Active small craft advisory, heavy rain, thunderstorms, but the mullet man behind the counter says it's fine to take a boat out with small children. Pretty convenient that he can't answer policy questions when asked what the actual definition of unsafe weather conditions are according to their policy. Won't even allow for a rain check. Our family nearly sank in Lake Michigan because water flooded the engine compartment as well as noxious fumes caused what we found to be a cracked carbon ring and melted resonator. In addition, our bilge pump was clogged with degree because they didn't not protect our boat while it was with them for more than a year. Bad combo. We could have all died, we lost two summers on our boat from their incompetence and they charged us thousands of dollars for parts and labor we did not agree to. It's been a nightmare to work with Fays Marina. Don't put yourself through it. We are still fighting them and I will not stop until they make it right.

But everything else is just trash. I purchased a brand new boat last summer. I took it got to be winterized and to warranty fix my boat cover that started to tear. I picked it up and the fall afterwards and didn't look too closely. They fixed the button but not the tear. They also left greasy dirty hand prints and dirty foot prints all over my boat that were such a pain to clean up. I didn't notice the tear was till there until I pulled it out of storage. My fault for not looking at it when I picked it up in the fall. I had it brought back to fix the tear. They fixed it but they left my boat outside in the rain. To fix the cover. A bird took a crap on the back seat. They then didn't put one pole in and put another pole so tight they couldn't snap all the buttons and now another button is tearing because of it. I went to clean the bird poop off and it left behind a yellow stain that I have no idea how to get off now. Also when I picked up the bait my 7 by 5 pin adapter is no longer connected to the boat which I always leave connected. They also winterized my waverunner and when they disconnected the negative terminal from the battery they did not put the screw back in so I had to go find a new screw. They do not care about your property. I would not recommend you use them to take care of yours.

Arrive at the dealer and I get this story... oh, we sold that a couple of weeks ago... we haven't had small fishing boats for a while. Now Is this a bait and switch, to get you into a middle of no where to a dealership, so we can sell you something else? Confront them on this. One of the owners comes out and says, it's not our fault! We don't control or list our fb sales, some one else runs their fb page sales. It is not their fault it hasn't come down yet. What? Did I hear that right? No responsibility... really! Now hell, I've bought and sold stuff on fb, taking it off line, marking items sold, is as easy as marking it sold and poof! It's recorded for all to see. I drive an hour and 15 minutes, to a middle of no where marine dealer, who it appears in order to drive business to their doorstep using a post to bait and switch boat ad's? Folks go else where... I can see by other comments, this place seems to have problems.

I'm…read moreAn experienced kayaker but what concerns me is that on a busy Sunday only one high school kid was working, there was no instruction as to where to turn back, which way to go, what areas to stay out of, or what wildlife to keep a safe distance from. (And there were swans with babies there. I mean I know that they're one of the most aggressive shore birds that exist, but some city folk don't) The fine print on the confirmation tells you which way to go, but it's a compass direction, not a right or left. There are no signs stating which way to go. Ive lived here over 30 yrs, I don't think I could tell you which way was which. The kid working doesn't say anything, he just shoves you off. Also, there were storms rolling in about 4pm. Anyone working for an outfitter should always be aware of the weather and tell ppl, your reservation is for x mins long, but keep an eye on the sky, or maybe a white board posted with the forecast? I didn't know about having to pay for parking until I got there as it only shows this in fine print AFTER you get your confirmation. Also I arrived on time but they were backed up and being that there was only one person and there's no sign that says "kayakers must pay for parking" both myself and another group had to run back and do the parking stuff after we had waited 15 minutes for our turn. I was pretty frustrated thinking that surely they own their own parking spaces, but the city of new Buffalo as screwed me over once again. Again, I have kids, which means they can only handle paddling for an hour. This stupid parking Situation FORCES you to pay for 3 hrs regardless if you're there or not. I think that's ridiculous and they're doing it to rip off tourists. Well I'm not a tourist, I live 20 mins away. My family has been here since 1989. The only ppl This hurts is the hardworking locals. I think it's dumb that only the ppl living in the city of new buffalo are allowed to get a parking pass. Give me a break. I'm sure plenty of ppl would pay $100 per year for an annual parking pass. Because of this parking nonsense, I'll be investing in my own kayak and SUP and going elsewhere. This parking nonsense has to stop, it's freaking Michigan this is NOT the HAMPTONS. The city needs to get over itself. I'd give it 5 stars but parking plus lack of staff and lack of communication is why I only gave it 3.
