Service was super slow and the girl behind the counter was rude. Food could've been better.

Set on rolling Pennsylvania countryside, the views are straight out of a postcard. It's peaceful, scenic, and exactly the kind of place where time slows down (in the best way). The wine list is well thought out, approachable yet refined, with something for every palate. Nothing felt mass-produced or rushed and each pour had intention behind it. The staff deserves real credit: knowledgeable, welcoming, and genuinely proud of what they're pouring. They guide you without the wine snob energy, which makes the experience feel relaxed and inviting, whether you're a casual sipper or a full-on wine enthusiast. This stop elevated our Lancaster trip and added a fresh layer to a tradition we already love. Grandview Vineyard isn't just a winery, it's an experience worth building into your itinerary. We'll be back. No question. For photos, wine highlights, and more travel-food stops worth the drive, check out @travelingtastebuds_

It doesn't necessarily look like that as you drive up. The only downfall is that there is only one restroom. The pricing seemed decent. I was super pleased that they had a small selection of mocktails. Their strawberry lemonade spritz wasn't too sweet or too tart! It was just right. My friends seemed to enjoy all the wine choices! Additionally, the crab pretzel was amazing!! The charcuterie boards looked worth it. Plenty of seating and a live band was set up around 6/630, but we left just as they were coming in. Highly recommend and would come back (even as a sober lady!).

They told me they couldn't between 5 and 6 because they were slammed. Listening to this advice we went at 4. We were the only people in there and when we left at 5:30 there was only one table of people eating in the whole place. A little annoying to change our plans for faulty info. The menu looks interesting but it all just comes out okay. We got a bunch of small plates for the table to share. I enjoyed the Kobe hot dog and duck confit sliders. I would definitely not recommend the pork belly tacos.

That said, execution fell pretty short and the dishes felt pretty underwhelming as a whole. Black Gryphon offers an elevated bar/pub environment with cool concepts for appetizers and entrees. I thought the kobe dog and ants climbing a tree apps were tasty, but unfortunately felt pretty underwhelmed by the wings, duck confit open-faced burgers, and the pork belly tacos. The flavors kind of landed 2-dimensional. Our server was very nice and accommodating, but it was also weird because there was only one server that I saw for the entire restaurant, so I don't know if the experience would've been different if they were busy that day (there were maybe 2 tables total that we were there). All in all, it's an okay spot. Lots of cool ideas that have a lot of potential, but didn't quite hit the mark for me.

I placed a reservation request in the morning, and they called me in the early afternoon to let me know there was availability, which was great. I appreciated the variety of 15 wines from which you could sample to create your tasting. My picks consisted of: -2020 Sauvignon Blanc -2020 Fusion (white) -2020 Cellar 1599 Riesling: Cellar 1599 is a Waltz label, for reference. -2018 Cellar 1599 Red Blend -2017 Baron Red I won't go into detail on my experiences with each wine, but I did have a glass (and then buy a bottle) of the Riesling. The tastings come in little tasting tubes that are basically test tubes. While some might find that unusual, I'm a science person, so I liked it! They also have a cheese board (choose one of four cheeses) with chocolate and crackers, which I added. The tasting room staff were friendly and accessible. It was a beautiful day and lots of families were out on the large lawn. Too bad there isn't a restaurant here, or it would be even more of a win. In any case, Waltz is a winner!

Easily one of my favorite PA wineries, and my preferred destination while in Lancaster County. To…read moreme, the wine here has more of a California feel to it - the reds are more dry, a bit more robust and rustic. The whites tend to be crisper, feature minerals and ease into the finish. You'll pay a little more than nearby wineries, but the difference in quality is immediately apparent. The estate tasting room itself is somewhat unassuming - nice, Tuscan-inspired, but understated. The room is smaller, with some spacing available near the barrels, but this isn't a "big tent" kind of place. If you'd like a seat inside, you may have to come off-peak or be patient. Guests tend to linger here, and it's often because of the at atmosphere. If not, the surrounding property is a nice place to enjoy your wines. There are chocolates, cheeses, crackers and very light, local creations available. I'd love for there to be even more food choices - these wines are designed to accompany a good meal. If you're okay going slightly off the beaten path, and paying just a little more for quality wines, this is the place to visit in Lanco.

