What a shame. I have ALWAYS ordered from this bakery, but unfortunately, today will be the last time. I placed an order through their website and, unlike my usual experience ordering platters through Uber Eats, I was never prompted to select a pickup date or time. After completing the order for standard items (mini croquettes, stuffed potatoes, assorted pastries, and tea sandwiches), I immediately received a confirmation showing pickup scheduled for today. Within less than five minutes.... literally as soon as I saw the confirmation I contacted the bakery to request a simple reschedule, as the order was actually for an event on Saturday. I made it clear I did not want to cancel, just adjust the pickup date. I was told the order had already been fried and could not be changed, which is honestly hard to believe given how quickly I called. (They walked to the freezer, walked the items to the frier and started cooking within 2 minutes) I was then informed that I would need to place an entirely new order for Saturday and re-pay. This lady also shared she called her supervisor who also said they were unable to accommodate. What's most frustrating is that these are standard platter items that are always available in-store for walk-ins. This was not a custom or specialty order that required advance preparation. As a loyal, repeat customer, this experience felt incredibly dismissive and inflexible. A little understanding or accommodation would have gone a long way. I live in Miami Lakes and have always paid whatever it was to Uber to deliver them. Guess I'll stick back to Vickys and avoid the new Pinecrest opening soon I was so excited about. I had to order by the UberEats Apps which I understand because I'm ordering on Sunday Morning when it's their rush. My complaint is not about the wait but rather the food. I ordered the 20 piece platter of pastelitos and they gave me the worse of the worse. The guava are all broken up, the pastelito de queso are smushed and an afterthought and the carne are horrendous. I only came here because my mom loves and raves about this place and she wanted pastelitos. They packed them in the bag and I assumed they would have the customers thoughts in mind but I get home and I get an ear full of my mother complaining about how bad the pastelitos they chose were. I go there often and have a cortadito and guava and queso for my breakfast or lunch and they really make the best pastel de guava and queso. Their empanadas too. I actually haven't found anything I don't like. Reminds me of my childhood when almost anywhere you went to eat in Miami was good. It gets busy but I like that you get your number and wait. Came here to order 2 meat empanadas and an espresso (media colada) and came at a pretty busy time. I was one of the last to order due to showing up at the end of the rush and ordered with the server who was not actively listening to me. She did not run my order correctly and had to pay one of the empanadas separately. I was empathetic to their point of view but realized they had forgotten to make my espresso and waited for 10 minutes and did not see anyone making my order. Lunch rush had ENDED, and I was the only person standing in the waiting area while customers who had shown up AFTER me were getting their coffees and drinks before me. Confronted one servers about my espresso, and they gave me one that was clearly meant for someone else and realized no apology was given either. I genuinely don't enjoy writing bad reviews but I have nothing good to say about this place. I waited approximately 5 minutes to be greeted by one of the employees because they were too busy chatting amongst themselves and with another client. I ordered 2 sandwiches and the lady making my sandwiches, is not wearing any gloves at all. I have no idea where her hands have been, and to be touching all the ingredients that go into the sandwich with her bare hands is ... disgusting. That's not the worst part. After she puts the sandwiches on the press, she starts biting her nails. What is that?! The ambiance depends on the time of day, during lunch it is usually busier since there is a school in the same shopping center and the police usually centers around there. The prices are honestly not the best for what you are getting. I usually come here for pastries and breakfast but it's ridiculous to see that they have people working here who completely lack in customer service and in hygiene practices, so I don't plan on coming here anymore. read more

I love Pinecrest Bakery, but unfortunately my experience with them usually includes slow lines and not the best customer service. This Pinecrest Bakery was the opposite of that! Maybe it is because we went extremely early on a Saturday, but we were so impressed by this location. The staff was awesome - they were attentive, fast, and friendly. We ordered a croqueta preparada and watched them make it fresh in front of us at a little station they had set up. Their cafe con leche was divine. Pastries are always good as is the coffee and just about everything I have tried. Now the staff is another matter. Went in a got a mixture of pastries and croquettes for the office the other morning and while waiting was privi to an uncomfortable back and forth with a customer over a missing item in his order. My turn came up and I ordered my items paid was handed my closed box and left. When I got to the office and opened up I became aware that she did not include the pasteles preparados I had been charged for. I could not go right back, but a coulple of hours later I did return with my reciept and quietly and nicely explained to the young lady that helped me that I was shorted the four pieces and would like a sandwich for the missing pastelitos. She asked who had helped me and I said it was the red headed young lady. She went back and got the other young laday who came up and preceded to tell me she would never steal from me, I let her know that those were not my words. After calming down a bit she looked back at the pastels that were still there in the case and agreed to give me the sandwich I requested in exchange. They need work on people skills, specially when dealing with their own errors. I know some people like giving servers a hard time but that was not the case here, she was way too defensive and should think a bit before saying the wrong thing and making the customer feel uncomfortable for asking that an error be corrected. read more

