Seem to be more focused on cooking food too fast (which dries it out or comes out underdone) to turn tables to accommodate the lines of people waiting. My wife and I arrived about 7 PM. The sign at the entry stated to "Seat Yourself". We walked through the restaurant and saw there was a table on the outside patio. We walked toward the table and passed by a server and said hello, the server said hello as well. We sat down. About 5 minutes passed and a person, I assume the manager, came to our table and brusquely told us it was too late for outside seating and we needed to move inside. She turned heel and walked away. We moved inside, there were plenty of tables, and enjoyed a good dinner with one exception. My wife ordered grilled Haddock with Cajun seasoning. The fish that was served was either the thinnest haddock ever or it was catfish. We were perplexed but the fish was acceptable. Service was good, our server was attentive and professional. To the person that asked us to move inside: 1) If you have a sign that says "Seat Yourself" then people will do so. If they sit in an area that you don't wish to serve, then explain and offer to help them move. It would be nice to seat them and provide menus. 2) You are in a service industry. It means being pleasant to people. I understand that some folks might push back. We did not. Your attitude and brusque manner was not welcome. I got the cuban sandwich and it was served on a large hotdog bun which was weird and not really good. burgers, steak, and pork chops were good though. my uncles ordered baked potatoes as a side and they both came out cold. my one uncle requested a new potato. staff was accommodating and apologetic and brought out a new potato. however, we were told it was "straight out of the oven" and the potato was still cold. the only thing that saved this place from not getting a lower review was the service (everyone was super nice) and the desserts. all desserts are homemade and they're really good! highly recommend anything with the moose balls! read more

Located in the woods (literally) just above Findley Lake, Pine Junction was a mix of quaint and modern. The entrance for the restaurant takes you past the owners' house and private barn, then puts you in front of a very new and well kept restaurant. Inside the front door is a folksy vibe with a bakery and woodsy decor. With a tree (stump) inside the waiting room! The menu offered a surprising variety... but we barely made it past the appetizers since they all sounded so delicious! The spicy maple glaze on the Brussels sprouts took the medal for the best part of the meal! Unfortunately despite a long list of desserts, they sold out of the chocolate truffle cheesecake that we had wanted, so we left without a chance to try any of the other options. Pretzels and funnel fries for appetizers. Beer cheese was top 5 I've ever had. Husband loved his funnel fries but didn't have an alternate dipping sauce. Accommodating to his cinnamon allergy. Entrees came out but food runner quickly ran away. Waited a good 5-8 minutes before a server came back and brought butter for my potatoes, steak sauce and bbq for husband. Holy mother of, what did I just eat out in the middle of America? Visiting Western New York for a golf tournament and this place was recommended from many, many locals and other guests who have dined here. The location is definitely out there but easy to find off the road. The restaurant has plenty of parking and is cozy inside. They have a large bar and table seating inside and outside. The staff was very friendly, although service on this Wednesday was slow. I will not complain because the food was worth the wait. I ordered the Bangin' angus burger. 100% ground angus beef dripping with juices and simply seasoned with salt and pepper. It was topped with swiss cheese, grilled mushrooms and onions. They slapped a little A1 on it and boom, the juiciest most heavenly burger I have had. I was slow to eat it, savoring every bite no really just talking to much to my husband and son and the bread got soggy quick. So, i flipped that bad boy on its top and still ate it with a smile. I ordered the sweet potato fries on the side. They were cut perfectly, makes me think they have a slicing machine back there, ha, or someone with impeccable knife skills. Either way, perfectly fried and had the right bite of fluffy potato on the inside after the initial crunch on the outside. I am a sweet potato lover and this hit the mark. As we departed I noticed all the out of state plates in the parking lot on the cars here. I don't blame any of these people, as our car was among the out of state plates. Pine Junction never disappoints! After a day of Christmas shopping with my best friend, Pam; we hit the Junction to find them PACKED however they never seem phased. Everyone was pleasant from the hostess, bartender and the wait staff. While some large groups had a wait for seating, we were given the option to either wait up front or we could grab a drink at the bar and hang outside by the fire pit; which is what we did. They had their holiday drink menu loaded with appropriately named beverages. Pam started with The Grinch while I had The Chocolate Moose Martini which was delicious! I had to try the Grinch as well and I couldn't pick a favorite between them. For appetizers Pam suggested the deep fried portabella mushrooms and they were great with or without ranch dip. I got the Cowboy Burger with sweet potato fries paired with their buttery cinnamon dipping sauce that is so addicting! I chose to save half for home, because I also wanted dessert; their Peanut Butter Moose Ball was epic! Pam had the Bourbon Burger with the same fries and she raved