So glad we stumbled across this Filipino restaurant. Most of the Filipino spots we know serve their food cafeteria style. PINAY Kitchen has a full menu with made to order dishes. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. We had the Kare Kare, Palabok, and Adobo. The Kare Kare needes just a touch of aalt, but after I added the Bagoong (shrimp paste) that the waitress provided, it was perfect. They also gave us complimentary cups of soup before our entrees came out. Everything was delicious and the food presentation was just beautiful. I highly recommend this place and plan to go back. I can't wait to try the Crispy Pata and Sinigang. Yummmmm.

The Tocino was the best I've ever had in this area. It tasted as good as what my wife and her family make. The garlic rice was perfect too. I'll definitely return now that I know the restaurant is so good! Friendly service too!

Went here on a Friday night. The place is deceptively huge. Didn't look like that from the facade of the strip mall where it's located. We had lumpiang Shanghai, lumpiang sariwa (Fred lumpia), pancit palabok and grilled chicken on sizzling plate. Everything we got was delicious. I especially liked the pancit palabok. The sauce on those noodles were just perfect. They gave a huge portion and I was happy to have a little bit of leftover which I as for breakfast the next day. I wish there were more people dining in since I don't want this place to go to restaurant heaven. I did see a few people do carry out. Food is really good. And so was the service. Will definitely go back.

Decided to try this Filipino restaurant to compare to one down the street. It's more of a dine-in feel except I was able takeout. I ordered the chicken adobo for my dad so I will find out what he thinks. Also ordered lumpia shanghai and was a bit disappointed. There was really no filling and all wrapper. Plus they were tiny. I have made this myself. I will say the taste was good. I did see a post for this lumpia and it definitely appeared more filled. I will give it another try. Thanks.

Food is great. Filipino vibe and clean. Prices of food are also justifiable. Make sure to try there Pork belly. Taste home

My dad and I visited my grandma and Pinay Kitchen was where she wanted to go for lunch. Let me tell you, this place has some of the best Filipino food we have ever had. This is coming from my dad who makes the most delicious food and my grandma who are both from the Philippines. We went on a Saturday lunch and it was steady. If you're dining in, don't expect very fast service. From what my grandma was saying the owner and her mom cook the food. The small wait didn't bother me because the food was delicious! We ordered palabok (rice noodle with shrimp sauce). As a kid, I have never been a fan of palabok, but this palabok made me change my mind about it! It wasn't too shrimpy and I really enjoyed the taste! Pork sisig was very good. I loved how it sizzles when it gets brought to you and make sure to stir the egg in. Lumpia. Filipino staple right here! This was a hit with my daughter. It's a bit thinner than what I'm used to but everyone makes it different and it was still good. Fresh lumpia is like a thin crepe wrapped in vegetables. Sauce was great. Chicken mami. I loved this soup!! It's like a Filipino style chicken noodle/ramen soup. It was so homey and the broth was excellent. Dinuguan. This one is for the brave who are unfamiliar with Filipino food. It's pork stew with pig's blood. I really have to be in the mood for this one and I usually just eat a few bites. Let me tell you, this was extra delicious! You probably wouldn't have known it was blood. This is my grandma's favorite! Can't forget to get sago which is like a sugary tea drink with boba and jelly. I didn't get to try the halo halo because I was too full. This place was hit the spot and left my belly so happy! Also... there's a stage for karaoke if you're into that, but we're Filipino... of course we are!

I was hanging out with my mother and I decided to take her to eat first before we go grocery shopping. This place is located off Minnieville Rd, across from Lowe's. Plenty of parking and as you walk in, it's very clean, spacious, a small stage on your right for karaoke and buffet display on your left. Alice the owner, will greet every customer with a smile. There's an all you can eat buffet every day except for Mondays between the hours of 10a-2p. There's a total of 9 variety dishes and what makes it unique is each day the menu changes. When we arrive, in the buffet line they were serving: white rice, garlic rice, pickled vegetable salad, pancit, chopsuey, sweet and sour fish fillet; pork menudo, Filipino chicken soup and dessert. Everything we try was very delicious especially the sweet and sour fish, chicken soup, garlic rice, dessert. The restaurant can catered and hold the capacity of 110. I will definitely make a return visit to try more dishes on that buffet line.

Was in the area for a church service and stopped by as I was craving a Filipino breakfast. Quite the entrance with a gallery of signed pictures from Filipino celebrity artists that have graced the place with their presence. Seems like they hold a lot of banquets and receptions as the place is pretty big. Was not very busy when I came (2pm ish) so I may have missed the rush, but ordered the breakfast longanisa with a side of the milk fish (Daing na Bangus) to-go. Shoutout to the waitress for putting some extra rice to accommodate the fish! Food was spectacular, came out fast, and service was excellent. I always feel welcomed when I'm there, great staff!