Have you ever had a cheeseburger stuffed with cream cheese and placed in between a GUAVA PASTELLITO? Like common now, this has MIAMI written all over it. They have burgers with guacamole to fried plantains (platanitos), the combos are endless. We also had the loaded fries, which come loaded with pulled pork, FIRE!!! The onion rings were nice and thick which is always a plus for me. If you love sauces, like me. GET READY! They literally have a sauce for every taste bud. read more

Stopped by to grab some pastelitos for family in Naples and was pleasantly surprised contrary to negative reviews. The place was so clean and pristine. Also, the service was amazing! We purchased about 20 different variations of pastelitos and 14 croquetas. The total was about 43 with taxes. Even took the time to wrap up our bread properly so it would not arrive hard to its destination. Really enjoyed the bakery and will be visiting again. Thank you! read more

The service was excellent, you go to the counter and order and a young woman will be out with your food shortly. Did not take long for our food to be ready. The food itself was filing. My mother and I had the churrascó bowls and they were packed with flavor. I especially enjoyed the unique taste of sweet plantains, white rice and beans, with chopped churrasco: it's called the Little Havana bowl. Very Miami. If you're not from around here, try it. You won't find this elsewhere. Only drawback is parking can be difficult during the lunch hour, so carpool over here or just exercise some patience once you arrive. The area around here can get busy. You usually can't go wrong with bakery stuff as a pick-me up snack. I ordered a tequeño, a croqueta, and a pastelitos de carne. The patelito was an after though because it looked so pretty & shiny. The pastelito may have have been pretty to look at, but it was super dry. The tequeño was just ok and the croqueta was fine. The bakery was clean and they appeared to be well stocked. They're open 24 hours, so while it's great for late night munchies, i wonder how fresh those late night items are. The lady helping me was nice and she got extra brownie points from me. While she was helping me, in typical Miami fashion, this man walks up and demands a pastelito. While she is obviously tending to me. I'm standing right there, telling her what I want. For once, in all my experiences with these rude idiots, she pretty much told him to wait and continued to help me. That alone deserves an extra star! Ordered three batches of pastelitos and two orders of croquetas for an event that we're currently having and everything tastes so good. the meat in the pastelitos was not all clumped in a ball which i find is a frequent problem for some bakery's. the pastries are baked to a beautiful golden color and the perfect blend of sweet and savory. I want to only give this place three stars because of the bad experience my boyfriend had at the actual location. he ordered a pan con bistec and the meat was dry and tough to chew on also made him feel sick soon after. the pineapple juice was also terrible and tasted old. the servers weren't polite and seemed that they didn't care. I'm the kind of person that gives a place multiple chances because I know there's no such thing as perfection. They are incredibly inconsistent. Here are my problems with this location: -their cheese croquetas have a weird taste to them. I can't quite put my finger on it, but there is something about them that tastes off. -They didn't have pastelitos at 4:30 in the morning. Some of us have to work early & every other bakery I've been to at this time has a selection of pastelitos. Granted, other places have a smaller selection than at other times of the day BUT they are still available. If you are open 24 hours a day, you should ensure you have your menu items. Especially something as simple as pastelitos. -my coworker went one time at around 5pm, ordered 2 tostadas. They only had 1 tostada for the day, the rest were for the "next" day & they couldn't use them. HOWEVER, our other coworker ordered a sandwich (that came with Cuban bread) & they could make it. When asked why they couldn't just use that for the tostada, they responded with "that's not allowed." -I ordered a sunshine croissant which is advertised as sausage, egg, & cheese. I requested without sausage, egg & cheese only. I get back to work & there is an insane amount of ham on it. -Second time ordering a sunshine croissant, I specify NO meat whatsoever. I ASSUMED (which was apparently stupid on my part) that the eggs would be exactly how they were last time which was a bit scrambled. I get back to the office, the eggs are fried & runny as hell, which I find absolutely disgusting. I paid $6 for a croissant as the eggs were inedible for me. Menu items should be available at all times, should follow what is posted on the menu, & should be CONSISTENT. If the menu states something is a certain way, make it that way. If something comes with a particular item on it, such as eggs, they should be made the same way every time. There is no reason why one time should be scrambled & another time fried unless its specified by the person ordering. Again, it was my fault for assuming the eggs would be the same but honestly, if you go somewhere & order something, it should be the same exact way every time it's ordered. Bleh. I was first introduced to Pinecrest Bakery a couple years ago. It became a great late night munching spot because it's 24/7. Since this location has opened its become the one we always go to. I don't think they have the best pastelitos, but they're pretty consistent so I know what to expect. I do think they're a great coffee option though and they will stay as my croqueta place because of their large variety. I don't eat meat so I'm a huge fan of their cheese and spinach ones. More importantly service has always been pretty good for the most part and prices aren't bad. read more
