I love painting with a twist! This is my 2nd time doing it, 1st time at this location. My mom, sister, and I came here for my sisters birthday. The painting I chose which is significant to my sister which was a panda bear and cherry blossom trees. We're the 1st group to paint this and since this is a new location they offer lots of new paintings! Saturday at 11am. It's BYO and you can bring wine, beer, wine coolers but 11am is still early, so I didn't bring a drink this time around. You walk in, get checked in, grab an apron, find your seat, your name should be on a white board. Canvas, paint, and brushes all set up. If you worry you cannot paint don't worry! It's step by step, very easy, the instructor will help you if needed. You get extra time at the end if you need to touch up on a certain area. It's very calming and relaxing, some people tend to stress out about their painting and that's when some wine would come in handy. This location has lots of cute painting where there is a hole in the middle, which you stick your face in, and take a picture! They have Elsa, Ariel, even a couples one of Jasmine and Allidan! As a gift to my gift to my sister for her birthday they let her choose a painting from a trunk to keep! Very sweet! I can't wait to come back to PWAT.

My mom choose to paint on wood plank board instead of canvas, and I got the glitter add-on, which were both fun adds to our paintings.

During my search one of the first things I stumbled across was Elm Street Studio. I loved the reviews and pictures on yelp so my co-host reached to get all the info on everything. The process was pretty easy and it was priced reasonably. Even more importantly the venue was adorable and the perfect size. We were planning to host a group of 25 ladies. The venue has a nice front room, a center area which is good for a couple of tables, a back room with fire place that is pretty big and a nice size kitchen. We used all the indoor space for our event. There is also a lovely backyard and patio area that can be used for different things as well. Everyone was super nice and accommodating to us. We got so many compliments on what a cool venue this place was for a baby shower. I would absolutely recommend this spot if you are looking to host an event. I think it would be really cool to have a small wedding and reception here.

It is cozy and trendy and makes for a great place to host any event. Jessi, the event manager, and Shelly, owner, were extremely helpful and went above and beyond to cater to our needs. Jessi helped us set up the décor on the day of the event. There are three rooms that you can use and were able to MORE than comfortably accommodate our party of 25. They have a beautiful backyard that can be used too. I would definitely recommend this venue to my family and friends. Thank you Jessi and Shelly, we are so pleased. You made our event SO memorable. Wish you success and growth!

We come back down to Hurst every summer just for him to be able to take classes for a week. All of the instructors are patient, kind and caring. They want every child to do their best and be proud of their work. I love to go in a few minutes early for pickup just to hear the instructors working and encouraging the kids. The instructors are always positive and upbeat. I have not met one student or a parent of a student to ever say a bad word about Art Castle and the teachers. Your children are in excellent hands and will come out with a great experience and love of Art.

Then you say well he doesn't really have a behavior issue when we get ready to pull him from camp. Then you state that well my child said his school teacher called us several times for behavior issues. So as an adult you believe a little kid instead of having a conversation with the parent(s) ? Who cares about your 20 years as a school teacher prior to this? All that does is allows you to group kids based on past experiences but you missed on this one. In your mind, you think we are " just some regular black parents". The truth is we are very educated and do accept false narratives. This child had won many awards for his school work , helpfulness, and citizenship. He has tested in the top 3% percentage in the country for math & reading in his age group. He plays the piano very well, plays the guitar, has a true love for art. Never once has there been a behavior issue and I have the references from the daycare, private schools, and gifted and talented schools that he has attended since 3 years of age. I am a realist and the one thing that I will not let happen, is for anyone to create a narrative that is untrue. If you were telling the truth, I could live with that. You have a problem within you. You have a "better than" complex. The other people that work for you know that you were not honest with what you said today. They may be afraid because of their jobs. It appears to me that there is no issue except for the fact that he is very intelligent and brown skinned. Well you now have your wish....a color free school.
