When we came in to be honest it wasn't a super friendly environment, it felt like the people who were working there were almost bothered by us coming in. Aside from feeling kind of unwelcome, we got started on the paperwork while Gavin was finishing up with another client. The paperwork was easy to understand and didn't take too long to go through. Then Gavin showed us the jewelry options, there were plenty to choose from and he was very knowledgeable of all of them. I decided I'd like to go first. He prepped his station and we were ready to go. The Shen men piercing can be helpful for anxiety management because it goes on a pressure point. The specific pressure point can be slightly different for everyone. Gavin took his time to test and find just the right spot for each of us. Very thorough, respectful, and kind. He explained every step of the process which definitely helped us all feel more comfortable. He cleaned his station after each one of us and was very professional the entire time. I love my piercing! I feel like the service itself was priced fairly and Gavin made it a great experience. I would recommend Gavin to anyone and everyone! It was quick and easy to make an appointment on their website, and it didn't require a security deposit either. I arrived to get my conch piercing at 5:30 pm and I was out by 6 pm. I was a little nervous and had lots of questions about the piercing itself and the after care. I also had not gotten a piercing in years, so I was worried it would be painful. They were kind and allowed my two friends to come to the back with me to hold my hand (I know... I'm a scaredy cat). Mitch walked me through everything that was going to happen- for example, "okay, you're gonna feel a small pinch first and then you'll feel some pressure." He also said that my only job was to keep breathing. He had me take one deep breath in and then exhale out right as he did the piercing, too. As you can tell, the team is very patient and kind here. This is a great spot for anxious girlies or for your first time getting a piercing. Their piercing and jewelry pricing is all fair. My conch piercing costed $45 plus the 14K gold jewelry I chose. Unlike other shops, they had a huge selection of yellow gold and rose gold options that were actually cute- flowers, stars, moons, etc. On average, I saw the stud earrings were about $60-170 each. They also tallied up my total prior to actually getting the piercing, so there weren't any surprises at the end when I paid. They sent me home with a detailed after care guide too. I've already told friends and family about this shop being a great option for them when they come visit Utah.

I booked a day-of appointment for a tiny tattoo. It was an important anniversary and they were nice…read moreenough to squeeze me in because the tattoo was a simple line and wouldn't take more than 5 minutes. They booked me for 9 pm. It was well past 2 AM by the time we finally got back. And the tattoo artist wouldn't stop talking and so it took a full 45 minutes to do this one centimeter line (that was the whole tattoo.) The artist said she liked staying late so that she wouldn't go back to her old habits, which made it feel like she'd intentionally made us wait so she wouldn't be alone at night. We weren't done until 3 am. That's 6 hours past 9 pm when we were scheduled. The second we were back there she launched into telling us all the traumatic things she's experienced. I work in mental health- I definitely understand trauma. And there's no doubt she's had some unfair horrible things happen to her. But I was already in an emotional state (given the symbolism behind the tattoo) and it was really hard to be trauma dumped on. Especially without warning. Trauma dumping is so unfair and a lot of what she said triggered my own trauma. She deserves healing for what she went through but her clients aren't her therapist. She's talented and I think has a genuinely good heart but I felt like she didn't take my time or emotions seriously. It felt like I was being used for her own benefit. I had free touch ups so I tried to schedule one (despite my better judgement) and I've attached the photos of the conversation we had. She never even responded. TL;DR- I paid $60 for a tattoo that should have taken 5 minutes but instead took 6 hours.

my partner and i came across this place after being disappointed by a piercing salon nearby, and we…read moreare so glad we did! i wanted to get my septum re-pierced since i had to take it out after an injury a couple years ago. sas offered to try and recover the old piercing and she actually was able to, saving me months of healing compared to getting it completely re-pierced. my partner got two cartilage piercings in both ears and our piercer took extra time to make sure everything was even and appropriate for her ear anatomy. also, they use medical grade titanium for the jewelry they pierce you with which is so awesome because i have bad reactions to surgical steel jewelry. we left very happy campers.

I tried to get an appointment with him marked down but he would take over 10-18 hours to reply. I tried working with his schedule and once I had a whole week free so he didn't have to work around me he stopped replying. I tried bringing up the issue of the communication and his resolution was to be upset that I didn't know his schedule and ended up blocking me for even bringing it and I wasn't even trying to offend him I was just trying to book in a time. While it would take him hours to reply when I was trying to schedule it only took him minutes once I brought up the communication. For this reason I would not recommend working with him or trying to schedule maybe you'll have better luck with being a walk in.

Alexis said no big deal, you're only 10 minutes from our new location downtown. When I navigated the new location it was 23 minutes away, making it about a 45 minute trek from my home. Not worth it! I blatantly texted her then stating I would not go that far and she replied asking me if I'd still make the appointment. Learn to read your text messages much? VERY POOR SERVICE!
