in with a friend and jokingly told them that if you get a Marcie call me. Well about two weeks later they did!!!! The bag itself was pristine and near flawless. The color, perfect. And oh the leather... Yum. Got it for half the cost of retail without the guilt. They know their designers/houses as well- so educational just stopping to chat about why Marc Jacobs is closing down his brand to go back to work for Vuitton (sniff, sob!)
