Construction in my opinion went pretty much without a hitch, they expertly handled the permitting, and construction logistics which on Miami Beach is normally a difficult place to get things built and the job was completed within the estimated time. Only recently did we have some small issue that needed repair and Elaine and Armando immediately had people out to remedy the situation to my complete satisfaction. Do not use this company, the worse pool company in Florida. Essig Pools built our new pool which cost more than 72000 dollars and Since the day one We noticed many white spots on the floor and on the walls. The stains continue to worsen and despite we made numerous efforts to solve the problem with Essig we received no relief. Finally after few months they came to empty the pool and did acid wash on the floor and the walls Stating the wash would cure the issue. But the floor and the walls continued to worsen and our pool looks terrible. They sent an inspector after multiple calls and emails we made and according to the Inspector s observations there appeared a cod joint running down and the pool was scaled. We engaged another pool expert to make another evaluation and the report says the stains are due to a defective construction Despite the both observations Essig failed to further communicate with us. Slow (I bought one of the most expensive pools version in august and we are still waiting for a solution to the pool leak and the low quality installation of the deck pavers.) Poor service (they call every Friday to share project status but with always the same news. We are very happy with the pool. It was a challenging period to have a pool built, we contracted in March of 2021. Many of the delays were not in Essig's control, some were. Pool company was truly great until the end. Nicole Mascarenhas in permitting was especially awesome - she provided updates reliably and consistently on time every time; she was ALWAYS responsive, and everything went swimmingly in her department. However, it was towards the end that I started experiencing problems - like, once they got the majority of their payment the customer service and worker's efforts on site just went downhill. Shoddy work was done on the premium marble I had installed. It was sinking and clicking all over the place. Then the workers came back to repair it (I haven't even used the pool yet) but left everything in disarray, through equipment on my plants and all over the yard. They actually cracked a tile when they were here and I haven't seen any concern about having it fixed/replaced. Seems like once I got my beautiful new fence (which they broke the latch on) and $5000 sod installed, they treated my property with complete disrespect. Then when they said they had to clean their plastering equipment in my backyard, I gave them a specific area to do this but they did it throughout my property. The lead guy spoke English and I showed him in person where to do this, so I'm confused as to how they couldn't follow instructions? Ironically, they treated my property with more respect when the backyard was a mess from installation. It probably wouldn't be so bad except the woman in the construction department is absolutely terrible. Worst customer service ever. It's really too bad because I had a favorable impression of this company and then one person just ruined it. She probably has too much on her plate because the other construction lead quit mid-job and I guess this person took over. I'm going to have to hire a company just to come teach me about my pool - they said they were going to and their guy "was here" but no one knocked on my door or rang my doorbell to let me know. I took off work today especially to be here. They won't come back out today and they said they'll come Monday when I have to be back at work. Incredibly crazy and unprofessional. So just be cautious towards the end when you've basically paid them 98% of the job...customer service, respect for your property and the fact that you just basically spent $115k on your backyard means nothing to them. read more

I'm providing a review because they at least provided the initial customer service a company should provide. I've been looking for a pool company for over a year for repairs I needed on an existing pool. This company actually showed up to at least give me a quote. They actually called me back. They were professional and responsive. Their inspector, Pepe took the time to meet with me, show up to the appointment and was super clear and understanding to our needs. With his is years of experience he was able to tell me what kind of repairs were needed. read more

Do not get this company. Not only are they incompetent, they don't have any simple manners or care for others. I saw one of them run off a car off almost into a ditch and then flick them the finger when they honked. Is this really someone you want inside your house. Horrible. I have seen them get out their truck to confront someone. These are two separate instances. I have friends who had them but they are always late or sometimes not even show up and give excuses. Not a pleasant workplace, most work is conducted by sub contractors and the work standards are sub standard. The guys who shotcrete make errors so skimmer is difficult to plumb, they don't use hydraulic cement around the plumbing going into pool so expect leaks after a while. They keep folks waiting a year for construction. It's just not fair to the paying clients that think by paying double they're gonna get something special. There's room for improvement but that starts from the top and must trickle down to real employees not subs. No work to review but I'm placing 1 star because I was able to reach a person by phone who said that their turnaround time to get a phone call back regarding a quote I requested is 7-10 days. Well, it's been 14 or so days and I have yet to get that phone call which will likely not to come. Thank goodness for Calypso, they have Gladys who seems so knowledgeable and good at what she does. She gave me so much information. I was hoping to talk to someone from Essig since I know they've been in the business for so long although I understand with Covid, everything is slower than ever. How about an email or a text or a phone call saying we will be right with you in another week or so instead of just being quiet. I am only at the permitting stage, but I can't say enough about the responsiveness and communication I have gotten from Nicole Masarenhas in the permit department. She has been so great!!!! I got recaps every week of where we were in the process. She made numerous calls and sent emails to the city to make sure that my permit was not lost in the shuffle. Now that the permits have been approved. It goes to a different department and I'm looking forward to the same level of service once the project is completed. I called them requesting a quote... no one able to come to house due to COViD - which I understand and they requested my address and picture of my survey... 2 weeks never received a call back so I called them again... a manager got on the phone and said rudely "you have no space fir a pool"... I'm like excuse me.. yes I do as everyone in my neighborhood is approved for no more than 400Sqft... he said well there's no space.. I said look sir I'll just take my business somewhere else clearly you don't want to work and don't need the business or $35,000 it would cost. And then I hung up. I received quotes from calyspo pool Gladys which was very nice for a 10x26 and the Henry from gables pools for a 12x28 which is who I went with. We contracted these people back in March of 2021. Our project was probably the largest contract they had that year. We spared no expense. They took 13 months to actually finish when they promised 6 months to begin with. We paid a hefty penny for a special pool light they claimed they knew how to install. The light flooded in the first week, they pulled it out to replace it and here we are 9 months later and they won't even return our calls. We have wires hanging from our pool. They stole our money and lied continuously throughout the almost two years since we first signed on. DO NOT LET THEM STEAL FROM YOU TOO! DESPICABLE!!!! read more

