Only being 15 to 30 minutes outside of the city (depending on where you're coming from), it's the closest and easiest to get to. This is a no frills orchard: pay for what you want to pick (for 1/2 a bushel it was $25), mostly the trees are macs and corts, you can walk right into the orchard or get a tractor ride down to other trees on the weekends, there's real apple cider available for sale (half gallon was $5), maybe some gourds in a pile. Easy peasy. If you were looking to make apple picking a quick part of your day and not a full on event, Randall Orchards is exactly what you're looking for. (SIDE NOTE: They love and respect others local farmers and other orchards in southern Maine; we appreciated having a heart to heart with an employee about some of the unfortunate closures that happened this year.)

Parking is easy, and the place to check in to get cartons is obvious at first glance. The bushes were loaded with berries with plenty of ready, large blue ones. We had no problem filling cartons to the brim. They charge by the pound though so be aware that you can fill the cartons as high or low as you wish. The bushes were spades well and had berries that could be reached by toddlers and adults alike. They also had a variety of jams available for purchase. We made sure to get some blueberry, of course. Overall, I loved the experience. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would certainly return!

I feel bad...I feed bad it has taken me so long to shop at this lovely local market!!!…read more I have been a faithful social media follower, particularly during the pandemic years, I was curious to see how local businesses were evolving and keeping an eye on any that might need extra support during the difficult times. They seemed to be doing very well, so I just kept a close eye and watched them build and grow their business to meet the customer needs for local meat and vegetables....and as of the last year or so they have added so many ready made meals, and baked goods and desserts!!! I have been back twice in the past month or so and each time have stocked up on treats for special occassions. We loved the Quiche - very high quality and the taste was buttery and cheesey and eggey - LOVE! I have tried and thoroughly enjoyed their house made, english muffins, muffins, cookies, brownies and fruit bread slices. So so good. They accept cash and credit. They have a great staff/team of workers...they are friendly, and fun. The cat Darla - she was a hit with everyone that was with me...she is the perfect mix of sweet and spicy...don't pet her too long, she will hit you with her little mitten paws. She will rub up against your legs and allow you to provide a few pets...she will reach up with her paws/claws if you stop petting too soon. LOL There is so much that I love about this business.. When we found this, we found a cute little stand that sold bags of apples and pumpkins and and some neat little decorative fall items and then they directed us to the orchards. We then went to the orchards and found a few things that we LOVED about this place. It was cozy, and not as busy and the trees were STOCKED full of delicious apples (honeycrisp for us) and a small little toy train taking people on rides around and just had a small orchard and cozy town feel. We loved it here and the people that worked here where the guy at the front desk of the shack said "Ok, I have two rules .... you over fill this bag with as many apples as you can fit into it and two, eat as many as you can while you are picking" This is different from the other orchard where they weigh your bag and then charge you accordingly where here it is a flat rate for the size of the bag. We loved it and will be back again apple picking season next year.

Beautiful orchard atop a huge hill that you can see for miles. We even found a plaque commemorating a 1932 naval expedition to see a solar eclipse! They have a cute little train (tractor and mini wagons) for the kids or young at heart. They also have an apple sling shot, which I'm shocked I've. Ever seen this before because it was very fun. The pick your own is a bit over the hill from their farm stand which can be confusing, but the farm stand is worth stopping at for the donuts and cider. They make the cider and it's one of the better ciders I've had in a long time. Also, it's dog friendly, which weirdly many places are not.
