Checkin process was efficient. the pet carrier was like new, withplenty of airflow. We could have the top covered to keep out the sun or while biking along the shadier parts, open for the dogs to have more "View". This was a new experience for all of us. We decided to rent the bigger bikes which have lots more features & could hold all our gear. There is a basket attached to the front of the bike & it has a bag in it to store plenty of items you want handy..They do have a more standard bike, but we think the bigger one was the right way to go- we could adjust the handlebars to suit us & it has a rack on the back for a cooler (or if you have toddlers, apparently you can get it set up with Child seats for one or two to ride there). The trail is a nice, groomed one with plenty of benches along the route. There is a nice large park with picnic tables along the creek & there is a terrific waterfall that you can walk alongside of on a set of stairs. Ebikes are definitely the way to travel this trail so that you have time to take advantage of all the sights & then zip back if need be. There are no "services" other than washrooms along the way, so you need to take water & snacks to last the day. It was very buggy when we arrived (late July) but the weather turned cooler and we had beautiful weather for our four night stay. There was no sewer or water hookup at our site but the bathhouse was close. We walked some of the trails and everything was beautiful. We brought kayaks but the water we paddled in by the dam was just ok. Lots of vegetation close to the surface, etc. We stayed to visit friends nearby. Dogs are welcome but they don't want you walking them by the no-pet sites, which is a little awkward.

There are a lot of activities available in Little Pine State Park! There is a lake, Little Pine,…read morelocated near the park office. It's a very nice area with picnic tables, a playground, and a beach available along the water, which can be used for swimming and boating. The dam above the lake provides a great place to get a good overlook of the area to enjoy. There are several trails that run through the park. Camping, including yurts and cottages, are also available. The staff in the park office were friendly and helpful.

Worlds End is another fantastic state park in Pennsylvania! There are a lot of sights to see and…read morethings to do. Unfortunately, the weather interfered with our ability to see as much as we had hoped, but we still had a great time! There is a nice visitor center with a variety of historic and nature info available, including some great info on the CCC work that took place in the park (there's a really nice interactive model of a CCC camp too) and how and where the park name is suspected to have been derived from. There is a real snake to look at, as well. A very nice playground is located nearby, and this section of the park also offers easy access to the Loysalsock Creek and the beach with a snack bar, plus multiple picnic tables and shelterhouses. It's beautiful even just to look at the valley walls and the creek itself. There are several gorgeous vistas available, some by foot and some by foot or car. We especially liked the Loyalsock Canyon Vista, which can be reached on foot or by car. It is located next to the Rock Garden, which is a very neat grouping of giant rocks and boulders that is a lot of fun to check out. The park also offers camping and plenty of trails. Worlds End is located within the Loyalsock State Forest, so there is also a lot more that one could explore in the area.

It was a bit of a drive from the heart of Ithaca but, worth it to see the beautiful namesake waterfall. As rain was expected, we decided to skip the longer hike to the lower falls and went to the upper overlook which was beautiful with a nice visitor area and clean/clear walking paths. If in this area, I think this state park is a must visit.

After briefly stopping at the [free] overlook to get some photos, we decided it would be nice to do…read morethe walk to the falls too, so we chose the Gorge Trail. It was 1 mile each way (from the parking lot to near the base of the falls). The trail was relatively flat and shaded for parts of it (but not all). There were a few benches along the way to take breaks, and water at the beginning of the trail to fill up your water bottle. It costs $10/car to get into the state park but you can use that ticket to get into other state parks on the same day without paying again, which would be great to visit nearby Buttermilk Falls and other parks.

What a park! After Looking the the dcnr site we decided to…read morestop at the park. With three children under 5 years old we wanted to hike and swim. The hiking was good for our young crew. Terrain was engaging and ever changing. We had a bald eagle fly just by us! We did the taushers trail. Really cool pine sections. The swimming was great. Beach was clean. No trash. Goose poop though. Not a gross amount. Water was clean, calm and just the right temperature on the hot day. We hit a home run with this park. We changed plans and came back a second day to swim. We will be back. We will recommend this park to everyone.
