Only 1 out of 12 was actually completed because I sat in the house and watched what they did. No cleaning, no skimming, no chemicals added, nothing. In fact they stood outside and texted on their phones the whole time then just walked away and charged me $200. We have been loyal customers of Pinch a Penny for several years. When we had an imminent need to have our pool resurfaced, continuing with this company was the logical choice. We placed a large deposit on a resurfacing project on January 28 and were told that the backlog was 6-8 weeks. We are now going on 12 weeks with no confirmation of when the project will start. We are losing a significant amount of water from a leak, so that adds to the urgency, and it's upsetting that they asked for several thousands of dollars and we have nothing to show for it. We've placed several calls to this store and still don't understand the reason for delay. This is not miscommunication, it's just bad management and bad customer service. read more

He provided a quote that we felt comfortable with . Once the work commenced the job superintendent Travis became involved in the actual work process . I cannot say enough about Travis . Have left several messages, they've even taken our number down in the store yet never seem to actually take the time to call. Beyond frustrating and disappointing, to say the very least. I have used this location for years and found them to be highly competent. They test your water for free. They sell all of the chemicals and supplies you could need for the maintenance and use of a pool. They give clear directions on how to use their products. The only thing I don't love is the pricing. Chlorine and other chemicals are within an expected price range, but equipment costs are a bit high. Overall I will continue to use this store for all of my chemical pool needs. read more

We have been pinch a penny customers for years. Even the previous owners of our home used pinch a penny - so we continued the pool service. James and another guy used to do our service and they did the best job! Cleaned the filter monthly, brushed and vacuumed every week and kept chem levels perfect. James moved away. We have a new crew now (for the past year). Good at first. Then we started noticing it wasn't being vacuumed. The same crew services our neighbors pool and neighbor sits out there and watches them do his. They always vacuum his. We had to stop them after they finished" ours and ask if they planned to vacuum. They came back over and vacuumed. Last week - Same thing. Came Thursday - and Friday we get in pool and it's dirty - obviously not vacuumed. We called and manager was great. Sent crew right over. One of the guys argued w my husband saying because we don't run pump all day is reason it's dirty. We have security cameras. They didn't vacuum. I'm not sure what other Floridians do - but being a pool owner for 30+ years - I know to run pump and to run it in the eve, night and early morning during summer monthto not circulate the warm water on top that the hot afternoons bring. This keeps the water temp cooler. Yesterday we pulled out filter - it clearly hadn't been cleaned in who knows how long. We cleaned it ourselves. I am going to stop by today and talk to manager. I would like to clarify exactly what the service includes. I do know it's not swinging by, dropping in chlorine tablets and checking levels. Stop being lazy! Manager is the only good one! This crew needs to take pride in their jobs! Update: Manager took prompt care of complaint and so far no more issues. I have been a customer for almost 8 years using this company for pool cleaning services. They don't come if it is raining or on holiday weeks. In November the guy cleaning my pool took my automatic cleaner in for repairs. It is now January and they still have not repaired my unit and the owner who I have left 2 messages for refuses to return my call. I am actually looking for a new service which is what brought me to Yelp to file a review. I guess this location's owner doesn't value his customers so I now have no respect for his company and will go elsewhere. He seems to think he is the only game in town. read more
