My best friend and I used to come here a lot until the last few experiences, which is close to a year ago now. I don't usually talk a lot and the new nail tech I had was literally asking me trivia questions. I tried to give one or two word answers but he kept asking and loudly kind of chastising me for wrong answers... I looked at the lady next to me and she also had a very confused look. It was not only weird, but extremely obnoxious when all I wanted was just to get my nails done. We haven't been back since, and don't plan on returning. They've definitely gone downhill over the years like someone else said. read more

One of your employees is outright rude. My daughter has self-esteem issues and getting her nails done is one of the few activities that makes her feel special and pretty. Today, Dan noticed that she has scars on her arms, and went "WHAT THE HELL?!" in front of customers making my daughter cry. I say what the hell is wrong with Dan that he wouldn't have the decency to politely and discretely ask about something that is obvious to everyone to be a personal issue. It was extremely unprofessional, and I hope that he never does that again to any customer. read more

I left the salon with my toe bleeding due to the rough treatment by the lady doing my pedicure. The area took weeks to heal. She never apologized either. Later, after my fingernails grew out some, I realized there were divots in my nail beds where she aggressively buffed layers of nail off. I will not be back. read more

Things I liked: 1. They always do I great job. I usually get a classic manicure and a pedicure and it's always great. 2. They are handicap accessible. I took my friend here whom is handicapped. We went to a different salon prior to coming here and at that salon they told us that we needed to book an appointment due to my friend being in a wheelchair. We went to Pink and White and they welcomed use with open arms. Two make employees picked my friend up and out her into the pedicure chair. They treated her and I with respect and dignity. ( which you would be completely surprised on how many people do not when you are in a wheelchair) I have come back to them ever since. 3. They are clean, efficient and friendly. read more

Dan is very rude and complains a lot. He yells at little kids and that can make them very upset. I don't think I will be visiting again. (My nails also had hair in them that wasn't mine and the where cut and painted very uneven) don't even get me started on the splotches! When he was putting my nail on it was FALLING. OFFF. Like WTH. the way dan treats people isn't fair. If I go again I will actually say not Dan as my nail tech please. (But I'm not going again so it doesn't matter.) I need a respond ASAP. read more

My friend and I came here yesterday to get our nails done for NYE and I'm extremely disappointed. Let me start with the positives. This place is stunning! You can see from my pics that it's a very modern nail salon and has very pretty decor. They also have a fantastic selection of polish (regular & gel). Back to the reality of this place. It was fairly busy because of it being NYE (which I fully expected). My friend and I waited for about 30 minutes and then someone came over to get my friend for her manicure. I continued to sit and wait. There was seriously about 5 people that walked in, told the receptionist (I use that word loosely because he was the ultimate diva and you could tell he didn't wanna be there- which was made obvious by him going and sitting in the pedicure chair and browsing his phone, despite the room FULL of customers) what they needed and he said there was no wait and sat them right away. Excuse me? I had been sitting there for over half an hour and he just sat these people down? I gave him the benefit of the doubt and told myself that this particular nail salon with 10 working people, possibly only 3 of them could do acrylic. Likely, right? Not. After about another 10 min of waiting, the receptionist finally came over, got me, and told me to sit in one of the chairs, which you can see from my pic was not actually a work station and it was covered with junk. The nail tech finally told me to move to another seat so he could start, but only after he went outside and smoked a cigarette. After he (finally) started on my nails, he rushed. To get a complete acrylic set in about 10 minutes is unheard of. As you can see from my pics, he cut them way too short. I told him I wanted them to be a fairly natural length, next thing I knew, he just started clipping; Never asking if it was an ok length BEFORE he clipped. While he was doing my nails, he kept making conversation with the other nail tech next to him. It was incredibly unprofessional conversation. I'm all for a relaxed environment, but come on....talking about Tom Brady's wife and referring to her as "yummy"? Yes, we all know Giselle is gorgeous, but do you need to be so crude about it? Anyways, I was definitely glad to be out of there. Oh, and to add insult to injury, this place is supposedly known for giving you a glass of wine while you get your nails done (probably to deal with the lack of professionalism and overlook the terrible nails)....I was never offered any. Needless to say, I will never go back to that nail place. read more

Was a little disappointed my last visit. Atmosphere was not as nice and upscale as it used to be. Short staffed. I will try again.

