We were able to make an appointment the day prior online which made things so easy! The website was easy to navigate and there were plenty of times to choose from. We were greeted and taken care of immediately by Alyssa. She was so kind and accommodating from start to finish. My 2 year old son is autistic and this was his first real haircut. His dad had butchered it at home so we needed to get it fixed asap. She led us into the play room where my son was most comfortable with with all the toys and quietness. She took him right on time and explained the process. She was so quick about the whole haircut, used a calm voice and had a reassuring demeanor and she had animal crackers ready! My son for the most part handled it well but she made it so much easier and less painful than it would've been. So thank you! We are truly appreciative and will be back for future cuts! read more

I wish they would be willing to try another stylist only when we can't make the schedule work for her availability but I'm okay with it because she is worth the wait. We had an appointment today at 3. When we got there they introduced us to who was going to be cutting my 2 year olds hair. I tried to say hi and she acted like she couldn't be bother barely even looking up from her cell phone. Once we get my son in the chair I tell her he did well the last time we came here and he even did well with the smaller more quiet clippers. She proceeded to pull out full sized clippers and when my 2 year old started to get overwhelmed and start crying she kept getting frustrated to the point of saying to me and my husband that if he can't act right then she will have to clipper his whole head. I don't understand how you can be a place that specifically cuts children's hair but doesn't have patience for them. I'm beyond frustrated at how unprofessional it was. read more

Took my one year old there for his first hair cut. I asked the lady to just take enough off his bangs so he could see and she cut 3 inches off in a jagged, choppy manner while he was screaming in my arms. I actually never gave her the go ahead to cut it. She wasn't interested in talking through options with us and made it obvious that she thought his hair should be short, not long how i wanted it. I left feeling defeated and cried in the parking lot. She took off so much of his hair leaving his bangs in a right angle on the sides. She then realized that she didn't save any hair for us to bring home so she just snipped hair off the top of his head. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars and not 1 is because when we went back, Allison, the manager was very helpful and understanding and offered to fix it as much as she could so it wasn't as bad while growing back in. It's not shorter than i ever wanted, but at least allison was able to make him look semi-normal. I'm so sad that our first child's first haircut is now remembered as an upsetting experience. My niece took her son for his first haircut there and it was not a good experience at all. Not engaging, not professional, not good with kids at all!!! Upon arrival there was no warming welcome, just what time is your appt and here sit him down there. Immediately she sprayed the poor childs head with a squirt bottle and he of course lost it. She ignored this and kept on cutting his hair while he was screeching. My niece was horrified but she is the quiet type and just endured the experience. After getting him home she noticed that the cut was horrible not what you would expect from a professional who should have had a ton of experience in cutting children's haircuts. I felt so bad for her having to just sit there and just waiting for this to be over and in the end his first little haircut was bad. They should be glad that i was not there. read more

I had reservations about going here but despite my gut instinct I went anyway. My 2.5 year old girl had long beautiful hair that had never been cut but she hated me brushing or styling it so we decided to get her a bob haircut before she started preschool. I told the stylist to do a chin length bob, she said okay, and then just started hacking at her hair with no real technique or care. When I asked her to stop cutting, my girl had a choppy Dutch boy haircut, longer and very sloppy in the back. I also wanted to save a good amount of her hair but because of how sloppy it had been cut there was barely a salvageable chunk. The little bit of hair that was saved I tried to straighten out so it could be tied in a ribbon for a baby book, but it was handed to the woman at the front counter who took it and shoved it into a tiny ziplock bag, now it's a tangled squished mess. We had to pay for a second haircut at a different salon to have my baby's hair fixed, it now looks great and the woman who fixed it was appalled by what had been done. This place could be doing so much better by their customers and for their own reputation if the stylists would just take their time and actually try a little harder to execute good haircuts. Just because they're doing kids cuts doesn't mean the work shouldn't be taken just as seriously as an adult cut. Trust this and the other reviews, this place is not good and will leave you very disappointed. read more

