Everything you need for painting is set up when you arrive. They set out your paints, but you can always grab other colors if you want to customize your painting. When we booked our paintings, they had a few add-ons that you can choose from. My mom choose to paint on wood plank board instead of canvas, and I got the glitter add-on, which were both fun adds to our paintings. The instructors are the best part of Painting with a Twist. Our instructor was Emily, and she made the experience fun and was always complimenting our paintings. She also had a good pace and was very clear with her instructions. I would definitely recommend Painting with a Twist, and hopefully they will be doing more fun paintings next time I visit DFW.

Not only was it the first time I worked with this type of clay, but the learning experience was great in so many other ways. The techniques used have served Lorri well in her amazing art, which is displayed in private collections and publicly in cities everywhere. It was a joy to learn from her; she has a down-to-earth, laid back attitude and a great sense of humor. The others in the workshop were excellent to be with for the long weekend and the experience levels ranged from beginner to seasoned. Because the pieces were raku fired, waiting with the group for the pieces to finish was a fun and exciting time. I'd recommend this class to anyone interested in clay. Lorri and her husband, Adam Schultz, will be holding workshops at Holder Dane in March, with Adam's figurative clay workshop March 24-26 and Lorri's figurative paper clay workshop March 27-29. This is a rare opportunity that you won't want to miss!

There were a couple of ladies there to assist us, including Amanda and Susan who were lovely and attentive. I was nervous about how my project would turn out since it was my first time doing something like this. The ladies made it so easy by walking us through each step. I love that you can bring your own food and drinks. I had a blast, love how clock turned out and plan to return. The pricing for the projects are reasonable which I appreciate.

The class only took a few hours for the size of decor we chose. There was good music and obviously BYOB made a difference too. The hosts made every part of the build very fun. The instructors are always positive and upbeat. I have not met one student or a parent of a student to ever say a bad word about Art Castle and the teachers. During my search one of the first things I stumbled across was Elm Street Studio. I loved the reviews and pictures on yelp so my co-host reached to get all the info on everything. The process was pretty easy and it was priced reasonably. Even more importantly the venue was adorable and the perfect size. We were planning to host a group of 25 ladies. The venue has a nice front room, a center area which is good for a couple of tables, a back room with fire place that is pretty big and a nice size kitchen. We used all the indoor space for our event. There is also a lovely backyard and patio area that can be used for different things as well. Everyone was super nice and accommodating to us. We got so many compliments on what a cool venue this place was for a baby shower. I would absolutely recommend this spot if you are looking to host an event. I think it would be really cool to have a small wedding and reception here.