Essig just finished our pool build and we are thrilled. They were super busy when we first requested our quote, and it took a few weeks to receive a visit from Miguel (one of the designers), but it was well worth the wait. The entire team, Miguel from designing to Lugo the construction supervisor, have been great. The overall process took about 4 months, and the main delay was a few weeks because the decking we wanted was on back order - otherwise, they build this super quick. Construction team throughout the process was super friendly and answered all of our curious questions we threw at them. I wish I can give them a -5 star, the only part of the process that went well with this people was the person who sold me the design (Tim)...the execution has been a problem from the beginning. I signed the contract in December, they were clear from my HOA in March and finally in July showed up without even letting me know they were coming, some of the guys drinking beer in my backyard as they were having lunch. After getting firm with them and telling they have to provide me a schedule they started calling on Fridays to let me know when they were coming and there was several times they told me they were coming and no call no show. They also ended up messing up my entire irrigation system to the point that I will be spending 3k to have a sprinkler system company fix it. Some of the leaks they created from the sprinkler system is under the floor they installed, but they take no responsibility, so now I'm dealing with it. We are now approaching the end of the year and they are still not done, I had contact all supervisors, the GM Ed Rodriguez and even sent several emails to the owner. So far no resolution. In conclusion if you want stress, lack of ownership, no customer service and a ton of frustration go ahead and sigh a contract with this people. read more

When I contacted Essig Pools, the upbeat receptionist gave me the common phrase, "A member of our team will contact you within 24 hours.." At this point I was ready to give up but to my surprise, not only did a salesman, Ray, call us in the timeframe she gave, but we were able to set up a meeting the same week. The worst company to deal with. It took them 1 year to refurbish my pool. I needed to chase them ALL the time for not showing up. After-service is brutal and non-existing. They installed a saltwater system that was way under capacity for the size pool so I need to replace the whole system again. System can not cope with the size pool at all. They are not following through with closing permits and blaming it on the owner (me). My advise is: STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!The worst!!!! read more

Beware of Essig Pools! We had our pool renovated costing over $50K and chose Essig Pools thinking they were reputable and honest - NOT. First they did not complete job by the time promised, their workers are sloppy and perforated pipes which resulted in leaks that had to be repaired after the new deck was installed (twice), and even now they refuse to fix another leak claiming the warranty has expired and they were told for months of the leak but refused to do anything about it. They used old equipment we had instead of replacing with new equipment, and made us pay extra for it, which should have been included in the hefty price they charged. In all, truly a very bad experience and we do not recommend them! I am sure you can do much better with some other company that actually cares for their customers! Built my very large pool with essay pools , used their Shell interlocking pavers, deal with a few people , one rude , one all business but mostly and in general Essig pool people were great, specially Dan Essig (owner) and Elaine, Joe B and I believe Armando was the other guy......our pool is 13 years old and never ever still haven't ReDiamond Brite the Surface, never...!!!!! The Heater (Aqua Cal) still here..!!!!!! one of the pumps ( Water Sheers) still working , alive and kicking..!!!!! not a crack , nothing.......all i've done in this 13 years is added Salt to the Salt system and the necessary Chemicals like Muriatic Acid, Algae preventer Etc, etc.......this pool have been though 5 Hurricanes , here in West Pembroke Pines and its been flooded and the pavers still almost intact and with almost no issues....Mr Essig himself came at 7 in the morning the day of the Excavation and then again....something you will not see happen with other Companies....yes, Essig pools is on the expensive side, but is worth every penny of it.....called 5 pool companies in the Area...Van Kirk, the worst of the worst..!!!! people i know that build with them had issues after issues...Diamond Brite, cracks........Pool Builders sent me this Drunk who sat on my dinning room and without telling him a F word he drew me a kidney pool to his F taste..!!!! i hate Kidney pools..!!!! bcs is the type of pools most people can afford and they are small and cheap.......I wanted a Roman Slyte 42x20 with extra large spa , sam lights , sheers, two pumps, heater, sun shelf bottom line , everything extra large and they did an outstanding job. there was another pool people at the house....Blue Heaven, well...........the SOB salesman stoled $2000 from us and disappeared but because im a sherlock holmes type of person, i found him in a boca community and left a message on his phone , his wife extremely apologetic was very sorry and we met me and him at the Boca mall and he gave me my $2000 back.......another company from pompano told us that the type of pool we want it they were going to have a lot of issues building bcs is was an extra large pool and they usually " dont built pools like that" (Wow..?????) ladies nd gents , Essig pools is the Rolls Royce of Pools in South florida as Blue Heaven was or still is in California.....
