First, to get in touch with this business is very difficult as they rarely answer their phones and are not very responsive to emails or to inquiries on their website; red flag. ACDC Pool Works quoted me a fee to come out and fix what they said was a simple issue with a repetitive error message that I was receiving on my pool equipment. Well, they came out and the ACDC tech said he guaranteed the problem was fixed when he changed a setting in my equipment, but 20 minutes later (after the tech was gone of course) I was receiving the same error messages. The tech's guarantee that the problem was fixed was also captured on my Ring camera. So I contacted ACDC Pool Works by phone, email, and their website to let them know the problem wasn't fixed as they guaranteed and I waited, and I waited, and I waited. Finally, the business owner with initials "A.C." responded via email and said they were in contact with Hayward (the manufacturer of my pool equipment) and it was a well-known firmware issue. Something wasn't adding up here because the ACDC Pool Works tech was "100% certain" the issue was due to a settings error but yet A.C. said this was a well-known issue with firmware that Hayward is working on. Hmmmmm. A.C. also said this error message could be caused by a high salt content which is clearly not the case with me as my salt content is measured manually every week by my regular pool maintenance company and my salt content is also monitored automatically and continually by my Hayward system. It seemed like A.C. was just making excuses and he either wasn't being truthful and/or he doesn't train his technicians very well. I then decided to contact the manufacturer Hayward directly and the conversation with them was quite interesting. First, Hayward couldn't even confirm that ACDC Pool Works called them about this issue in the first place. Next, Hayward confirmed that my firmware version is the most current available and the Hayward representative wasn't aware of any updates they were working on for these error messages. They also said that as long as my pool is generating chlorine, which it clearly is, that the error messages can be ignored. This was quite a bit different than what A.C. was advising. I then presented A.C. with this information from Hayward and asked for a refund given that his company didn't do as they had promised and did absolutely nothing to resolve my problem, providing grossly inaccurate diagnosis of my pool system as well. A.C. then said that he would not provide a refund and then had the audacity to bring up that 2 years ago, he provided me a quote of a replacement pool part that I ended up going to another vendor for. Well A.C., not only is this completely irrelevant but perhaps if your pool part wasn't 50% more expensive than your competition, I would have given you the business. In short, I would avoid doing business with this company. If you have a Hayward system, contact Hayward directly and they will recommend an alternate company to service your equipment. Good luck!

My experience with Superb Pools was an absolute nightmare. My pool was left in worst condition than…read morethey found it in. Avoid at all costs!! We moved into a new home that had a saltwater pool and wanted some work done, as well as find a company for regular cleanings. We wanted to have the pool light replaced, as well as have the tiles acid washed and the surrounding brick pavers cleaned. I was given a quote on Tuesday, and told that if I could approve and pay deposit by Wednesday, the work could be completed that week. We went ahead and approved the quote, as well as paid the 50% deposit. Thursday morning the work began on schedule and things appeared to be going well. We were told the pool needed to be drained below the light, but they drained the entire pool instead. It was initially not a big deal, but when they called and asked us to approve additional work since the pool was already drained, I should have realized then how this company does business. Thursday evening I received a text saying the pool was being filled overnight, and to give them an update in the morning so they could come back and finish up. I sent a text with a picture around 9:00 am. By about 1:00 pm when I had not received any response, I called and texted again. No response again. Finally someone responded and said they would be there by 3:00 pm. I received a call at 3:00 pm stating they were picking up the sealant and on their way. Someone arrived around 3:45 pm and put several bags of salt and chemicals into our pool. I could immediately tell that it was WAY too much salt, as it created a rim around the entire pool. The individual left about 10 minutes later with our pool looking absolutely terrible... lots of dirt and debris, a salty rim formed all around the pool, and the machine beeping saying there was way too much salt. I assumed they were coming back and would not leave their customers' pool like this over the weekend. Especially when they said the work would be done this week! After about an hour, I reached out with pictures and videos asking when this was going to be corrected. I sent numerous texts, phone calls, and emails over a two hour period. Finally someone responded and told me that this was completely normal and that the salty rim would be filtered out, and that the rest of the work would be done the following week! Keep in mind the machine was telling me our pool had twice the safe limit. I'm not sure whether they just do not know how to service a saltwater pool, or if they are just that negligent, but this company should not be trusted in your home. They also had the audacity to send me a bill for work that I had to hire another company to come out and fix/ complete. Our new company was APPALLED at the condition our pool was left in and has encouraged us to report them to the State. Save yourself the headache and avoid this company at all costs.