It's hit or miss here. Sometimes they do ok, others they make you bleed while doing your cuticles and can't seem to cover the whole nail with polish. Today both of those things happened. It was like he didn't even care about getting the sides or corners. He nipped me twice during my pedicure and once during my manicure. read more

This place is unique, insomuch that it's beautifully decorated and they offer a glass of wine to enjoy while getting your service. I adore their pedi chairs, they are comfortable and the massage features are great. Usually I can tell the quality of the pedicure by how long my feet feel soft and the polish stays on. I've had mixed results with the polish and I feel like my feet are buffed and any trouble spots aren't truly being address. I've had a basic manicure once and I was too busy talking with my friend and didn't notice the shape of my nails until I got home. The shape was okay on most but a few were just crooked. One experience doesn't fully capture the overall picture so hopefully this was just a fluke. Overall, they are clean and friendly but need to work on the technical aspect. read more

Pink & White Nails was recommended to me by an acquaintance of mine. On the plus side it is easy to obtain an appointment, the prices are reasonable and the service is good. However, the cleanliness and sanitation of this place are subpar!! While I was there I noticed that nail implements and tools were just laying about and that these tools were used on multiple customers without being sanitized. Also, after a pedicure tub was used, I did not see it being cleaned or sanitized by any of the staff members. Instead of cleaning, the staff members were just laying around or playing on their smart phones. I did not see a dental autoclave on the premises. While the Illinois Board of Barbering and Cosmetology does not require use of autoclave sterilization for nail tools, the machine is a more reliable way of killing fungus, bacteria and viruses that can be transferred between clients than the soaking solutions used by most salons, including this one. Based on the lack of cleanliness and sanitation that I saw there, I won't be coming back. I am concerned that I would eventually pick up some kind of foot or nail fungus there, or possibly worse, an infection. Although Pink and White Nail responded to my review and claims that all their staff follows sterilization procedures, I did not see any of their staff members sterilizing nail implements or sanitizing any of the pedicure tubs, during the three hours I was on the premises having waxing, a manicure, pedicure and paraffin treatments done. read more

I have been going to Pink and White for quite awhile. Today a woman came in to get a pedicure. When all done she said she had a gift card from Friend on her phone. Ok that is not proof of a gift card. I had a gift card and I guess I could have made copies of it to send to many friends. That's why a copy isn't good enough. Common sense says that's not right. She said she won't be back. That's too bad because I have always been treated with the upmost respect. The people there were not rude to her. They just explained why they can't accept a phone copy. She raised her voice and was rude. Sorry for her. Maybe later she will realize why she was wrong. Anyway I will continue use to go to Dan the Man at Pink and White Nails. read more

OMG IM DEAD!! My friend and I went there and I did not get my acrylics done but my friend did. Her sister dropped us off and she had Dan. Dan first wouldn't let her get the first color and glitter and we had to pick another. Dan yelled at my friend and said "you're old enough to know how to stand still" Dan also slapped her hand when she didn't understand him when he said "relax" or "put your fingers down" the end result was ok but there was a couple nails that hand uneven acrylic and nail polish! I got acrylic nails done here. It took 2 hours just for a full set. First the nail tech put the tips on so crooked that they had to be redone. Next, the acrylic came out so bumpy and thick that he decided to soak it off and re-do a couple nails as well. Then the nail polish he was using was old and thick, so I asked for a different one. One of the nails broke that night. I don't like giving one star reviews but I feel this is necessary. I have been to this nail salon many times throughout the years and this will be my last. The unprovoked and inappropriate comments from the younger male nail techs are so unprofessional and make me very uncomfortable. For example: "Do you have a boyfriend? How many? Someone who looks like you should have at least ten." Or "What's your ethnicity?" "Oh I love [my ethnicity]. Those girls sure know how to party" The only redeeming factor is that the facilities are nice. read more

I brought my daughter to have her nails done for homecoming and I decided to have my nails done as well. I'm a licensed nail tech, but I thought it would be nice to have someone else do my nails for a change. I also wanted to be able to have fun with my daughter while she got dolled up for her dance. We were thrilled with our experience. My daughter said her nails were perfect, they were exactly what she wanted. I've had several complements on my nails. The gentlemen who did our acrylic sets were very nice. I also decided to have my eyebrows waxed at the last minute and they were very accommodating. The woman who waxed my eyebrows was very nice and I was very happy with how they looked. I will be back for sure. read more

I had a few friends in town from Chicago and we went to Pink & White to get pedicures. The nail techs were very harshly correcting two of the other technicians (who were apparently new) right in front of us. It was pretty awkward. The guy doing my nails was grumpy and unfriendly. The polish that I picked out was thick and chunky and when I commented on it he acted like he didn't understand me. Before he was even finished with my toes there were chips, and same for my nails. I won't be returning to this salon nor will I be recommending it to anyone. read more

