Updating my review as I came back yesterday for their lunch special. I had a slice of the Tourist pizza and a salad and drink. Pizza slice was good and the salad (lettuce,tomato, cheese, olives) was fresh. They still have customer service issues. First, the kid who took my order yawned quite loudly and didn't even cover his mouth. Dude, get to bed early so you're not so tired! The other workers walked around like zombies and didn't smile. Second, not one of the little parmesan cheese glass shakers were full. I'm serious. I even looked at the tables and couldn't find a single one with cheese. And third, the tables were dirty... people left and no one came to clean up. Not good during the lunch hour. My rating improved but not by much. They still have some work to do. read more

We stopped here because we were from out of town, starving and just wanted something quickly. There were only 4 people in the restaurant at 6:30pm on a Wed night - it should have been a sign. The guy at the counter was pleasant enough, he was't real good at answering questions but he did take our order quickly. We ordered a large Caesar salad & large peperoni & olive pizza. He brought out the salad - a large bowl of croutons with some lettuce and shredded parmesan cheese. Dressing was on the side. He informed us that they were "a little low on lettuce" so they gave us an extra piece of garlic toast. ummmmm, okay? The pizza was hot, fresh and the peperoni was good. The crust was HUGE, very doughy, but I guess that's their specialty - Sourdough crust in homage to San Francisco. I've been to Frisco (I'm from SoCal) - the pizza is better there. Finally - it gave my husband major heartburn - like through the next day. We think it was the sauce. Go, but take your Tums with you. read more

Reading the reviews about this place had me shocked after I finally ate here. I was really impressed with the variety of the pizzas that the had and this was the first time that i have ever eaten a pizza on sourdough bread. It was quite fantastic. If your in the area I would give them a try. Friendly staff and also big space inside. Bring everyone! read more

The staff stayed past their close time to feed me, service was friendly and fast. Sourdough pizza crust reminds me of Seattle and San Francisco at the piers. It's nice to have a go to pizza place when I am in Salt Lake! They make a great Pie! read more

The food was pretty good. We had the dinner for 2 combo. It was reasonably priced and cost $20.50 The counter help looked like teenagers but we're pretty attentive. There were two empty Parmesan cheese bottles on the counter, and when we asked for more they said they were out, but they did give us cheese packets. The restaurant was moderately clean, but the seats in the booths are extremely worn. We almost sunk to the floor on the bench. read more

I was told I would receive my delivery in 35-45 minutes when I called to follow up an online order. 50 minutes later I was told that my pizzas had just been put in the oven. The person on the phone was completely unapologetic and tried to tell me it was my fault for ordering online! Now I'm told i will receive my order 90 minutes after it was placed. Don't let 3/5 stars fool you, this place is pretty tasty. GLUTEN FREE MENU is also available, which is helpful for those looking for such commodities. I usually get the all you can eat pizza for $10 which is quite the value. The pizza is always fresh and the sourdough crust is a welcome change to the competition of regular style pizza. They also have a salad bar to go along with it, but it's fairly lacking in options and nothing special to praise. I would also put this over your typical run of the meal pizza joints like Dominos;( We don't mention the vile digestion betrayal of Pizza Hut or Little Caesars). Yum!! The pizza is so fresh and the toppings are premium. The inside decor is well kept and clean, I really do enjoy their delivery, it's fast. I would also recommend the cheesy breadsticks. My favorite is probably the Alcatraz and an order of breadsticks. Haven't tried the dessert pizza yet. read more

We came here on a Saturday, for our first time. We did the buffet since I had a coupon. We weren't really sure as to how it would be, especially with all the bad reviews, but we ended up loving it. The pizza was amazing each time and the staff was nice. Everyone in my group loved the different choices there were. very bad experience the food was gross. overcharged as well. Ordered a pepperoni pizza with jalapeños and the jalapeños were tasted like plastic and definitely weren't fresh. also ordered a second pizza with fresh tomatoes and they forgot the tomatoes and instead of remaking it or even putting them on they brought me over plate of cut up cold tomatoes. the food didn't taste fresh. My daughter barely ate half a piece and picked everything off. The cheese was rubbery. We definitely will never go back here ever again. I purchased a gluten free pizza here last weekend when I was desperate for something that was gluten free while we stayed in Murray. There was one size option but you could choose any of the pizza toppings. I went with safe pineapple and ham. I had the pizza delivered and sort of offended when they told me it would be $20, plus whatever tip I wanted to give. I was even more offended when I opened the pizza box and my pizza was TINY. I'm used to paying higher prices for gluten free alternatives but $20 is just a little much for me. The pizza itself was alright but not worth $20! read more

Staying at a nearby hotel we decided to just google search pizza places and forgot to check Yelp! Huge mistake! Terrible, tasteless and dry. No plates, napkins, crushed red peppers or Parmesan cheese. Not even a fork with the salad. Second pizza pictured fresh tomatoes and green onions. None of those on the pizza, receipt even said fresh tomatoes. Save yourself and your road weary family the hassle and skip this place. read more

Decent pizza. Salad bar with ingredients that are all also pizza toppings, conveniently, but at least it all seems pretty fresh. Service is polite and friendly but not always paying attention. Even if they're not busy, you may find yourself waiting a few minutes for them to notice you if you need anything. But you really can't beat the price of the lunch specials, and it's totally worth it for that if you already happen to be there. read more

Worst place they are ran by a bunch of teenagers who just talk instead of helping. They forgot to make bread for the subs and the pizza taste like it was from yesterday. What ever happened to customer service this is my first bad review on a restaurant I have ever giving because they just don't care. My son choose the place on a special occasion and they couldn't even give us our cups we had to ask for them twice and was given the third degree! I went for lunch with my husband. We ordered the personal size pizzas. The pizza was good, not great, I would say some delivery chains were better. The real issue was there was one guy working the front and one guy in the back. There were a total of 2 clean tables for us to sit at. It was a joke. Since Pier49 happened to be just across the street from our hotel, we decided to give it a shot, despite a few negative reviews (many more than 3 years old). We were glad we didn't pass it up. Our family tends to be sort of "pizza snobs". We definitely enjoy our pizza and like to try different styles, at this point probably in 15 or 16 different countries, including Italy, Belgium, Greece, across North and Central America. That being said, we found the sourdough crust at Pier49 to be just about perfect and a great pie all around. Perhaps slightly on the expensive side but they honored a military discount and the staff were excellent. We ordered 6 various pizzas for a family gathering and everyone gave it "5 stars". read more

Great place to eat, Amazing pizza!!! I've tried almost everything and I can tell you everything is pretty tasty.. not to mention you can create your own pizza, and they have four different sizes!!! They have gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options... they also have some of the best salads!!! Please, if you have a craving for some pizza give this place a go!! We tried this place out since it's close to home, it smelled sort of like a pool when we first walked in, not sure why. . . But we ordered the 49er double pepperoni and it was awesome, the crust has an almost pretzel like style. Which we loved. We ordered the pesto chicken and neither of us liked it so now it's sitting in our fridge until we have company or it goes bad. Do not recommend that one. Restaurant was clean. Paid over 30$ for two pizzas which seemed high. We will not be going back. read more
