I found the analogue myspace... Read all about it ... this is a bar that nails it without the 'up close and personal' bollox of the rest of the in crowd Oslo locations Normally Oslo on a weekend is a human tsunami in all the 'place to be seen' bars. Reach for your backpocket and you are more likely to find your hand wedged in someone else's shorts/panties/lunchbox/ (delete as appropriate). OK, i get it, some people like the bar contact sport thing but i am more of a 'hey get your face out of my space' bloke so when I got the invite here and knew it was not on the hotspot radar i was keen to give it a go. I was not sure what to expect but more than happy with what i found. If anything this is more like those keller bars you get around Prague old town. You know ... a gated opening between two buildings and a wooden door just out of sight. Step inside, watch the step down and then all of a sudden you are below ground level and there are openings into different nooks and crannies with long wooden tables and benches for you to park your Maß (wiki it). The people here deserve credit for the toil they put in. If there was an award for perpetual motion then they are contenders. They were also good enuff to knock up an 'off menu' sampler for us because there was so much to choose from that we couldn't decide. What we got was Dim Sum, Edamame, skewered chicken meatballs, shiitake mushrooms, Korean pancakes & a tapas style potato. Asian fusion at it's best. We washed all this down with numerous bottles of sake and gallons of mendokusai which is so close to a caipirinha i challenge you to tell the difference. I was reluctant to write this review as I don't want everyone rushing here so keep it quiet OK ... i like myspace

Pretty chill place in the middle of Oslo. Love the cool atmosphere, the casual feel, and the good food. Would definitely be back! If you come in with a group of more than 2 or 3, be expected to wait for a bit to find a seat. Otherwise, you'll just try to squeeze in between others.:D

A Japanese gem in the heart of Oslo. Right next to St Olav's place, you'll found an intimate and cosy restaurant full of look-like Japanese medieval tapestries and ink illustrations. This peculiar ambiance attracts an arty and bohemian fauna that will savour Japanese delicatessen in the early evening and ends-up with sake the rest of the night. I even tasted there an excellent nuoc mam beer.

It was closed for the summer when I went there in late July to find some dinner. A bit hard to find but never got a chance to eat there.

As we were staying in the hotel, we decided to pop down for a drink. Their cocktails are formulated around art and music with fanciful concoctions based on iconic Scandinavia art (The Scream), literature (peer gint) and more. I tried the peer Gint and my wife a cocktail inspired by a folktale. Be sure to sit where you can watch the bar maestro mixing things up-its quite a show by itself. A bit pricey but very unique

The service is impeccable with a staff who is very knowledgeable about the intricacies of the menu and super in tune with patrons. This bar has a very cool way of crafting drinks as an ode to the relationship between Norway and the United States. It's a beautiful science of all of the senses. We had every specialty drink on the menu (except the one with the gold coin). Some places have a hard time executing on really great drinks, service, AND ambiance... this place does it all with excellence. The drinks are high quality, intentional, and amazing. The food (we had the sliders) also caught us off guard with how good it was. From our seats at the bar, George was an incredible bartender! We're so excited to see how the menu continues to transform with the seasons, offering new and exciting cocktails. We will absolutely be back and recommend Pier 42 to anyone we can!

Wow! We came all the way from Gothenburg, Sweden to explore this place because of the pinball…read moremachines! We were not disappointed by the machines nor the beer selection! Pretty pricey though! Smaller glass than at your regular place. There is one bar, and it is located when you come in. This is also were the cool game tables are (yes, they are working - except for one at least when we were there). The same girl was working both Saturday and Sunday when they opened at 15.00. Super friendly! This place is so cool. To get the most out of it you probably must be a gamer. But, because of the super satisfying selection of beer - I guess being a beer lover is enough. But, according to the earlier reviews - I guess anyone into retro will be satisfied! All the other reviews have already told you about the interior and decor. Not many has talked about the pinball machines though. All together there are 10 - The Addams family, Family Guy, White Water, Scared Stiff (out of order), Tales of the Arabian Nights, Medieval Madness, Indiana Jones, The Shadow, World Poker Tour and Batman. It is NOK10 per credit (even if you are two playing). You buy tokens in the bar.On Sunday they have this deal - you get free plays when you buy beer or drinks in the bar. Fewer tokens for soft drinks though. But, we were lucky, we even got some extra free plays when telling about our crazy tour around Oslo. I was surprised how few people were there on a Saturday and Sunday afternoon. More games for us to play! It is definitely worth the trip if you're a pinhead or even wannabe pinhead and want to try out some different machines! Check out my list for more places with pinball machines. Unfortunately no AMEX and no wifi.

So there are bars and there are fun bars. Tilt definitely belongs to the second category. It is…read moresuch a hip place to be, with all sorts of people where you can play table shuffleboard and all kinds of electronic games. We had a 2,5 hour shuffleboard fun on a Monday night. At 18:00 when we arrived the place was half empty. By the time we were leaving it was packed of people and no shuffleboard tables were available. I think there were 6 tables all in all. So if you want to play, you need to be there early or you need to wait for someone to leave. The game is quite simple in its rules, but very hard to master. It is very hard to control the little round ball called puck. The puck slides very smoothly on the sandy table so you really need to master how much strength you need to use to send it to the other end without it falling off the table. The only negative side to the bar was the price of the beer. However it was a Christmas beer I chose and I guess beer generally in Oslo is expensive. I payed for mine 145nok so I would suggest you to check the price menu before you order. On the bar side there are tables for people to hangout and have a beer. You can sit on the couches that have as a table an electronic game. So while hanging out with your friends one can always play. I definitely suggest Tilt for at least a one time experience to everyone as shuffleboard is a lot of fun!