They damaged our salt chlorine generator, drained our pool without permission, put 3x the maximum amount of salt allowed by the generator, and blatantly lied about the service they performed. My pool and pavers was left dirtier than it was before they started the job, and we have had to hire another company and spend money to fix their negligence and mistakes. Instead of acknowledging they did anything wrong, they would rather go to war with their customers. We filed a credit card dispute with American Express, and they are attempting to illegally workaround the dispute by hiring a third party collections/ lien to threaten us. We have hired a lawyer and gotten law enforcement involved for this matter, as this is highly fraudulent. Considering they continue to stand on their job well done, please review the photos and videos of our "acid washed" pool and pavers and judge for yourself. We are looking forward to exposing all this company's games.

Tropics Pool and Spa has been servicing my pool for over 2 1/2 years. Prior to Brian Ghibaudy and…read morehis brother Chris taking care of the pool I never had the consistency and care pool owners need once a week without having to come home where there was someone that had not showed up, consistently having to waste money on pool pump repairs and the irresistible communication of letting us know when something needed to be done BEFORE there is a problem. Since Tropics has been working with us, it has been all "smooth swimming". Brian is always a phone call away and he and his brother Chris, who actually comes every week are extremely PROACTIVE and always lets me know if something is needed WITHOUT doing unnecessary work that wastes money. In fact they always find ways to save us money. Well, taking it a big step further I asked Brian if he could redo my pool and spa which had needed work for the longest time. Surface was worn, heater broken to the spa, 18 year old lights that did not work, and a filter system that did not adequately clean the pool. In addition the tile and grout was a mess. Hardly ever used the spa, until now. Brian is a very responsible and straight forward individual that I knew I could trust. I really had a budget in my mind and was honest to let him know what we could spend. There is always a fine line between trying to save money on a project like this and maintaining quality. Because Tropics work with the same people to do these jobs, we met in the middle without sacrificing quality that years down the road we would be sorry for. In fact I was able to add a couple features I never planned on after seeing his showroom in Pompano to pick out and price to make the pool even more desirable. By knowing the people he has worked with for bigger jobs on pools and spas, Brian was able to recommend features that over the years have been developed to make the workings of the pool, heater, lights and pool features more convenient to use, without the hassles of intricate wiring problems. In the recent years, technology has changed and he is quite in the know of what the options are. For example, there has always been issues with controlling anything that had to use wiring, and the new technology now can be integrated with Wi Fi and can use with your Mobile Phone. From anywhere, I can turn on and off the pool filter, the spa, the lights and water return features and heater, and set the temperatures. Brian is very close with the company that does the work and I was surprised to find how less expensive it was than installing manual equipment to control this outside, and the convenience of doing it from anywhere is a plus. Brian will meet you at the showroom to help pick out tile, mosaics, and anything that a pool would need if it needs to be redone or upgraded. Relationships mean everything, and Brian has them. Regarding pool service, there is no question about dependability. In South Florida, there is always a negative attitude about the work ethic here, but Tropics is one that stands out, away from that. The monthly fee to service the pool is extremely reasonable and when I come home, I can definitely tell that Chris has been there. If I had to recite one sentence that describes Tropics Pool and Spa, it would be this. TROPICS POOL AND SPA DOES WHAT THEY SAY THEY ARE GOING TO DO. If something goes wrong? Brian is a phone call away and does not waste any time coming over. Tropics services mostly Broward and Palm Beach County, so if you are moving here and looking for a pool service or need a change, they are 5 stars all the way.

It was time, since it is an older pool built in the late 70's. We were price oriented and needed to stay below $8000 for our indoor 12,000-gallon pool. We liked Sal right away. He is a warm family man who pulled up in a clean company van, wore a clean shirt with his logo, was professional and treated us like family right from the start. This is important to us since we wanted someone who understood our daily needs with our two little senior rescue dogs. He made us feel comfortable with the whole process, the length of the project, who his crew was and when we could expect to be back swimming in the pool. A relationship with any worker here is very important to us since Midnight and Lailai are very friendly but can be anxious about strangers showing up to their favorite patio, early every day. The project was completed after a week and 1/2 and is perfect, and what a beauty it is now! Sal is thoughtful and very detailed, if he sees something is not perfect, he will mention it and get it right. Long after the project was completed, he came by to check the chemicals, water level and other details as well. We will hire him again to install a heat pump before November. We are sorry we do not have photos; they were erased by accident but there are many on Facebook and YouTube video. He is licensed and insured.
