John and his crew are absolutely exceptional!!! They truly deserve 10 stars instead of only 5. I decided to make a last minute trip to the PA Grand Canyon before leaving the area. PCO was recommended to me through several Facebook posts, so I decided to check them out. So happy I did. They are perfect when planning to visit to PAGC for a solo trip or even a family outing. Amazing knowledge, good supplies, and affordable. I visited during the week, and they were super busy (and short staffed) but that didn't stop them from being kind, patient and helpful!!!! Thank you to everyone at PCO!!!

Excellent experience doing a bike/shuttle with Pine Creek. We've done it twice! Both times I was impressed with the staff - responsive, helpful and engaging throughout. We really appreciated their help picking out the appropriate bike for my wife, and helping us with super clear navigation. They also annotated a paper map with side hikes, noting which were particularly beautiful or particularly difficult/long! The shuttle was great too, which I mention only because some outfitter's shuttle vehicles (or drivers) are scary; Pine Creek picked us up on time, asked great questions and pointed out interesting things on the ride back to their office. They even gave us some advice on what else to do in the area! I've used numerous outfitters over the years, and Pine Creek is the best.

Walking the creek because staff lied about the experience, very unsteady rocky ground and many water critters

What type of Hinky Dinky Place is this? I visited here with a few friends and we definitely should not have booked us. Even though it rained the night before the water was extremely low and we ended up walking the entire creek. It was definitely a horrible experience. I would have understood more if someone, if ANYONE had mentioned it would have been like this but we were lied to from the very beginning. Bathrooms are disgusting, staff is very unfriendly, and experience really sucked do not waste your time!!!!

Set sail for True Love, a truly enjoyable time!…read more Bottom Line Up Front: We had a wonderful, relaxing, and fun time for a good price. The Good: The history of the John Alden designed schooner is worth reading before you go. We had some more "salty" members of our group that recognized the name of the schooner from the 1956 movie "High Society" starring Bing Crosby, Gene Kelly and Frank Sinatra and after that we were on board for a wonderful time. We even were seated in the seats once occupied by Gene and Bing. We purchased our tickets after being approached by Terry who negotiated a decent price with us because he wanted a full boat for the next trip. Captain Bill was an experienced Captain and is well known in the area. He got us underway and was a delightful host regaling us with stories about the "True Love", Seneca Lake and surroundings, as well as, some stories about racing the "True Love" and his crew, Spencer and Marena. Captain Bill even assisted another sailing boat that was in distress and precariously close to the lake edge. The trip was two hours long and on time. The crew served non-alcoholic and adult beverages (some free, some for a price) while underway and also sold some souvenirs (Whisky and glasses). The Bad: There was nothing bad, from start to finish, this was a very enjoyable trip and the crew definitely enjoyed sharing their love of the "Trie Love" with the joyful passengers. The Ugly: Absolutely nothing other than we could not be out for longer. If you find yourself in Watkins Glen, this is definitely an enjoyable to kick back, relax, and let the wind fill your sails. They say a picture is worth 1000 words, so I am going to end my post with a few that we snapped along the way. May you have fair winds, and following lake waters!

There are two levels to the boat, and we headed up to the open air top level. There are a variety of tables and chairs available for seating. The lower level offers the concessions, though there was a friendly staff person who came around and offered to take orders and bring things to your table for you. They showed a movie that was about 20 minutes or so long that reviewed the history of the boat and the area, and then the remainder of the time you could enjoy the river and area. It was interesting to hear about the history and nature of the area, plus how the community all came together to not only raise the funds for the recreation of the boat, but also spent hours putting the pieces together once they arrived. Restrooms area available both on board and in a small facility at the dock. There is a nicely sized parking lot available too. They also offer a variety of specialty cruises, which also sound fun!

Located in Bald Eagle State Park, Boats and Bikes is a simple shop with one goal in mind: helping…read moreyou enjoy a day on the water. Specifically, the shop is there to help you enjoy Joseph Sayers Lake, the scenic lake in Bald Eagle. This place rents out a variety of boats to park goers, from canoes and kayaks to pontoon boats and jet skis. Also, you can rent for short and long periods of time alike - anywhere from an hour to all day, according to their website. The website also mentions that they offer an on-lake fuel dock with non-ethanol fuel, fishing and boating supplies, live bait, snacks, drinks, ice, and camping supplies. Like I said: they're here to help you enjoy your time on the water! Reservations aren't required, but are recommended - but also aren't available for each type of boat. I know this because prior to my visit, I learned that canoes and kayaks are first come, first serve. Not a big deal, but still something to be aware of, and admittedly weird since you can reserve a paddle board...just, not canoes or kayaks? When I visited, a relative and I opted to enjoy three hours of kayaking on the water. A few other groups went for the pontoon boats, and we also shared the water with folks who clearly owned their own boats and were using approved launch points to join in the fun. Our visit was pretty straight-forward; we paid, got outfitted with life vests and paddles, and got some help launching ourselves after we asked for it. Coming back in was admittedly less fun since the very busy staff didn't come help to pull in our kayaks; we managed by ourselves but it took a bit of coordination and teamwork since a kayak that's half in, half out of the water isn't particularly stable. We also admittedly dodged some groups of people on land because not every other guest remembered that masks are necessary outdoors in 2020, too; still, the good news about being outside is that it's at least easier to keep your distance. And the staff did mask up at all times, so at least being inside when checking in and out wasn't overly stressful. Boats & Bikes is exactly what it sounds like and I definitely appreciate their set-up, which made it easy to enjoy time on the lake in this beautiful state park. I would definitely come here again and take advantage of the different boat rental options during future visits to the area.

It was a Sunday, and we were planning on paddling in Pine Creek, but had a bad shuttle experience there the previous day and decided to try something new on the way home to Pittsburgh. We called early in the morning before they were open, and Dave ended up calling back quickly, and he was very amenable to setting up our shuttle. We got there a little later than we had planned, but they were ready for us, and rapidly got us loaded with our personal kayaks and the rentals, and then we were on our way. To gloss over the trip, it was beautiful, and Dave had given us some tips on things to watch out for, including a bald eagle's nest. Great day. When we got to the takeout, we called Dave, and he was down from their location within 5 minutes. So a great experience....you can tell that they love what they do, and really look forward to repeat business and seeing you again.
