We had a pool finish applied to our pool that came with a 25 year warranty. The company requires us to have weekly pool service - we do - and monthly water testing with documentation to prove the pool water is in range. After the surface was applied, the pool was filled with filtered water during the first week of November 2018. At the end of November, I brought a sample of the pool water to the store and the water tested ok. When my husband brought the water on December 29th, several numbers were out of range. The guy who tested the water suggested we add muriatic acid, calcium and PhosFree. I emailed the results to our pool company. On January 1st (yes, New Year's Day!) the pool tech came to service our pool. My husband showed him Leslie's water report so the tech could consider it as he tested/treated the pool. On January 2nd, the pool company's office manager (and our former pool tech) came to our house to further test/adjust the water. So on January 5th when my husband brought the water sample to Leslies', we expected a great report. Instead, the report showed the chlorine level was ZERO. (The pH and phosphates were the same.) Several other measurements were out of range. It didn't make sense. You can see the results in the pics - their printer was broken so they had to handwrite the results. On the same day, January 5th, my husband called the pool company's office manager and told him the water test results. The manager came to our house and tested the water in front of my husband. Leslie's water test results didn't match. I don't know why. That night we ordered a digital water testing kit so we can test the water from now on. Between the pool company testing the water and us using the Lamotte ColorQ TesTabs Pro 9 Plus Test Kit, we hope to have accurate test results. The digital test kit measures 9 things - and my husband bought a separate test kit to measure a 10th water attribute. It might seem like overkill but we're uncomfortable with Leslie's water test results and want to be compliant with the pool finish company's requirements so our warranty remains.

He's a typical Florida salesman that takes NO RESPONSIBILITY for things done wrong every step of the way. This is a guy that talks over you on the phone.. hang up on you if you complain... he plays it like he's the victim and he feels threatened.. the only threats were from Steve and secretary with the rotten teeth blowing up my phone the following day to collect money $$.. It's funny how as soon as I posted my review, Coastline quickly made their Bio on Yelp sound great. Problem solver? Really? There was a pool leak at the return line after this job was finished. Red Rhino determined that It was caused by the chip out. I ended up paying $600 for the repair, and Steve refuses to reimburse... this is something so simple and to do the right thing... Steve states that his company came out and found no evidence of a pool leak. Really?! When?! I have 24 hour video surveillance. Coastline never checked! I hired a "Contractor" to fix the upper part of my pool. He's not a fence guy. Regardless of who I used, Coastline did work after, with zero communication and filled in as little Diamond Bright as they could to save money. Steve likes to harp on that, and it's not even mentioned in my review.. I made ONE tile color change BEFORE my project even started. Of course Coastline delivered the WRONG original tile I picked. Steve blames the customer. Just one of the many, many mistakes made.. Maybe you shouldn't take in so many jobs at the same time and actually supervise what's going on! Steve would rather argue with his customers here on Yelp, rather than try to resolve any issues and pay what he owes for the repairs. He's a real class act

His contract states " fill with pre-filter city water to ensure against staining". When I contacted Steve, who was not around to supervise and told him about the dark stains in my new pool, he came looked at it, would not take responsibility and walked away, paid in full Over time, the pool has continued to deteriorate. Stains got darker and Diamond Brite started to wear away and chip because it was not applied thick enough. I asked Steve Schaefer, Coastline Pools to please come and look at the pool. He spent a few minutes, reluctantly, would not answer my questions, was rude and walked away telling me to contact SGM (Diamond Brite supplier). SGM came and inspected my pool. We talked about the poor workmanship. Their report states, "delamination of the surface, pool material not applied to correct thickness, and molting. Complaint resolution: REDO POOL " SGM is an outstanding, professional company that honored their warrantee. They supplied materials at no cost for the job to be done again. SGM contacted Steve Schaeffer, Coastline Pools to resurface my pool. I received a sloppy unprofessional, hand written proposal from Steve, "install warranty material at cost. COD". If this is an indication of this company's service/work , why would I have them return?? There was no remorse or follow up to remedy my problem until SGM stepped in and contacted him. The company only works with Jandy pumps and did not provide me with any other option except replacing the entire pump, which I find unacceptable given the short lifespan. Communication after this initial review improved. I was getting weekly calls from lady handling permits and even sales rep when needed. I did still have to speak to the engineer at the DERM department on a weekly basis too to make sure that both parties were understanding each other bc the special permit got "denied" 2 times. I do have to say that once pool construction began everything ran really quick and fast. We had a pool before Christmas. From the ground breaking to the finish work I had Pepe and another superintendent come in to supervise the work at least once a week or they will come and prep for the next part. I was also almost at all inspections and spoke to the inspectors as recommended by Pepe. Overall, I do believe that they have to communicate with the clients more often during the permitting process and specially when there are special requirements for a permit due to the property. So far my pool looks beautiful and it hasn't had any problems.