I must say that this is one of the best salons I have found since moving to Springfield. With that said, I always leave feeling, at best, disappointed. I have been going to Pink & White for almost a year. Why, you may ask, if I have not been happy? Well, they are open on Sundays, they offer wine or water, and they are large enough that you never have to wait to get helped. However, The atmosphere is not super friendly - you are just another dollar walking through the door. They almost always rush through their services to hurry to the next customer. There is not much attention to detail and they never make you feel valued or important. I have been here a couple if times. Just recently moved back from living in Chicago. This place is not expensive like some of the reviews have said. I got a deluxe pedi and design for $40! This time I had Mai and I am definitely setting an appointment with her next time!! She doesn't speak very much English but WOW what a great pedi! One of the best I have had. She is very attentive to detail and does a lot of message on the legs and feet which I enjoy the most! I decided to get a design this time. So glad I did! I went with a flower and it was way better designed than I ever thought it was going to be. She did a GREAT job!! Ironically enough she did Hawaiian flowers which was perfect because I am getting married in Hawaii in less than a month so I am definitely going back to get the exact same thing before I leave. I never even mentioned that I was going there. She provided me with exactly what I was looking for!! I have been to other nail places in Springfield since I am originally from here. Highly Recommend. Love this place. I am a regular customer since 2011. The space is beautiful. Clean. Relaxing. A+++ service. I don't particularly like to make a lot of small talk, and they are fine with that. :) they are all about making sure you are relaxed and have a beautiful mani and pedi at the end of the day. Quick, too! But they do get busy... Which is a great sign. I see Lisa and Brian, but everyone is wonderful. Even though I don't typically like to let people know about my "secret" go-to places... This time the guy rolled his eyes at me, I had to go back in and have every nail fixed because only half the nail was covered. I don't even know where to begin! As a physician with a very busy schedule, I went in yesterday on my afternoon off for what was meant ti be a relaxing manicure. Little did I know that I was walking into a warped world if lack of any desirable customer service. I walked in, and the staff looked at me like I was an alien entering their party. I was not greeted politely, and was asked to pick out a nail color. What ensued next was horrendous. A "gentleman", or lack there of, proceeded to file my nails so vigorously that it hurt! He repeatedly would ask me, Ouch, or no ouch. That should have been my cue to run out! Also, every other person was offered a glass of wine except for me. Being that I was the only person of color in the salon, it makes me wonder, whether they were uncomfortable with my ethnicity. Even a patron sitting next to me noticed the difference and spoke out. Finally, I did not receive a hand massage. I suffice with saying that I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. Extremely poor customer service, poor technique, and I hate to play the "race" card, but that is exactly what it felt like. read more

My daughter and I went there for the first time tonight. We researched prices online for their services, manicures are listed at $15. I purchased the shellac color change nail polish. They did not have the color I wanted so I went with a different shellac color. When I went to pay it was $30 not including a tip for the tech. NO WHERE IS IT LISTED THAT SHELLAC IS $30!! I am very unhappy with being charged $30 plus when I got home I had to file my nails because the tech did not file them as I asked her too. read more

I have been here numerous occasions for over 7 years. Use to have really good experiences, but within the last 3 years i have not. My last experience was terrible. I had the same guy do my fill and pedi. Regular pedi.. He slapped the hot rag on my legs and walked away. Literally burning my toes and legs i had to take it off. I told him it was burning as he was walking away and he didn't really apologized for it. A couple days later, huge blisters appeared on both of my big toes because my skin was so badly burned!! AND both big toe nail polishes came off within a week- i paid extra for shellac too!! I then got a fill and i previously had french tips. I was wanting a light pink with a sparkly polish on my ring finger. He applied the sparkly polish twice and i asked him is that going to cover my previous polish (which was french)? He said no and continued. I told him that's not what i was wanting. they looked terrible! imagine an old french tip with gold sparkles on top!! he also messed up a couple other nails which i asked him to redo and he was super mad about it. then i had to ask another lady to redo my ring finger nails because it wasn't what i anticipated. she did it with no problem! the guy also asked if i wanted wine before my pedi and i told him yes and he never brought it to me. let's just say i will not be going back! read more

Pink and white was recommended to us by a friend and I really enjoyed the experience. I took my mom to get pedicures for Mother's Day and though they were busy but they got us in and out quickly. The paint was good as was the massage that came with it. I know there have been comments on here about how they didn't clean they're tools or the tubs, but after every person left they took out a bottle of 401 to the tubs and put they're tools in Barbor-all. Over all it was a nice environment, however the pedicure did not last that well. It only lasted a few days before it started to chip. read more
