The bathrooms were decently clean, but, since we were staying AFTER the main season, the showers had become a back burner item. Wear your flip flops in there !!! The rangers drove by several times a day, but were basically useless. The people next to us had 6 cars parked in and near their campsite, sometimes partially blocking the road. The ranger just drove right by. Overall a pleasant stay, but I hope the open up Bushay next year!

We had them reserved for 3 hours but they weren't worried about our time limit as long as we got them back by 4:30. The owners of the shop are super chill and relaxed. We felt very welcomed in their space. It was easy to book online and they're very responsive and flexible. I will say the breaks on the bike were a little worn but didn't pose any issues for us. We felt safe riding around and had no trouble.

We didn't use up the full three hours we were booked for, but nonetheless made it quite the way before turning back. We also respectfully from a distance, saw many seals! Our pup ended up enjoying her time on the canoe, and was all smiles. She was so relaxed that she actually fell asleep on the way back while we worked to paddle against the current. I'd say totally add this to your itinerary and make sure you bring a hat, sunscreen, and water for hydration!

Out of simple curiosity I asked if they ever do whale watching trips at other times of year, but was abruptly interrupted by the person shouting, "why doesn't anyone ever look at the website, we don't do that here!!" Booking online was super easy, we were sent a confirmation email with a number to call to confirm our tour time. Since the availability of the tour in really dependent on the tide, we did call back a couple weeks ahead to confirm and pay for the tour. Kristin helped us though the process and made it really easy and painless. Captain Dan was super nice. I appreciate all the stories and knowledge he shared about the harbor, who does what in each boat, the surrounding properties, his time in Alaska, and more. Such great conversations. We got pretty lucky because there was a couple boats selling tuna and cleaning fish so there was a lot of sea lions and seals around waiting for fish. We were on an electric boat, so it was really quiet and didn't scare away the marine life and we were able to get up close. We got to see lots of beautiful birds, he had even told us which ones to watch because they dive down and catch fish. And we did see one catch a fish! It was so cool. Such an amazing experience we'd go again the next time we're out in the area. I definitely recommend!

Watching Faith get so excited about spotting another species and talking excitedly about the where's and why's is really engaging. She truly cares about the lakes ecosystem and how it affects the birds. There is no script and no trying to up sell. This is a small owner-operator company. We had such a great morning. Before today I would have called this a bird watching trip. Now I will be describing it as a bird engagement tour. We stopped at a dock on the South side to watch even more birds not of the paddling type and use the restrooms. We then headed back across the lake. Our tour ran long as we were just enjoying the lake and the conversation. I recommend this tour just so you can feel Faith's passion for the waterfowl and this lake. My wife and I travel much of the year for work, meeting with customers and we see a lot of attractions, meeting a lot of people.
