I stopped here mostly because they had a Little Free Library according to the website, but the LFL seems to have been removed. So while I'm visiting, I checked out the store and bought some snacks. This seems like a relatively new store even if Dashawn's review was two years ago. It is clean and the floors are still bright. Merchandise is well stocked and the produce looked good. Prices are quite decent. Perhaps a little higher than Walmart but definitely lower than Harris Teeter. Good quality and a good selection. I'm not really a Piggly Wiggly dedicated customer, I went there in hopes of finding something different for dinner. No "hellos", no "can I help you", no "thank you", no nothing. Today the prices are skyrocketing but at PW, they are OVER skyrocketing, it's almost to the point of price gouging. If you're looking for clean, this is the place, it is very clean inside but maybe it's clean inside because people don't want to go there because it's not the friendliest place I've been and even the cash register (self-checkout) isn't friendly, I couldn't remember where to enter my customer ID, finally found it... I also dropped my item on the scanner and we had an error, I had to wait until a group of workers that were talking about music on the checkout line beside me!! Finally she (I'm guessing the front end manager) saw that we needed help, after my husband said "yep, we're waiting on assistance" because the register says "please wait for assistance". She walked closer to the register but never came over and never said a thing and went back to her friends/workers and continued talking about music. I was at the store on 10/16/25 at 11:51AM R024. This is a wonderful small town grocery store. They have pretty much anything you would need and the kids that work here are always super nice kids! They are helpful with taking groceries to your car. They have a hot bar for lunch if you want some down home country meals. read more

I am disappointed. While I appreciate the selection of items in your store, I do not work at this store. I detest self-checkout! When I was a teenager, I worked for a Piggly Wiggly store. I am now in my forties. I am no longer inclined to work for a grocery store for entry level pay. I certainly do not wish to do your job for free! I was LIVID to learn that, toward the end of the business day, all of the cashiers close their registers and self-checkout is all that is available. DO BETTER PIGGLY WIGGLY! Instead of buying these computerized contraptions to make me do your job, you should have purchased a Wi-Fi router for public use. read more

The cashiers are nice, the baggers are nice. The best cashiers to go to are Kiki, Nadia, and Nolin. The best baggers are Tyler, Campbell, David, Landon, and Gracin. The manager, Amanda, is very sweet and nice. The meat is very good-looking. It's the best out of all the other 4 pigs in Kinston. Talk to peanut in the meat department. He is the main butcher and very good at it. Although with all that being said, the store manager Cody Howard is not a great fit for his position. From what I've seen firsthand on several occasions, he doesn't know how to use a cash register. Also, he rarely helps his employees when they are busy. Also, he isn't very sweet to them, seeming like he is always in a bad mood. I tried to ask him for help one day when I was trying to find a specific bag of chips, and when I asked him for help, he didn't acknowledge me. He looked up at me and then got back to what he was doing, which was messing with stuff on a shelf. Also I overheard a conversation between a cashiers and I'm guessing a new bagger boy at the time, that they are not supposed to double bag your groceries unless told specifically to do so or if they ask the customer if they want it double bagged, which I find stupid because some customers, especially older customers, aren't always going to think to ask for heavy items to be double bagged. I've never been in this PIGGLY WIGGLY to shop , but I suppose it's a great store knowing this chains reputation. I have seen the store from the outside, it is nice.plenty of parking. I shop here because this is the ONLY Piggly Wiggly that delivers! Like all Piggly Wiggly stores you can't get fresher produce and meats at great prices. They have great prices for everything else. Everything is ok here down at The Pig. Ample parking space with a Cash Point ATM in the lot. Depending on who is your cell phone provider you may not got signal towards the back of the store. The store lighting isn't the best, and the aisles were stocked with what we needed on this trip. Associates were friendly, the one that did talk to us, an elderly cashier woman. The bagger didn't say a word and was distracted by something or someone, just not present. All in all, if you just need to get your food and get out, I recommend this location. read more

Came in to get a few things. When I approached the register, cashier was on his phone ( texting I assume) no big deal....Rang me up and I paid with my card. I asked "Yellow button fir credit"? He said yes, Always the yellow button. I said okay...there are no Piggly Wiggly's where I live in Raleigh. His responsewS "I hate Raleigh, Raleigh sucks". I said well I have lived there for 12 years...I love it. Interesting dialog. Thought it was little inappropriate to say to a customer...whether you liked it or not. Probably should have kept that to himself. Didn't know me at all and ranted on. I could have been a mystery shopper! As I continued to talk he actually cut me off and said have a good day and put my receipt in the bag. On top of that complained to another customer about his hours that he worked the day before and today. I did tell him if he is use to living in a smaller city/town, Raleigh may be overwhelming. Needs a little bit of a lesson on what to say and not to say in the presence of customers.... read more
