We usually are pretty picky about what we buy and Roman and his wife have been very helpful every step of the way. If you are looking for caviar Red or Black their prices are second to none and I would suggest listening to their advice when it comes to selection. Have never steered us wrong yet. If you ever in the area and need some food you should visit. I haven't been disappointed yet and I can fairly certainly say you won't be either.

We had stir-fried snails, jellyfish, Dungeness crab, live steamed fish, braised eggplant with fish fillet, stir-fried cauliflower with preserved meats, coral shrimp, sliced conch with crispy tofu, beef with string beans, seasonal vegetables, and fish maw soup. Everything came out hot, delicious, and well seasoned. The Dungeness crab was a standout, and it was refreshing to enjoy such a wide variety of seafood and traditional dishes. My wife was pleasantly surprised by the entire meal. The interior was nicely done and felt different from many other Chinese restaurants in Brooklyn. Service was attentive, and they seated us in a corner where we could enjoy our family conversation without constant interruption. The food came out very quickly, maybe a little too quickly, but we were fine with it. They were unfortunately out of a few fish and clam options, as well as several wines, but it did not take away from a great dinner. Highly recommended for a family-style Chinese seafood meal in Bay Ridge.

My favorite was their chicken, eggplant and salted fish claypot dish. It's one of my favorite dishes in general and they made it very well. Definitely will come here more often and will rec my family to try this place out for our next family event.

Service: we were greeted right away when we entered the store. They have seating inside but they also have some seating outside in the back. The guy at the register is super friendly, explained to us what they have as special and made recommendations. We ordered, paid and another server brought our food to the table when it was done. That server was also super friendly. We will definitely come back!

The grilled Bronzini was a nice size and it was really good but I had to ask if they would grill the other side. The fried snapper needed more seasoning for my taste but overall the food was good.

If you ask someone in the butcher shop for special cut or are they just going to put out plain sausage the answer is, "sorry I am going home", or "what we cut/we put out is available to you". You're also lucky to get an answerer when you interrupt them while on the phone or having a conversation with stock guys. Now let's talk of the cashiers -some are rude, don't know how to count and don't bag. (or feign they don't bag though the store policy is too bag). I look for the old timers when I go and I am avoiding shopping on the weekends as the most inexperienced unsupervised are manning the registers. The young managers are the worse. They are too busy talking about their last adventure, online interests, gossiping, talking about customers or general gripping. They don't monitor the cashiers and act offended when you complain about the service. Some of the new cashiers look away and ignore customers to avoid work. Recently when I approached the counter of a cashier doing nothing with her back to customers, and asked if she was opened, the answer was curt, and annoyed as" why do I dare ask". A simple yes would have sufficed. Oh, I forget, god forbid you give them $20.25 if the bill l is $10.25. They look at the quarter like it just landed from the moon on the latest meteorite. Oh, and don't give them a quarter after they post the $20 to the register. Somehow, they can't add the $9.75 and .25 to give you $10 back.

As you walk inside, you immediately notice the long stainless steel counter where a man stands expertly filleting something as though it's no big deal. On either side of the room, large cases full of ice reveal a plethora of sea creatures. Salmon, Tuna, Octopus, Scallops...Conch. Yes, conch. It's exotic. It's exciting. It makes me want to learn to be a better cook. The first time I came in, an Italian-accented fellow in front of me was buying up calamari, scallops, and shrimp. I immediately pictured a delicious seafood risotto and my mouth started to water. I wasn't that ambitious myself, but walked out of there with a decent sized salmon steak ($7.99/pound the day I went) that took me two days to eat. (Not that this is necessarily desirable with seafood, next time I'll buy a smaller portion). My next trip in I opted for a tuna steak ($11.99/pound). Both times, it was delicious. I'll never want for seafood again. Except for the fact that I'm supposedly cutting my food budget back.
