We have been going to the Burney's location in Southport for years when at the beach. Randomly while on a business trip I found this location and had to stop in to see if the quality was the same, no disappointment. This morning I made the hour drive because my daughter loved the chocolate buttercream ones so much. I ordered two dozen so we could share with friends and I ordered online. There is a place to type your order (no dropdown for their flavors) and I was careful to type it myself. I paid for these online, but when I arrived to pick them up I added two more items, so a rather expensive bakery purchase over all. When I opened the box, I found chocolate filled instead of chocolate buttercream. I told the women that this is not what I ordered and I would like to switch them. The woman who was in charge asked to see my receipt and it said chocolate on the receipt. I told her that was not what I ordered or wanted. She said "well that's what it says on the receipt." And then she said "we can give you buttercream but you will have to pay for it." So obviously they had the chocolate buttercream and could have simply switched them out. I told them this was very poor customer service and a poor way to run a business. Especially for someone with a large order driving there from out of town. No one had touched the croissants. Unfortunately this was not the only bad interaction with this store. My first interaction with this establishment was when the nurses in my office ordered the filled croissants. I had never tried them at that point. We ordered a dozen each, submitted online in 4 separate orders. When the woman from our office who lives closest went to pick them up, they had packed them 24 to a box and refused to separate the orders. They made her PAY for the extra boxes and stand there and re-package them herself. If each of us had walked in and ordered a dozen, the boxes would have been free. They have tasty sweets but you can't be this rude and run a business. They have lost many customers today.

They explained it was up charge for tea, but not for soda, i always get water. Told them the toppings, they asked for both, yes. The total was like $13 or something cant remember as I thought I posted this earlier. When my order came out it was only 2 hot dogs and side and 2 drinks, not 2 separate hot dog specials. Like wow. I know Ive been gone from here for quite some time but I do speak English. Maybe they didnt think we could afford 2 hot dog specials. Also the croissants are good but cupcakes taste like box mix, nothing special and Im a cupcake and slice queen. I'll stick with my bakery in Raleigh. Maybe its the area, people have forgotten the art of listening.

The coffee wasn't good, I got an iced dark chocolate latte and the coffee just genuinely isn't flavorful or appealing. Wholly unappealing. The Lorraine quiche was really good tho! I got the blueberry Bundt cake and the blueberry cheesecake to go for my husband and he the cake was REALLY dry and the cheese cake crust was not good. "The best part of these desserts is the little candied blueberries at the top" the ambiance was quite bleak and really unfriendly feeling.