about her meal as well! He brother just got in town for Christmas and we all plan to go up there, we know he will LOVE it! Now, for anyone who isn't familiar with the area, you will think that you are driving to the middle of nowhere, however it isn't very far and when you get there you will get just how special and unique this place is. We were in the area on a family vacation and this place was recommended by someone local. We heard on Sunday's they have live music in their outdoor patio/ barn area so we stopped by for lunch. So many great appetizers to choose from plus flatbread pizzas, sandwiches, everything you can imagine. Quite a few craft beer choices, a huge Bloody Mary and full bar we were off to a good start. We are looking for dinner place outside hotel we stayed on. This place looks promising. And it was. I like where the restaurant was. It was on a nice sort of secluded area with a very nice view and small pond. It has a good outside seating/ patio. The inside of restaurant also very nice, it has good decor. We opt to sit outside because it was still early enough and not too cold yet. When you first came in they told you the rule because of covid. Basically wear your mask if you're not eating and leaving your seat. For the food, I think it was a standard American food. Nothing special. We ordered blazin Brussels sprouts which to us was the best food we ordered. Deep fried Brussels sprouts with spicy (not to me) maple sauce with bacon bits. We also ordered cheese wedges which is just cheese stick shaped of triangle (meh) and flatbread pizza with andouille sausages, onions, banana peppers, pepperoni and spicy chipotle (can't taste it). The price is decent. For dessert we were going to get triple chocolate but alas they run out as we ordered and we don't want others. So we forego the dessert. read more

Pine Junction is only about 15 minutes from Peek n Peak. It's a very nice scenic drive to get here. There are signs at intersections telling you which way to go to get to the restaurant, which is nice. It has a very rustic, cabin-like feel to it, but not necessarily romantic or cozy. It's also kind of eclectic, with snowmobile paraphernalia hanging from the walls. They have about 10 craft beers to choose from. I chose a beer flight that had 4 different beers of your choice, at 5 oz each and it was only $7-8 dollars which isn't bad. The absolute must get meal here is the wings. They were large, crispy and full of good white meat. They had a spicy maple sauce that may be one of the best sauces I've ever tasted, and the rest of our group agreed. It's what took the place from a 3 to a 4 for me. I ordered the backwoods burger, and probably wouldn't get it again. The burger itself was good, but it was really hard to eat on a hoagie roll. The roll was a little too "bready" and everything kind of fell apart. The taste of the burger was lost in the hoagie roll. The burger had fried pickles on it, which were good, but they kind of came out of their breading if you tried to eat it on the burger. I had to pick them off and eat them separately. I also didn't really taste the kreeper sauce. However, all of the other burgers come on a normal bun, and the others in our group really liked them. The flatbread pizza was fine, but my wife said she would probably try something else next time. The side of Mac and cheese is huge. It's just your basic Mac and cheese, but was quite filling. We've been going here for family (of seven) dinners out for many years. We have never had a bad meal or experience. Fear not your GPS. You will not know you are at the restaurant until you actually pull in the driveway, especially at night. NOTHING else is around for MILES, and it is Amish country. Our GPS (Subaru/TomTom) actually puts us in the private driveway across the road (we know how to get there, it just prevents wrong turns when it is dark). YMMV. The lodge setting is awesome, with timber trusses and stone abound. The antiques and nostalgic items are free of dust and kept clean. We were there for our daughter's birthday outing last night. The burgers are always juicy and the portion size is perfect. IMHO, I don't see the point of a burger you cannot fit into your mouth and finish while it is hot and fresh. The different style burgers are all a well-balanced mix of flavors, none of which overtax the quality and flavor of the meat. We had one Cowboy, two Bourbon and one Angry Angus burger, all excellent. The ONLY negative is you are not asked for a wellness amount. If you are someone who likes a burger rare or well-done, you may have to ask. Two of the kids ordered wings (one bone-in, the other boneless). The sauce was not overwhelming in amount, and flavorful. For appetizers we ordered the funnel cake fries, which are awesome, but they make limited amounts every day. We also ordered the jalapeño bottle caps (breaded/fried) which were tasty and had just the right crispiness to the outer coating. The French fries with dinner were well-done (which we like) and not soggy and pale. Nothing was over-salted. They have an awesome selection of beers that they rotate, so if it is weeks or months between visits, you will get something new to try every time. I'm not big into the whole COVID restrictions or their necessity, but I support businesses and fellow citizens who are. The restaurant fully complies with NY guidelines, and no member of the staff is ever seen violating any of the guidelines or protocols. You must have a mask to walk about the place or go to the can. The restaurant is actually busiest in the winter, with Peak-n-peak a few miles away and a back parking lot for snowmobile traffic! We will continue to make this a 'go-to' for our family! read more
