Who ever designed this course SMH. The course isn't terrible, seems like it's pretty semi well kept. Little range area with net Little chipping and putting area. The course is bleh. You either do well or yeah.... No in between haha Not a fan of the layout of the greens. Cart girls are nice but mean at the same time, some guys got into a little argument after some girl threw attitude at some group? But yeah Oh but there's a very sweet man working inside the shop area. He seems like a sweetheart. Picked up 4 hats ! Will I be playing here again anytime soon? No. read more

All I did was practice around the putting green , but from what I could see the area was very well kept and the pro shop looked like it was in very good condition. Staff was very helpful in pointing me to the only thing that I really cared about because time was very limited for me. Bathrooms were immaculate and the food looked very nice. read more

Needs a better Starter. Didn't have a tee time but went anyways as a single to see if I could just get on. Was told by the front desk they were booked, however I saw they were letting two-somes off the front tee and the Starter was nowhere to be found. Front desk staff are clueless bumpkins. With better management maybe they can achieve lower rates. read more

Had my daughter's baby shower there and the food and service was TERRIBLE! Here's how me and my guests were treated: The food that this golf club served SUCKED! I paid for a sit-down meal with two choices. First off, the fruit that was brought out was mixed with old fruit. The chicken salad sandwich was supposed to be served on a croissant and it was served instead on a hoagie roll which made it difficult to eat! The Alfredo was dry, very little sauce on it and no extra brought to the table. My package also included iced tea and lemon aid, NONE of which was served! The water glasses were NOT refilled either. My guests ended up paying for their own drinks at the bar for something to drink! I was not made aware of this until after the shower. The plates were NOT cleared from the table as I was told by management that they did not want to disturb us! I was told that we could use their monitors for a picture collage and a lot of time was spent putting that together and it did not work! Very frustrating. I spent well over $1,000 for a very disappointing experience at Pinecrest golf club! Below is the email I received from them addressing my concerns and basically the blame was pushed off on me! I also called Vickie Boysen who books these events to share my concerns and I NEVER received a response back. We decided to leave and find a different golf course that would treat us with respect. It's always disappointing to encounter rude and unprofessional staff members, and we refuse to support a business that allows such behavior. We hope that management addresses this issue and trains their employees to provide better customer service in the future. A nice 9-hole course in Alexandria. Pretty inexpensive for a round of the golf and they have military specials. The course is short but challenging with several water hazards. The only bad thing is that there are lots of geese on the course which equals goose poop. They have a small pro shop, putting green, driving range and a full grill. They have recently remodeled the indoor driving range and will be upgrading to golf simulators. They have golf leagues on Monday, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. read more

This is a nice, cheap 9-hole public course. Not super fancy or anything but for $20 I think this deserves 4*. They have a bar with beers on tap as well as cans and other food items in the clubhouse if you want a couple brews for the round. It is a short course but it is actually pretty challenging with a couple narrow fairways and a good amount of trees. There are a couple small ponds and a creek that runs through the course but not much water or sand bunkers on it. There are two par 5's, three par 3's, and four par 4's. You can call ahead to get a tee time but I have often just walked on, as well. Everyone that works there is very nice and helpful. I have always walked this short course but they do have golf carts if you want/need them. Hit 'em straight and long! Oh, they also offer foot golf (soccer version) but I believe it is only available certain days but I am not positive. There is a net you can hit into but don't come expecting a driving range. Beware the foot golfers if you are trying to play real golf. It's a nice course but I spent 45 minutes on one hole because we were backlogged by a group of foot golfers that were just standing around. Most times it's fine but if you get one group that doddles then don't expect it to be a quick round. read more

This place is worth checking out for 18 holes of footgolf. They have 9 holes for golf but they have the full 18 if you want to kick the ball instead of hitting it with the club. Challenging course that will send you into the trees and woods chasing an errant kick (I had the scrape on my hand to prove it) to retrieve the ball and might even get your ball in the lake where you have to deal with a HUGE flock of geese that know they own the place. You definitely don't need a cart for footgolf here unless you have problems walking or are really lazy. Only downside here is the course can get crowded and the golfers and golfers can't really play at the same time so you might be waiting in line at all the holes on a busy day. I'll come back here to play footgolf for sure an maybe check out a round of golf sometime too. read more

I witnessed golfers playing unsafely in this course purposely hitting balls onto the road and oncoming traffic so I brought it to the attention of the young man working the front desk and was told they had other reports of the "rowdy group" (THEIR words NOT mine) that day and they would send someone to check on it. This is very dangerous to hit balls onto the crowded braddock road which it sides too that can possibly kill motorists, this is a total liability and I think they should pay for a net so cars aren't getting hit with balls or people as there is also a walking foot path on that side of the course too. I do enjoy playing foot golf there on occasion but will be ok the lookout for other places with less rambunctious groups go to play but it's not a bad course for an urban area just wish the clientele was nicer but I get it's a public course. read more

Great little mini, that rewards good iron play over hitting bombs. Short 9 hole course that is deceptively challenging. Most holes have interesting features... shots with elevation, water, or risk/reward gambles on the par fives. read more

This course is one of my favorites in NOVA. Narrow fairways make it a challenge. Staff and volunteers keep it running smoothly.

