On Saturdays they have poke. Which is my number one item I miss from home. While it may be an arm and a leg to purchase, this once in a great while splurge for me is well worth it. A real poke bowl for those of us born and raised in Hawaii is just poke and rice. Which is what I got. By the time I came at 430pm they were out of spicy poke but I'm sure that goes super fast! I was happy enough to see some guava cheesecake. Obtain a can of Hawaiian sun pineapple orange and get some poke on this Saturday afternoon. My rating is still 5 stars. I love this place, still one of the most authentic places to eat and makes me feel like I'm back home in Hawaii... minus the prices. If we were really back home probably all this would've been double what I paid. Even when I have ordered through Uber eats the food has been delicious, flavorful and amazing. I have only been to Pineapple Grill Texas once and I really enjoyed the food. This was my first experience of Hawaii style food. You order at the counter then you sit for the food to come out. The have picnic style table all in a role. Pretty fast service we went on Saturday for lunch had a good crowd but no wait. They do have specials on the board so look for the specials. I started with the Spam Musubi I love spam I know a lot of people hate spam but I love spam. This is a piece of spam wrap in rice and nori the taste was okay just not great not a nori fan. Then I had the 2 meat plate and 2 sides. I had the Chicken Katsu which is a fried chicken cutlet and Hawaiian BBQ beef, potato salad and rice. The food was very good and you get a bunch of food. I was happy with what I got but I will try something else next time. This location is not anywhere near me so I will have to go out of my way to go back. Ordered online for pick-up and their service was so nice and friendly. They update their menu as frequently as possible. I had ordered the saimin and the owner called me to tell me that they weren't selling the that day. She offered me a refund for that portion too. When we arrived for our food, they had the order ready. Food was fresh and was filling. Their chicken katsu was a little dry, so it definitely needs sauce. I wasn't sure how this placed wouldn't rock... and sure enough it does! The teriyaki chicken has this amazing combination of both great teriyaki sauce/flavoring, but even more so is the char they put on it. It hits your tongue and you immediately want that next bite. Also got the pork, which they mentioned they slow roast for 8+ hours. I believe it because it's super tender and dripping with flavor. I set it on top of the rice and my life was changed. The only issue with the macaroni is that it's not unlimited. Their version of Hawaiian macaroni is just as good as the next. Well done - truly loved our meal. Super nice as well. Thanks! In my search at finding new places to try near our house, I ran into this Hawaiian food place with great reviews. Our friend who recently moved here after having lived in Hawaii for 11 years was craving Hawaiian food so we decided to try this place. Upon first walking in, you walk along the right side of the restaurant and place your order at the register. They take your name and deliver your food to your table when it's ready. Our entire group of 5 decided to try the mixed plate with 2 meat options. My husband and I decided to each get the kalua (pork) and I ordered the teriyaki beef while he ordered the chicken. For sides, I had the rice and macaroni salad. He had the veggies and rice. Can I just say, the food was INCREDIBLE. 2 days later and I haven't stopped craving it. I'm kind of obsessed with this place. I don't know why it's taken so long for me to try it, but my husband surprised me and picked up food from here and I've been back like twice in the past week. Their spicy poke is not on their menu but is available in restaurant and also on online ordering. It's priced INCREDIBLY well and so so tasty. The sauce they mix it with is perfect, great sesame seed oil flavor but not overpowering (and not really spicy tbh), but it is SUPER addictive. Like many of the people associated with this restaurant I am a native Hawaiian. I live in the Highland Village area and when I heard about this place with some local-style food was excited to take my family and especially my mother, also born and raised in Hawaii, over to Hurst (about 25 mins away). We were excited about the Saturday special which was laulau. My expectations have become tempered over a few decades living here in Texas and away from home. We thought the pricing was fair and also the menu was reminiscent of local food that I can remember. Enjoyed the Hawaiian-themed decor and the wall of spam cans. The laulau was ok. And I mean just that. A good meal but not great. I'm accustomed to a nice thick piece of pork fat and of course some fish in there. I realize that perhaps its not possible to make it perfectly the same so I will again say that while it was a good meal, I wasn't thrown back to the islands. The Lomi lomi salmon side dish that came with it was a bit salty for me, but this of course did remind me of home. My mother and father both loved it. My daughters, both of whom are mainland children tried the Chicken Katsu. Was good though a couple pieces were dry. They loved the sauces that came with it. A highlight was the guava cake....Ono delicious. I honestly don't recall that being a normal dessert from back home but believe me it was certainly worth grabbing out of the refrigerator. As was the cheesecake. We had ordered the spicy poke, but somehow it didn't get entered with the rest of the order. We did not get charged for it either so pretty much no harm no foul except a small nick on the service for that mistake. We understand mistakes happen. I was slightly disappointed with the spam musubi. Back home we used to have nice thick pieces of spam and this one you could hardly see the spam under the seaweed wrap. The sauce flavor was right on, but again the spam was so think you could only see rice and seaweed. I would think spam isn't so expensive they can't do bigger slabs of it on the musubi, but maybe these days with COVID it might be in short supply. My mother found out the guy that was there, his parents lived in Hawaii. I think she said that he lived there for a while too in Kapolei area, which we lived in the same area only it was called Makakilo back then. I think these all could have been just a bad day, perhaps some days are better than others. If I'm in the area I wouldn't mind stopping in again to try some of the other meals, but probably wouldn't make a special trip out there. My mother was in agreement and felt like it was ok but no need make special trip. read more

I had great customer service. This was my first time here. The menu has plates, bowls and burgers that you can pick from. Hawaiian menu. Space is clean. Busy during lunch time. I didn't want to eat much, I bought a bbq beef bowl. It was fine. The portion for a bowl I don't think is enough for a full grown man. The bowl is mostly rice, which is steamed white rice. The meat portion is good for a small child. My husband would probably need meat portions from at least 3 or 4 bowls. This is a Nice place to stop by if you are in the area. read more
