While in Norway (Oslo), I was walking around and saw Pincho Nation. The decor from the window caught my eye so I gave it a chance.
The inside of Pincho Nation is like one big carnival. The place is enormous but wasn't very busy. It features two levels of seating, but the downstairs was closed off.
The hostess let me know that this restaurant was app-based. No servers, well technically, you are your own server here. Drinks, food, or whatever you want is done through the app. So, I downloaded it and gave it a go once I was seated.
To drink I ordered the rabarb/jordgubbs mojito which was a strawberry mojito. I liked it. Was a little sweet but hit the spot.
To eat I ordered the pizza blanco, fish & chips, and chicken popcorn.
I liked the chicken popcorn a lot since it had a nice, sweet flavor to it. I also enjoyed the pizza. I did not like the fish. The chips were fine, but the fish really didn't have much flavor to it at all.
As items arrive you'll see your number listed on the app that it's ready for pick up. I think for me, because the exchange is so poor for American's, I felt like I was spending so much to do the work myself. The food was fine, but I would have liked to have had a server. The prices do not indicate that you're doing anything and everything yourself; so if it was a little cheaper than I'd be all for it- but again the exchange rate is where it hurts, not necessarily an issue if I had a bank full of Norwegian Kroner.
It was an okay visit. Fun vibe. But as a visitor- one visit is enough. read more