I walked in to find out that this public golf course was reduced to a 9-hole golf course and the driving range was converted to a netted one to accommodate more housing developments. What a shame! The two young guys working there were very friendly and helpful, one of them named Dennis. They gave us information on another driving range, offered to give us their number in case we got lost. That was the nicest service we received even though we were heading to another golf course. Good people and great attitude do make a difference, poor service industry - learn from these people!!! read more

This course is only 9 holes, and has only three par-5 holes to challenge you long. So be ready to work your short game as well as maintain your focus to hit the ball with accuracy on all holes...This course is one of my favorites to play on do to the ease to get on...you can play with a cart on this course, but I recommend you get your walk in on this course, as you will stay a little more focused and do less ball chasing...with a restaurant and small shopping plaza next door, you can also grab some food and drinks after your done!! Tip: come ready to play..they do have a driving range, but your hitting into a net, which is not good to see your distance or ball placement.. read more

Layout: Target golf. Know your yardages and keep it in play. A few tight fairways requiring occasional draws and fades off the tees. Greens: don't appear to have been punched so some patches (mold?). My husband and I played here this morning for the first time. It's a mile from my house so it's great to get a game in before work. Pinecrest is a 9 hole, par 35 course with a few difficult 5 par holes. There are a few par 3 holes, and I actually scored par both times! Being a beginning golfer, I was pretty damn excited about that. The par 5s are blind, but the signage gives you hints about where to place the ball. You do have to hit across a water hazard to get to the green on the 8th hole which is one of the par 5s. The course is quite narrow, and I lost a few balls even though they were bright pink. After reading one of the reviews, I was nervous about houses being very close to the fairways, but I didn't even come close to hitting someone's property, so I wouldn't worry too much. The fee is $17 during non-prime time, and it was pretty quiet on a Tuesday morning at 7:40, so we didn't feel pressured to speed up. We had pull carts and finished in 2 hours. The condition of the greens and tee boxes are what drags down the rating to a 3. They were definitely very chopped up and missing grass. But, I don't care too much about that--it's a public course after all and well priced. read more

Why don't they build more golf courses within the beltway? Oh wait that's right, because there's not enough space there. If I have an opportunity for an eagle putt on a par 4 (Hole #2) and my name is not Tiger Woods, then something is wrong. No yardage markers anywhere, and "aerated" fairways (aka dirt rocks everywhere). Normally, I'm down for a bargain, but this is just kind of ridiculous. Don't waste your money with the driving range. It's the equivalent of the tee box at Dick's. Normally I would give this a 1 star, but it's the closest golf course to work, and if traffic is really bad, then I don't really have much choice. read more

This is not a kid friendly course. My husband brings my daughter here to play. Him and my dad play this course 4 or 5 times a month and on occasion bring my daughter. Every time they bring her they try to stick people in front of them because they think she will hold up traffic. They try to assure them she won't and she really won't. She is way faster than most golfers. They usually end up sticking someone in front of them that then holds them up the entire time and if they do manage to get out without them putting people in front of them then they literally follow them around the entire time. This has happened several every single time they have brought her there so it's not a single incident. read more

For inside the Beltway golfing, it's an OK course. A 9 hole Fairfax County municipal course, Pinecrest offers a few nice holes, several with water coming into play. I had the luck to play with several volunteer marshals who helped guide my shots. This was necessary due to many blind approaches on Par 4s. As has been mentioned, there are very few yardage markers so you really need to rely on instinct to play here. The prices are affordable and considering it's inside the Beltway, I think it's a great value. The only course to really compare it to is East Potomac in DC. While East Potomac is a full 18, the quality of the holes are abysmal. At least at Pinecrest, water comes into play. Also, don't plan on warming up at their "driving range". They are really just booths with nets. You can get a better "range" at your local golf store. read more

I have to admit I am a little biased because I consider Pinecrest my home course since its so convenient to me and I have played it a lot more then any other course. None of that is to say I don't think Pinecrest is without fault. I think the course is well taken care of for a Muni, but since the price of the course is so cheap it does attract new players of the game, who don't know how to repair divots or pitch marks on the green. So it isn't always in the best shape and there is the occasional gaggle of geese you have to contend with. Don't listen to the people who review this course and are expecting it to be Augusta National. Its a fun course with a nice staff, for around $20 at peak hours you really can't go wrong with it. read more

I live in the area and have played here for years - always one of my favorite 9 hole municipal courses in the area. But this year during COVID, they have been exceptional. The carts are regularly sanitized and I always feel safe. My women's groups moved here for our league and the staff at Pinecrest could not have been more professional and friendly. Having played for nearly 20 years in DC area, Pinecrest is the most accommodating to women golfers that I've found. It doesn't try to be something it's not - it is a comfortable, fun 9 holes. For the price point and atmosphere, can't recommend enough. read more

Pinecrest is one of my favorite municipal 9-hole golf course in the area. The course is challenging just enough but not to the point of hopelessness. There are at least two holes with par 5. The fairways are narrow so it requires more strategic playing. The starters and marshals that I've met are so nice. read more

Kids had reading coupons from the county library. They didn't want to honor them insisting on having one adult per child paid. But I only had two adults and that didn't work. Wish they thought of this a bit better and provided fun for a family..... kids were sad. Pity place. read more

The course looked fairly well except for the divots not being repaired on the greens by players. I did not like the ignorant golfer who told the starter "We don't really want them here anyways" when we asked if there were any available tee times. I don't think the starter said much besides smirk, but the golfer was an ass. The course can make you stack up at certain spots. Hole 2 is a 220 yard par 4 so it is like playing 2 par 3's back to back. I'll continue to golf here bi-monthly as long as I'm in the Arlington area. read more

Bring some extra balls. This course is narrow! Fairways are almost all lined with dense brush so once your ball strays, you can kiss it goodbye. There were some bizarre par 4s that were very short, but had such sharp bends that you needed to hit a short iron to the bend and then another short iron to the green. You won't be able to see the green on many of your tee shots. Driving range is a just a cage, so it's basically only good for getting the muscles warmed up. The course is very cheap which is nice in this area. My advice for the novice (like myself) is to leave the driver in the bag and play with mid to short irons. read more
