This is a smaller (but growing in number of vendors) farmers market easily found off route-1 and in…read moretown hall parking lot of the town of Scarborough. Here you can usually find what you need for your produce needs between two to three vendors that primarily do produce. Since it's small you don't always have the most choice to "shop around" on costs, but it's all fresh! Other tents have gourmet jams, loose leaf tea, breads/baked goods, pasta sauce and maple products, meat, beauty products/soap and fresh cut flowers among other things you can usually find as well. One thing that I can't find here that disappoints me is any delicious local cheese or other dairy products so don't count on finding that. Bottom line: worth stopping by to support local and get some good stuff!

Due to a couple of reasons, first being checking out all of the different vendors and seeing what they had to offer. Secondly was for one vendor specifically. That being Milkweed Coffee Roasters as they don't have a brick and mortar location and have enjoyed their coffee beans. They are located in Buxton and 100% worth checking out currently at this farmers market every weekend. Although I did overhear one of the owners mentioning they are working on opening up a spot in Buxton that used to be Oak & Ember as a special little insider tip! Speaking of them they just dropped their fall drinks and my wife enjoyed a pumpkin spice latte made by them and I grabbed a dirty chai. Both were absolutely phenomenal and both the owners were very friendly and greeted everyone with a smile. Besides this coffee roaster though they had plenty of other vendors. We also ended up picking up some local made teas from Spirit Brook Farm located in Limington. Yet to try them but excited for both the blueberry and lemon teas. Other vendors included some local farms with plenty of produce as you'd expect the most common at a farmers market. Otherwise they had someone who made products with alpaca fur, a spot with goat milk soaps (Noisy Acres Farm), and even The Milk Bottle who make cocktail and mocktail mixers (from South Portland). I would say it was significantly smaller than Portland farmers market but it had a great atmosphere and all the vendors were friendly. Also, the workers are not intrusive or follow you around. They allow you the time to look around, and they offer their help when it is appropriate. Their trees run for about $35-$55 depending on the size. If you don't find what you see in the ones that are displayed, they also have a variety of other trees spread out throughout the facility that they are willing to show. I was happy that I could bring my well-behaved dog and appreciated the strategically placed hand sanitizer stations and collegiality of other masked pickers. Great place for an afternoon of fresh air and local Maine produce, in a beautiful setting... oh, and cider and pumpkins and PIES too!
