I have just recently moved to Arizona as a retiree in the San Tan Valley area, south of Phoenix…read more The water in this area is really hard and mineralized. We went on line and checked out a few water softener companies. Ultimately, after a short phone visit, we went with Sweetwater Systems. They are a small family owned company in Phoenix. So, about three weeks ago Sweetwater installed an under the sink reverse osmosis system, which was also connected to our refrigerator for cold drinking water and ice. They also installed a whole house filtration system which is essentially a carbon filter (to remove chlorine and chemicals) and a water softener unit to soften the water. The units were placed in a corner of my garage, taking up very little space. I could have gone with just the softener unit and saved some money, but the carbon filter unit was important to my wife and I to filter out any chemicals in the water. The whole set up was top of the line, American made, and the units (two canisters and a brine tank) look exceptionally nice. If I could insert a photo, I would. Tom and Travis were on time, polite, professional, and patiently took time to explain the mechanics of both the R/O system as well as the whole house water conditioning system. They tested all the units to make sure everything was working correctly, cleaned up after they finished the install, and gave me their business cards in case I had any questions later and needed to visit further with either of them. Unlike many businesses that move on and forget the customer after the sale is made, I know I can call them if I have any problems down the road. It's pleasant to do business with a company that doesn't high pressure you or try the bait and switch routine. These guys tested the water for hardness, gave us their opinion on what systems would work best for us based on expected usage, gave us equipment options and pricing, and helped us design the system that best serves our needs. There was no hard sell. They weren't the lowest priced vendor we checked out, but knowing they are ethical and only a phone call away should we have any issues is "priceless". After nearly three weeks of usage, I'm very satisfied with the systems. My wife is elated that there is no spotting on the dishes and we can now drink our own filtered water without having to buy a case of bottled water at the store every week. Five stars to Sweetwater. At the time of install, I asked the installer if there was any maintenance that I needed to do on the system. He said, "You may need to occasionally replace the filter on the RO system." Now, my RO System has been losing pressure so quickly that I can't even fill a glass of water. I called the Service number, from the website, several times and emailed the contact on the website and received no response. After finally getting in touch with a service technician on my 4th attempt, I was told my warranty was void because I didn't have the system serviced within the 1st year after install, which I was never told I needed to do. After further inquiring about how to fix the issue either by myself or with a service call, the technician hung up on me. Another example of a warranty is only as good as the company that stands behind it.

The second time I was home and got to meet the whole team and they were awesome! With the 2nd leak, which was a neighbor refusing to cover the damages, they were super patient with payment, looping my litigation team in, and providing competitive pricing. In addition to their restoration team, Tiffany from the main office and billing department was super hands-on and quick to return my calls. Leaks suck, but call them, cause they don't suck. :]

This review is for the first one, a bedroom ceiling/roof leak that needed mold mitigation, asbestos testing and renovation. March 2025: Leak originally started as a moisture spot on the ceiling in October 2024 but my HOA ignored it. By March 2025, the ceiling had become so compromised that water streamed in like a waterfall during a massive storm. My original contact was Noah - he gave me an estimate (along with two other companies). I really appreciated how Noah was communicative, informative and thorough. And! he didn't badger me w/ phone calls & emails, like the other two companies did. He understood that I said I would take care of the situation when I could b/c I was in the middle of Massage Therapy school. I understood the "risks" of having mold & just shut the bedroom off. Fast forward to August 2025 & now we're ready to take care of the situation. Noah followed protocol of getting an asbestos test first. Luckily, it was negative. Then Spencer, their Mitigation Specialist? built a special containment room, inside the guest bedroom that sealed off the contaminated area. Heavy duty fans stayed on for about 72 hours? so the area could be thoroughly dried after being treated w/ some kind of mold treatment. Noah was available via text when I had questions - that was surprising & super helpful! Once Mitigation was completed, Noah connected me w/ Jacob at their Restoration Department. He sent over a stellar crew led by David & they proceeded to rebuild about a quarter of the bedroom - meant to mention that they had to rip out dry wall, scaffolding, etc. This crew rebuilt and then refinished the area, including re-installing wainscotting and painting the ceiling + walls. The results? This bedroom looks gorgeous! We were thrilled with how thorough/smooth ATH was w/ this process & how the renovation turned out. Highly recommend this company for their professionalism, flexibility and high standards. Thanks to the ATH Team!

I would recommend Emergency Flood Team to anyone who has experienced water damage and needs a company they can rely on and communicate with. The team made feel at ease right away, and answered every question I had about the drying process and the removal of affected areas. Not everyone is able to handle jobs that involve asbestos, and they made me immediately confident that they knew exactly what they were doing. One issue after another over a two-month period in which they were hired to restore and reconstruct two relatively small areas damaged by a water leak at a residential condo. Talking out of both sides of their mouth, a host of ongoing missteps from the beginning, more damage caused to our property with deflection of accountability and questionable integrity leaving details outlined on the scope of work incomplete despite the presentation of photographic evidence. With respect to just one of the many issues that ensued, it took three separate visits from three different techs to try and resolve one damaged item they caused. They couldn't figure it out, deflected blame to the age of the item, and deemed it "unrepairable." Ultimately, a licensed handyman was brought in to follow their trail of incompetence and make the repair. The handyman's repair efforts took just over an hour of time at a reasonable cost, and it's been working fine since. Some uncertainty about why their license was not active on the front end of the vetting process and vague details provided about their relationship with EA Restoration. Once their AZ Registrar of Contractors license was reinstated, the contract was executed with Phoenix Fire and Flood. However, several representatives showed up with branded clothing and vehicles reflecting EA Restoration, and none with Phoenix Flood and Fire. The initial referral to this company was to a person named Ryan who was said to the owner, but he was never in the equation. Instead, Cavin stated he was the owner and managed the effort poorly. If we had to do it again, we'd never use them. The only reason one star has been chosen for this review is because at least one star needs to be selected to submit. Otherwise, it'd be zero stars.

After the installation, I had my water independently tested, and the results showed that the water was no better than the water coming straight from my outdoor hose. So I paid for a water treatment system that, based on my testing, isn't even doing what I was told it would do. To make matters worse, the system leaks water all over my garage floor. I contacted the owner, and he repeatedly promised to come out and fix it. He never did. Eventually, he simply stopped responding to me altogether. I was left with no choice but to hire a reputable company to come out and fix the problems and replace parts that had failed. So not only did I pay this company for a system that isn't performing as promised, but I also had to pay another company to fix the mess. Sadly it is still leaking and I have to have another company come out again which will cost me another $400! In my opinion, this company is a complete waste of money. The equipment is cheap, it breaks, it leaks, and when you need the owner to stand behind his warranty, he disappears. This has cost my family even more money because I had to pay a legitimate company to do what the original owner promised to do and never did.I feel completely ripped off. You have been warned: DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY unless you want to flush your money down the toilet and potentially pay twice to get the job done right. Do yourself a favor and spend your money with a reputable company that actually stands behind its equipment and warranty.
