They even sent over email and text updates when they were on their way to my home. I ordered three kinds of fish for poke-- salmon, tuna, and hamachi. They came already diced in large pieces and extremely fresh. This alone lasted me over 4 meals throughout the week and was well worth the $19 just for the poke fish. I also ordered an enormous sashimi grade tuna loin that I used to make a delicious tuna tataki, and have so much leftover that I'm freezing the rest. The 1 lb of cod I got made for an amazing miso cod that I ate with my lunch all week as well. The tobiko I got came in a little jar and added a touch of sweetness and texture to my poke. I really couldn't be happier with the value and freshness of the fish from Pierless. Everything was packaged neatly and the cuts were so clean it made making fish at home so approachable. Free shipping for over $100- I was in their local delivery area tho so not sure if this changes if you are outside of queens. I imagine it is still free shipping over $100 but just fyi. Fish was really well packaged and the delivery was within the time slow. I got text updates as well. Great for fresh fish and sashimi!!! Pierless is a godsend during this pandemic! So far I have ordered twice and both times the seafood was incredibly fresh. All the seafood come in nice sealed packages and they even let you know via text when they are in the neighborhood with your delivery. First time I ordered trigger fish fillets, Carolina Shrimps and crawfish. Never made 2 of the 3 items before at home but with time on our hands, mighty as well experiment. The winner of this order was the trigger fish. I ordered 2lbs for 3 of us. We were able to get 2 meals out of it. First was easy pan fried filet. The second, blacked fish tacos. Both delicious, both devoured by the family. This week I ordered again and got fish for sashimi! Never done that before but after a few you tube videos we were off to experiment. The pandemic had all of us craving fish and the omega fatty acids that come with them. They had much better prices than, say, Our Harvest, and were very easy to get delivery to Manhattan. Our favorites: salmon, wild tuna, clams and shrimp. read more

So by know this review is over due. During lock down in May, we order sushi grade salmon and it was very good. Actually we knew about this place as restaurant order their sushi grade fish from them. Normally it would be expensive and they would not deliver small orders. Now post covid they need business and so the average consumer can buy from them and get it delivered home. There is a minimum charge of $60 + a delivery charge. If you can buy $100, then there is free delivery so its totally worth it. This is now the 2nd time we order the following: 1- Tuna loin A grade sushi 1.24 lbs 1- Hamachi collar 2.25 lbs fatty yellowtail collar, excellent for grilling! 1- Hamachi center cut 1lb 1- Madal filet 1lb 1- Ora King Salmon center cut filet 1- Tobikko red 3 oz 1- Scottish Salmon center cut filet 1lb We didnt order the sushi grade rice from them as we found it at a Korean market near my house for less. I also bought pickled ginger and wasabi from the korean markets. When we cut it everything down to bite size, i will post a picture. I can tell you the salmon was and is and excellent product, as I am not having it for the second time. The Hamachi will be grilled over charcoal to give it a nice smoky flavor. I never had Madai fish and if I did nobody told me.. lol Anyways, my family is looking forward to sushi night tomorrow so it should be a hot since we had to also learn how to slice and cut fish properly so it can be served in bite size pieces. Under normal circumstances, i would rather eat at Sushi Jin and watch the master sushi chef skillfully cut and serve the best Japan had to offer. However, now the entertainment happens in my house as we research what type of fish to buy and how to slice it. Although, the truth is we are light years away from becoming masters but we are lucky that we can still have sushi at home from our friends at Pierless.. By the way our order was placed Monday morning and it arrived today Tuesday by 11am. Normally we place the order in the afternoon and it gets here late in the evening but we got lucky today. we also included a generous tip for the driver as part of the bill, over all we spent about $165 and its well worth it, as the quality of the fish is important and we can trust their products 100%. read more

Pierless Fish is one of the huge win/awesome discovery/gee I hope they don't stop delivering to homes businesses we've enjoyed during this period that shall remain nameless. We are fish snobs. I used to ride 2 1/2 miles each way to get great fish from the fish store 2 neighborhoods over rather than walk the one block to what seems to be the well-liked fish store nearby - we eat our fish mostly raw so it's really important to us that it be very high quality. Pierless is just that. Their sushi grade sea bream is a revelation. Tuna, hamachi, salmon...all excellent. Fantastic shrimp that takes like it was just netted in North Carolina. Excellent crab legs...everything we've had from Pierless is fabulous. If you can't make the $100 free delivery minimum, make friends with your neighbor and order together. Pierless will benefit from the extra business. Or order some extras for the freezer - if you go for the varieties that require cooking, they will be a delightful discovery next week when you need an easy and simple meal to throw together. Pierless is such an amazing way to treat yourself during the quarantine. The delivery is free when you make an order above $100. The delivery crew is always on time, plus they packed the seafood very well. No leaking at all. The fish from the sushi trio is vets good quality. We made sashimi and hand roll from it. The scallop is also very good quality. We grilled and barely put any seasoning. The taste of it is extremely sweet and fresh. Better than one I had in any restaurant. Highly recommend this place. I was so pleased with my experience ordering from Pierless. Their website was very easy to navigate, and prices were reasonable. My order arrived the following day, with updates via text. The fish and shellfish that I ordered was all beautiful, fresh and tasty. My only complaint is that everything came in plastic tubs (other than some frozen fish that I also ordered), which is great for keeping the smells inside the packaging, but not so hot environmentally. I'd preferred paper wrapping. But that's a small complaint. I will definitely be ordering again, especially because they were out of the frozen shrimp! I hope that Pierless continues with home delivery even after the pandemic ends because I live in a neighborhood with no good fish monger. read more

Their fish is some of the best available in NY. They have an online shop which I have not tried yet, because I buy their fish at the Park Slope Food Coop. The only thing the options available at the Food Coop are not many, so if you want to be more creative in the kitchen or try different types of fish, or simply because you are not a FC member. then the online shop is the answer! With us all in lockdown due to coronavirus, I am SO THANKFUL for Pierless Fish's new home delivery service. We (family of four) ordered 2 lbs of arctic char, 2 lbs of halibut, and 2 lbs of swordfish.