My boyfriend found this place on a TikTok and wanted to bring me (a very picky Filipino) who only loves her mother's cooking I've been spoiled by a mother who was given great talents don't be jealous Anywho about this place, As soon as you walk in Tita would greet you with a smile and give you menu's if you choose to dine and if not you can always order takeout. We wanted to stay so grabbed a table and I ordered the breakfast because they had all day Pinoy breakfast so I ordered the Daing na Bangus (Milkfish) it came with garlic rice, 2 eggs and cucumbers n tomatoes. I truly enjoyed my meal like being in my moms kitchen My son who loves all kinds of foods ordered the pork sisig (a traditional dish made out of pork goodness usually served as pulutan a bar snack) My son said it tasted good to him My boyfriend ordered the chicken bbq on a sizzling plate with white rice and he enjoyed it too We definitely recommend others to come try this place out for a homecooked authentic Filipino meal!!! They also have a grocery store right next door that I didn't get a chance to go into next trip to Woodbridge I definitely will On the weekends they even have fun activities like bingo, line dancing, and of course it's not a true Pinoy place if it didn't have karaoke Thank you to Pinay Kitchen for our hospitality and the delicious true Filipino meals

Food was very tasty and the matriarch who was cooking the food came out to see if we enjoyed everything or had questions. My friend had Filipino coworkers and she said the food reminded her of the items they would cook and bring in

So we actually came here during their grand opening. Was very excited to have yet another Filipino restaurant in our 'hood. Unfortunately our first experience was very disheartening. They were clearly unprepared for the volume of customers they encountered. Service was extremely slow - orders took 45 minutes on average on the Sunday afternoon we were there. Then the food was lackluster and they ran out of items on the menu. The best item they had was the halo-halo. All that being said, I thought it would be unfair to review them during their first week. Wanted to give them a chance...come back when they are not going through a crush of so many customers and have some time to work out the kinks. So...we came back tonight and sad to say they haven't improved much. All the food seems just off. Look...my wife is Filipino and we are very accustomed to Filipino food both in and outside of the Philippines. Our view is that their food lacks taste and prepared in a way that seems very bland. For the price they charge (which is very high by standard) and the fact that they are not "turo-turo" (food on warmers)...this food should be much better. It appears the owner(s) placed most of their focus on the karaoke stage...not the food. My hunch is they thought: "build the karaoke stage and they will come...". I might be completely wrong, but I think they will need to try harder or this place will not survive long.

Pinay Kitchen [PK]. (3 stars). From the owners of Pinay Sweet Creations & Pinay Grocery (in Dumfries/Woodbridge border) comes Pinay Kitchen. Disclaimer: This review is for their LUMPIA ONLY. I'm not of Filipino descent & my only exposure to Filipino food has been at family gatherings in Hawaii. However, the friends who made lumpia were from the Philippines & perhaps their method of making lumpia differs from the region PK emulates?? I decided to try PK since I heard they just opened but since there were NO photos or reviews, I went in with only the expectation that I'd get to have some lechon & lumpia. Spoiler Alert: PK does NOT currently serve lechon & the young gentleman at the counter said he highly doubts they ever will. :( PK is a nice & homey restaurant located in Woodbridge that does cook your meal when you order it. I prefer this method to the "cafeteria style" that Kababayan & Pinoy Express uses. Originally, I ordered the FRESH LUMPIA. When it arrived, the "lumpia" was wrapped in a wax paper which steamed the tortilla even further. As I removed the paper, the entire "lumpia" fell apart. The kitchen staff saw this & rushed over to apologize. I was definitely NOT expecting a flour tortilla. My assumption was wrong when I thought FRESH lumpia meant they made it in house. After a dismal first order, I decided to order the LUMPIA SHANGHAI (with pork & shrimp) which is deep fried & more like what I'm used to. My order came out with a gigantic bowl of sauce which was slightly sweet & tangy. While the fry on these lumpia were good, the filling wasn't what I personally care for. The lumpia Shanghai filling tastes like & looks like a pork & shrimp breakfast sausage that was wrapped in the lumpia wrapper & deep fried. Again, perhaps this is another way of making lumpia... I just didn't really care for the texture. Staff was very friendly & PK does have sweet treats such as Ube pandesal which are brought in from their Pinay Sweet Creations Store. I wanted to try their Pork Kare Kare but I had an appointment to get to so I'll come back to try some of their other dishes & update my thoughts... Parking is available in a shared lot. I do wish PK well.