2nd visit - Hailey was not available. The stylist was nice. The haircut looked ok at first glance but after we got home I could see it was horribly crooked. I did not want to take her back. My mother (who has no professional hair cutting experience) was able to fix it. We won't return unless Hailey is working. 1st visit - We took our daughter for her first haircut today. I was a little nervous based on some of the other Yelp reviews, but our stylist, Hailey, was great. She was very friendly, talked to our daughter, and did exactly what we wanted. So this place has seriously downgraded in terms of Customer Service. I went in today and despite the high volume of traffic in the parking lot, this place was a dead zone, That should have been hint #1. There were 3 people there but I'm not entirely sure that the 3rd person actually worked there. He conversed with the girls up until the point that I opened the doors then sat quietly in a corner and never said a word the entire time I was there. I checked in and and while doing so you could tell by the demeanor of the "stylist" she was not to happy to be doing any actual work. She was very abrupt, her body language was off putting and her and the receptionist seemed to have some sort of secret code or something because every time I looked away eye and hand movement followed. The receptionist tried very hard to be exciting and welcoming but it felt very much like she was overcompensating for her coworkers lack of professionalism. I've been here several times in the past, just not in the last couple months but I definitely will not be coming back. My Original Review: Anew spot in Willow lawn, great place to get your little ones haircut, nails painted, wish, curl and blow dry. Depends on stylist. Many are very good with the kids and layout with chairs and toys are great. Plus they will pretend to cut my younger child's hair when big brother needs a hair cut. If you value your child's hair, do not go here! For our son's first haircut we decided to check this place out because someone recommended it. It has cute cars for the kids to sit in and seemed fun. When it was our turn I let the hair dresser know it was his first haircut and that he only needed a light trim because he has beautiful hair. She used the scissors to cut his bangs and then butchered the back of his hair (and he was still the whole time)! Instead of having length in the back, she cut it all up his neck and almost to his ear line- what's even worse is that it wasn't straight, it goes down at a sharp angle. I tried to have her fix it but she was rude. The whole time she was rushing through the cut, rude to my husband and I, and she destroyed my son's hair- this is all one week before his birthday party. If you do visit, avoid the older lady with short red-ish hair!!! I am devastated. Never coming back read more

This morning my 3 year old granddaughter and I visited this location after she had trimmed her hair several times with safety scissors. Kara very expertly evened it up to collar length in the back and arranged the bangs in a side part that looked wonderful! She showed me how to make sure the part was in the correct place for best results , and we left with smiles and a lollipop! I have been to this salon many times over the last 9 years and generally, it is fine for small children who need distractions while someone cuts their hair. I was exceptionally pleased today! These hairdressers are magical! They put the child in one of the car chairs with a movie on and go to town on their cut/style. My 2 1/2 year old child was STILL and QUIET for perhaps the 1st time in his life and it was a great haircut! Hailey was our stylist and she was awesome. We will definitely be coming back. It's also easy to entertain your child if you have to wait with snacks or the train station table that is provided. The incentive for getting the kid through the haircut is a toy of choice from the treasure chest. We picked a toy lizard. read more

We love getting our haircut by Liticia! We always call ahead to make sure she is there. The first time Liticia cut my son's hair, she checked in with me (Mom) throughout the cut to make sure I was happy; at the end, she wrote down on a card what she had done so it could easily be replicated. But I don't even have to pull the card out when we come in because she remembers us! She's great with kids; she has special tricks for getting them to sit still and stay happy. She really is the best! We love the train table and the treasure chest of goodies to pick from at the end. The place is always clean and smells of delicious hair products. My advice is to go during "off" hours--during lunch when most kids will be at home or napping, or showing up FIRST thing on the weekend as lines can get long. read more