The appetizers were well worth the price and were served pretty quickly! I had the Ahi Tuna Nachos and my husband had the Kung Pao Brussel Sprouts. Both were delicious and the right amount for a heavy appetizer for a Sunday afternoon! To top it off, we also had some drink specials that included the Frosted Strawberry and draft Blue Moon. We topped off the afternoon with the recommended pineapple upside down cake and didn't turn back. It was decadent and the prefect size for two. The staff was pleasant, but I felt should have been more attentive for a sparse bar. The restaurant was unique in design and trendy, and had a nice flow of customers for a Sunday afternoon. All in all, would do again for the happy hour specials! Quality of food: 5/5 Service: 3.5/5 Overall cost and experience: 4.5/5

My wife got the same Chicken Salad sandwich again, it's still a winner, seafood chowder was satisfactory to good according to her, she took the balance back to our hotel & she had it in the morning as she had a early morning meeting & we had a microwave, she changed her opinion to great , saying it tasted even better in the morning I guess from it being dehydrated. Pretzel was great, I had a chicken pot pie which I though was ok, it was basically a chicken stew served with a puff pastry in there instead of the stew in a puff pastry, It tasted clean & light lacking body so I ordered a side of lime rice which worked for me. The star of this place is really their custom brews, I thigh think the food here is 4to 4 1/2 star but their brews make it a 5 star restaurant. Their birch beer & bourbon ginger are perfectly balanced flavor & refreshing & I also bought a bottle of their express Old Fashion to take home, 10/10 satisfaction. Even in you are not a alcohol consumer, the Location, atmosphere & quality of service coupled with good , clean food makes this a great restaurant. A definite must visit in Hershey.

This building has been painted and decorated to keep with the time period. Very cool if you are into history. After our dinner, we were given a tour of the catacombs, brewery, dining areas, etc. The tour guide was the owner who was also an actor in our dinner. He is full of knowledge and information about the beer making process and the building itself. The murder mystery dinner was fun. There are 3-4 rooms with patrons and a bar area. The actors move throughout the rooms giving hints, etc. There is a bar where the appetizers were set up and where you were able to order drinks. The drink menu was varied and had some interesting choices. Most were sweet drinks. They do have a full bar as well so you can find something to drink. Dave the bartender is super friendly and attentive. He makes the experience fun too. I would think that they would have had more elevated drinks relevant to that time period. I understand that they were trying to make it more relevant to today to get sales and make people happy. They had lots of options. Even a peanut butter/jelly martini that was spot on. The show itself was great. Very well played by the actors. Hard to follow along a little as the rooms do cause a barrier and you miss parts of the 'show' and the actual murder itself. The actors are friendly and fun. Some people that came even dressed the part. It's a murder mystery speakeasy theme. The hotel and rooms really fit the time period for this as well. The food was a typical buffet/cafeteria food options. You had to pick from chicken or steak when you bought your tickets online. The tickets were about $65 per person. That doesn't include the cost of drinks. The drinks were not pricey. You are paying for entertainment so keep that in mind. We had apps at the bar area that was self serve. Then, we had a salad that was good and soup that was just as good too (broccoli and cheddar). We then had the main course that was served with corn and mashed potatoes. The sides were just meh and the meats were a little dry. There is butter on top of the steak that is tasty. The steaks are served one temp and are thin. We were then given coffee and a piece of chocolate cake with whipped cream on top. After the dinner reveal, the bartender gives you some history of the building and then the owner will come back and take you on at our through the entire building. It is a maze. Super cool to see all the parts. This was a great activity to do. Again, you aren't paying for a $65 meal, but rather entertainment. I would for sure go again. They do have lots of other entertainment options throughout the year and we were told that Halloween is a super spectacular time to visit. If you like history, you will love this place. It is also a working hotel.

Prior to our tour leading us through the historic brewery, our group was chiding for being too loud during the tour he was leading. Minutes later, he had to be corrected by our guide for playing a video too loud during our tour! The tour itself was brief, but pleasant. Now, down to the meat of my giving 2-stars. The dining areas had a great ambience of history with the exposed subterranean walls. The pin point lights intermingled with the red drapes added to this atmosphere. As beautiful as this was to the eye, it made reading the menu a challenge. Because to bring your cell phone or a flashlight, if you expect to read anything. Then the menu. To say there was an imbalance between entree pricing and preparation quality would be an understatement. We were alarmed by the sheer elevated prices, especially once discovered how average to sub-par the meals actually were. My wife was very disappointed with her pork. And as someone who has enjoyed and prepared Oscar for my entire adult life, this was easily the worst I ever tasted. I certainly had much higher expectations for the $70 charges for my plate alone. Service was the rotten cherry on top. As a diner, there was an overhanging sense that the motivation was to turn the tables for the next pending tour group. Then when you wanted assistance, no one was to be found. My wife had to walk to the service station herself, Just to get a box. All in all, I won't ever go back to Bube's. I'll also double down, and eagerly recommend that none of my friends go either.