It was difficult for me to give a fair rating for the food. Even though the last time I had Filipino food was 5 years ago, I have been spoiled in the past with the finest Filipino food in the world cooked by some of the finest & most humble chefs I ever met. The food at Kababayan was so so or good for my first experience in tasting their food despite being rated as the best Filipino food in the area in some reviews. Everything was well seasoned, and I was only disappointed in one entree. I was hoping to try the traditional roasted succulent lechon or Laing. Laing, is a Filipino dish of shredded or whole taro leaves with meat or seafood cooked in thick coconut milk spiced with labuyo chili, lemongrass, garlic, shallots, ginger, and shrimp paste. They both were unavailable. The food is displayed like a buffet style arrangement. You select the entrees and side when you order a combination of entrees & side dish. It would have helped to have a sign describing each entree with its name. The lady helping me in selecting entrees was very kind and went into detail of each entree. I ordered two entrees with rice and two entrees with pancit noodles. The price for two entrees with rice or noodles was $15. A fair and good price for the amount of food provided. The traditional pancit noodles & dinuguan tasted the best and were the most generous portions served to me, and were the closest to my past food experiences with these traditional Filipino foods. I would have loved some calamansi, the citrus Philippine lemon, to season my pancit. That is how I prefer my pancit. They instead provided me lemon wedges to season my pancit as an option for the calamansi though. The pancit was good and like the pancit I would eat at Filipino parties & gatherings. The dinuguan was delicious & is always an acquired taste. I like to eat it once in a blue moon. It was the first food I ate completely. The pork adobo and sweet & sour pork entrees tasted good yet I was unfamiliar with them. They didn't taste like the traditional roasted lechon pig I was accustomed to in the past. I stashed them away in glass containers in the fridge to eat later along with the pancit & chicken adobo. The most disappointing was the chicken adobo. The taste of chicken adobo was good but it was annoying to pick out the broken & chopped bone pieces out of the chicken adobo to prevent accidentally swallowing them. This restaurant is worth checking out. The entrees are always changing there. I will probably come back here again to try different foods I haven't tried.

The chicken adobo here is tender, fall-off-the-bone perfection, but the real star is the sauce. Mang Eton really needs to provide some printed menus. While the online menu does contain descriptions, the online descriptions don't necessarily match what is available. Anyways.... For a starter, we ordered the siomai. These were plump and tasty. We wish they would give more of the excellent dipping sauce than the tiny thimble of sauce that they do give you. Note: the combo meals also include a couple pieces of siomai. I ordered the Combo #1, which came with a piece of fried chicken, 2 lumpia, shrimp chips, rice and pancit. The lumpia had an excellent flavor. The fried chicken and pancit were okay. JP ordered the Combo #3. The only difference between the Combo #1 and Combo #3 is that the Combo $3 comes with fish instead of chicken. It also comes with a skewer of meat (pork?), which was good. We were the only non-Filipino customers. I plan on coming back to try the halo-halo dessert and to order some more yummy siomai.

They have a seating area and a restroom available. They also sell Filipino snacks and other items, kind of like a bodega or corner store, which reminded me of places in New York. The food was great and the service was friendly and patient, especially since it was my first time. I ordered what I thought was a 1 item-entree, but it turned out to be a 3-entree meal. I swapped rice for pancit (a small upcharge), and also got beef, 3 chicken kebabs, and freshly made lumpia. Everything came out to about $30, and I still had leftovers, which was a great value. I'll definitely be coming back.

There are many options to choose from and all of your dishes come with rice. The restaurant has a very laid-back vibe and homey feel. There is indoor seating available for dining Inn as well as outdoor seating and what looks like a former home off of Livingston Road The food is very flavorful and most importantly, seasoned The pancit canton (filipino stir-fry noodles), barbecue on a stick, fried fish, dinuguan, menudo, and my favorite.....fresh lumpia transports me back to a trip I was able to experience in Manila years ago. They also have a market with packaged foods, refrigerated meals and grocery goods like chips, Asian/Filipino snacks, candy and baked goods like....steamed buns and ube cake to go. I grabbed an order of the frozen 7 Lumpia rolls to go to cook at home later this week during one of pretend to be Food Network "Next Top Chef" nights after work...lol. They offered them in a set of 7, 18 , and even larger. Both the chicken and pork lumpia options, are delicious! In all, this place is an outstanding family owned small business with a great selection of both prepared and grocery type . The dishes are authentic and very well prepared. The price point is great too and the servings are generous. I highly recommend you give this place a try when in the area.
