Unlike other stores, every item is clearly labeled so no fun price surprises at the cash register. They have a very good selection of beer, and if they don't have what you're looking for, they will order it for you! They also gave me a 10% discount for ordering a case. The Belgian beer I get is 5 cents more across the street at Trader Joes (big whoop) but the 20 minutes Of peace I gain by not having to venture into that madness and wait in line is priceless:) plus trader joe's only has but 1 flavor.

Yes, I can walk down the street to Blanchard's and have a much wider selection, for slightly cheaper, but when I'm buying some onions and some bread, this is a very convenient way to grab a six (or four) pack, or a couple bottles of wine. Michael. Michael is simply a genius when it comes to wine and the insights that he shares with his customers are fascinating and incredibly helpful. I've walked away each time with a greater appreciation and understanding of wine in general, and have thoroughly enjoyed our conversations. This has quickly become my "go-to" store and you'd be hard pressed to find someone as knowledgable as Michael. Importantly, you'll walk out knowing you made a quality purchase without having exceeded your budget, and that's always a recipe for success. Go, and ask for Michael - you won't regret it.

The wooden decor is classy, the guys that work at the counter are ALWAYS friendly, and the prices are great, especially for the area. In a world doing as much as it can to take advantage of college kids (and their wallets), this is a breath of fresh air. Dara's has a great selection beer, some local brews, seasonal stuff. They have your standard vodkas, liquors, mixers, wines- but I've found unexpected gems in here. I really enjoy some things most college kids don't touch- the first being absinthe, which I found for a fair price. The second is sake, and there's also a decent selection of that in Dara's near the wines. I once found this amazing lychee sake with the perfect amount of sweetness. Overall, considering the location (convenient), decor (almost too classy for the neighborhood), selection (great for it's size and location), and service (fantastic), 5/5.
