After getting very little information from the brother, he eventually provided the contractor's contact information. Instead, they wasted my time by ghosting me after we had already scheduled an appointment. Needless to say, the ADU was built, passed all inspections easily, and we were able to complete it and move in before the baby came. These were fairly big projects but Arturo will do smaller jobs as well if needed. Acc did everything they said they would and stayed within the budget that was proposed and it was done on time. They also did a complete bathroom remodel and kitchen remodel in our own home. You name it, they can do it, plans, concrete, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and anything general construction. Arturo and his company are a pleasure to work with and I won't hesitate to work with him again. Thanks a lot Arturo for all the work you did for us. Mark Baerg

Cantera was the most down-to-earth and realistic in terms of discussing what the job would entail AND the most reasonably priced. Others were mostly slick sales people who were big on presentation but light on actual knowledge. And they came with huge price tags. We chose to work with Isac from Cantera and are so happy we did. He was honest, reliable, and willing to go the extra mile to make sure the end result was what we expected. He didn't cut corners, and his entire crew was competent, hard-working and friendly. Isac was very responsive, always showed up as promised, and completed the job in a timely manner. Also a good problem solver! Couldn't be more satisfied!! I was deflated and feeling skeptical it could be fixed, but he solved it! I look back and think it's a miracle and a testament to Armando's 1. critical problem solving skills and 2. skill and experience, 3. work ethic, and 4. love of his job. 3 roofers couldn't figure the issue out at all including the original roofer, and the 4th roofer I suspect did not want to do the work. The end product of the repair is beautiful and flawless and of the highest quality - he took great effort to match the exact paint/stucco color in the repair (yet another testament to him wanting to do the repair RIGHT, once and for all). We feel indebted to Armando and now will use him for any future repairs to our house. With his more than reasonable rates, I think he by far blows the competition in the Monterey/Carmel/Pebble area out of the water.

Oscar was highly recommended to us by our realtor, Michelle Vivenzi and we are truly happy for all the work he has completed for us. Oscar has helped us with design ideas and has performed work transforming a concrete slab and dirt backyard into a beautiful outdoor patio with pavers and a bbq kitchen, pergolas, fire pit, terraced planters, and French drains. He completed several remodeling jobs for us, built a new retainer wall the length of the driveway and back. Turned a downstairs open living area into a beautiful primary bedroom with an en-suite bathroom, built in closets. Then remodeled a dated guest bathroom with new flooring, new bathtub/shower area, and all that was necessary as you can imagine in an old bathroom. There are other jobs, laundry room remodel, built outdoor fence and gate in front, basically updated a house built in the 60's with impeccable quality of work. Oscar has been very helpful in times of emergencies with the extreme rainfall and power outages Carmel has encountered in the past couple of years. His crew is a group of talented, courteous, hard working and reliable individuals that we have come to really like and trust the superior quality of work in each and every job. He has provided our electrical, plumbing, wood working, painting, tiling, countertops, etc. We highly recommend Oscar Vargus Construction for new build and remodeling work. He has always come in before or on time. We can actually say he and his family, and his crew are friends now. We've worked with many other contractors over the years on other jobs and cannot say the same. We highly recommend Oscar and his company. I wish I had more before and after pictures to post.

Asked for a deposit and immediately cashed the check. Oscar guys work is very sloppy, inability to follow install instructions and plans have led to some issues with my kitchen remodel. He didn't communicate with the tile company for delivery of the material which caused a delay, pretty much stopping working for 2 weeks. After spending alot of money on cabinets instead of using a hole saw to cut holes for plumbing they made jagged lopped sided holes. When they were cutting the base board and crown molding they choose to do it 10 feet from the front door but we're too lazy to close the door so saw dust covered every surface of the house. They layed down construction paper on the floors but what ever tape they used damaged my hard wood floors and now there 2 distinct lines running across the floor. Either didn't read or follow the directions on the dishwasher install so when I went to first use it the kicker board broke off. Said he ordered a replacement and would be back to install along with a cabinet door and has since become a ghost won't return calls or texts. The control panel was broken on the ventilation hood unfortunately didn't see how it was broken but I suspect it was during the unboxing process, careless workers that don't read instructions. He'll get the job done but his quality of work is not good. Would definitely reccomend not using him