My husband and I take our son to the Midlothian location and have always had a great experience. Tara is wonderful, gentle with our 3 year old, and gives a great cut. Our son gets the full experience when he's in Tara's able hands. Based on our experience with P&C Midlothian, we decided to give the Willow Lawn location a try. We had a short wait, but J kept himself entertained with the train set until it was his turn. Keith was the stylist available so asked J to pick a chair. Like any 3 year old, he took a moment to decide and the look on Keith's face was a look of obvious frustration. J sat in the fire truck and watched Bubble Guppies on the tv. He wasn't excited about the cut, but was ok. Keith started to cut his hair after dismissing my wishes for how I wanted it cut, and it became obvious that it was headed downhill. He cut the left side and left it with huge chunks taken out. As he made his way to the back, J started getting upset and Keith kept huffing and was obviously annoyed-he even said to me "I don't think I can finish this today" to which I responded "well it has to be finished because it looks terrible." He kept going, very slowly (not good for small children) and cut himself, it was at that point that he quit on his haircut. My 3 year old was extremely upset. Keith obviously did not know how to handle small children and say what you will, but I am a firm believer that children sense attitudes, and it was clear that my son sensed his. Frankly, it seemed as if he decided that it wasn't going to work from the moment J was selecting a chair. He turned J over to Ron who cut his hair despite his ridiculously loud screams and me practically holding him down. The sad thing is that Ron told me that it wouldn't have taken as long, but he had to fix what Keith messed up. My little guy who usually loves haircuts and had never acted that way before, is now terrified of getting a haircut because of a guy who should not be working in a child's salon. Ron gave us 1/2 off, which wasn't necessary and the receptionist offered the owner's contact information. I didn't accept the number at first because I didn't think it was necessary, but then called back and requested the information because I believe Ron should be commended. I also believe that Keith should find another job. The worst part, the owner apparently doesn't care enough to call me back. I'm just so sad, because what has been an enjoyable experience at a cute salon catered to children, is now a terrifying thing for my little guy. (1 star reflects the overall experience taking Ron out of the equation, if I had gone in and just experienced Ron then I would've given 5 stars. They have a lot there to distract the toddlers & kids when they are getting their hair cut. Special car shaped chairs to sit in, a train table, toy dinosaurs, a movie on the tv in front of them. We went to the willow lawn location Saturday morning - was greeted nicely by one of the hairstylists, but the receptionist was totally aloof, clearly not wanting to be there. She seemed bothered I was there waiting for her to finish scrolling through her personal phone notifications real quick before having to answer to me. There have been some fantastic stylists in the past, however my experience today was horrible. It was busy, and I'm willing to wait since the movies and activity room can hold a pre schooler's attention. After an hour, (quoted 30 min), it was finally our turn. The hairdresser was polite but the cut was horrible. Crooked bangs, crooked neckline. The word amateur is an understatement. The other stylist took my daughter and completely shredded her layers and cut it backward (top layer longer than the bottom). $18.95 per amateur cut is robbery. I paid but have never felt so irritated with the lack of service and skill. We have had good experiences in the past, but the stylists today - amateur is an understatement. Never have a written such a review, scathing as it is, but need to find another place this week to fix their hair. . read more

Awful. My poor baby is walking around with bangs less than halfway down her forehead cut out of her hairline. They are so thin that we can't even get the part out of them. The woman who cut her hair did not even consult with me about how to do her hair. I went to set down my other child who had just gotten her hair done and this lady had already cut these awful bangs into her hair. I have been here a few times and agree that haircuts are very inconsistent depending on who is actually doing the cut. My son has had 3 decent haircuts there. However, every time my daughter has had her cut there it was rather mediocre and this most recent trip we left with uneven hair where pieces hadn't even been cut and it was generally uneven and choppy. (I plan on taking her somewhere else to fix it for fear of it just getting worse) Her hair looked like I took kitchen scissors and just cut straight across. If you pull it back in a pony tail you can see every blunt layer and it looks awful. I would NOT recommend brining your daughter here. However, I have always been pleased with their boy cuts. The set up is ideal for small children and they have experience with squirmy kids. Just beware that there is some risk involved, especially with girl haircuts. read more
