I love this place! Food has been delicious every time we have stopped in. Fast service, friendly staff and fair prices.

Tried it on New Year's Eve. Ambience: place is simply two loud. Food: I always check out gumbo when on the menu. Roux was too light and too thin and the stew was too, too salty. Shrimp tacos suffered from same overuse of salt. Probably won't go back. read more

Ok be prepared to be shocked. This is a little hole in the wall place with limited seating and the appearance of a dive seafood bar like the ones you find in coastal towns. The menu is so limited, as menus go, that I almost told my family we should try something else. The server was so nice and engaging, and totally understood what I was pondering and why, but she set me more at ease with her suggestions. So we stayed and gave it shot. Let me tell you, there was no better place we ate at this entire meet weekend but this. We ordered a fish chowder that was out of this world. The flavors were right out of the ocean and the cream broth was decadent. I wish I could have some right now. I ordered for my entree the blue crab claws appetizer with that soup and hoped I would not be disappointed. The garlic butter it was cooked in was sublime and akin to the garlic wine butter you get with escargots. I have never enjoyed crab claws so much. My son had the pound of snow crab claws with cole slaw and I have to say it, "they were perfect!" Perfectly cooked, and flavored with garlic butter and the clarified butter was perfectly done (meaning it did not harden as my sone meticulously cleaned all the claws of their meat before eating all the crabmeat). My husband really played roulette with his selection of the cajun shrimp enchiladas, and was shocked when he took his first bite. I literally didn't hear another peep out of him until his entire plate was clean of every morsel. Just writing this review is making me wish we had this restaurant here in Wichita. I grew up in coastal towns on the east coast and even lived in San Francisco, have traveled to Spain and Portugal, where they have wonderful seafood, and this is one of the best places to eat. Unpretentious and unassuming, full of flavor and decent prices. You have to try it! read more

One of the best places as far as bang for your buck! It's a good restaurant from top to bottom. The food was fresh hot and on time. The overall experience is very good!! read more

Last night my husband and I went to Pier 101 for dinner, when we arrived the parking was difficult but it ended up being worth it. We walked in to the restaurant and were able to be seated right away(on a Friday Night) the menu is concise, they have chalk board specials as well. After much deliberation we decided on the crab fingers for an app and the king salmon (which I had oscared) and the snapper Oscar. Ok I'm going to make a confession not always but there are times when I see a menu and it's components as the opportunity to build what I really want. Last night was one of those times. I really wanted the salmon but the snapper Oscar sounded delicious. So I went off menu and asked if they could accommodate. They could. I love when restaurants let me do this because inevitably I walk away having had exactly what I wanted. The crab finger are a must. I see my self as a connoisseur of crab fingers as I have eaten my way through them in the south east. I will be going back to Pier 101, though not only for the crab fingers but also for the salmon which was fantastic. read more

Had some amazing gumbo with sides of dirty rice and andouille sausage. Everything tasted fresh and very delicious, seasoned perfectly. Service was top notch. Owner checked on us to make sure we were being properly taken care of. Waiter even gave us free desert! Recommend this place 100% read more

I ordered coconut shrimp, I got 6 butterfly NOT EVEN LARGE , What a scam, not worth the wait or money

Ordered shrimp po'boy and gumbo. The sandwich lacked depth of the tradional po'boy. Meal was forgettable

Food is good to great. Nice to have a good seafood restaurant in town. Service has been 50/50 during our visits as a family. Some waitresses are good some not so much. read more

First visit to Pier 101........................outstanding! Great atmosphere, great service and fantastic food! We are not big seafood eaters, but will be now! I had the blackened mahi mahi with dirty rice and vegetables and it was SO good. My husband had blackened salmon, and mom had coconut shrimp. We all were impressed with our meals! Good job Pier 101, we will be back for sure! read more

First visit the food was decent but service was not good. Beverages were incorrect and never brought the appetizer. Thought it was due to a new waitress but when we went for second visit, service was even worse. Order put in wrong...They brought a substitute meal out so I could eat along with rest of party until what I really ordered was prepped, needless to say, didn't really want it at that point. Food tastes from frozen- fish, veggies, all. I won't waste my time for a third visit. read more

We have been here three times so far and really enjoy the atmosphere, staff is friendly, food is great! I would recommend that they create a lunch menu that offers smaller portions. The jalepeno hush puppies are to die for! read more

I really enjoyed the atmosphere! The appetizers were great, and prices weren't too bad either! Service was great!

Wow! We need some honest reviews on here. I tried this restaurant for the first time because a co-worker said it was delicious. She must not have any tastebuds. Catfish was Swai fillets (a cheap Asian version of catfish) and tasteless. Small portions and over priced. Extremely disappointed! I will not be back. read more

I had the catfish and it wasn't so bad just needed a tad bit of seasoning.

Great food, Great service. Caught the Sunday Brunch... shrimp and grits and shrimp enchiladas.... highly recommended

Amazing food and impeccable service as a table of 6. We had the sampler appetizer, crab cakes, fish tacos, gumbo, catfish and chowder. All tasty and delicious. Highly recommend this place. read more

Have been here several times. Really good fried and boiled seafood. Blackened fish is uneven - has been really good sometimes and dry and almost burned others. The gumbo is rather bland. The coconut shrimp are great, and the french fries are excellent. The waitstaff seems distracted most of the time and spend a lot of time chatting with other staff at the bar or on their cell phones in the hall leading to the patio, and it can be hard to flag them down for drink refills, additional items, etc. Twice we have had a waiter here pretty aggressively insist that we made a mistake in ordering when we were brought the wrong item. Make them repeat the order back to you. A good choice if you stick to fried or boiled seafood, rather iffy on some other items. read more

A-MAZING! The best sea food in Rockwall, hands down! The waiters and waitresses are vibrant and friendly, and won't let you down on what you want. They provide the grub fast and hot, so it's great for a late night dinner. The food can be expensive, but you get what you pay for, because the ANYTHING you get there is out-STANDING. And no, but seriously. Pier 101 is to DIE for. So, in conclusion, thank you Pier 101, for providing top notch seafood for me, and MANY other people. read more

Our group was shocked to be treated so poorly by the bartender/manager (so he said), after we were misinformed on happy hour pricing by our waitress. Could have been an easy fix but instead, the BARTENDER/MANAGER (NOT THE SERVER!!) was extremely rude and disrespectful. read more

Food was not good and service was worse. Catfish tasted dirty and breading stale. Asked for lemon and was given three tiny pieces that looked as though they'd been squeezed. Gumbo also tasted dirty. Margarita was the worst I've ever had. Watery with no taste. Pretty sure there was no tequila in it. Service was non existent. We had to get up several times and find someone to refill our water, bring us lemons, bring our check. Overpriced. I'd have been happier going to Long John Silvers. read more

Good food and service. We don't get here often as my wife is not a fan of seafood. However, when we do come the folks are friendly and the food is served quickly. The space is a little cramped (other tables are close) but it has an open feeling and it is not overly loud. Recommended. read more

This was our first time here. Have driven past it for over a year and didn't try. Boy was that a mistake. Had the Sampler appetizer and split the Mixed Grill outstanding in both cases. If you like good Seafood this is the place. Will definitely return. read more

The food was good but small portions of shrimp and fried oysters. They have jalapeño hush puppies now. There's 7 in a basket. Not sure where jalapeño was. Cornmeal is not expensive so not sure why just 7. Fries are mediocre. Not a place for big boy appetites. Hope they do well but won't go back. We will continue to travel across town to Hook Line and Sinker and have a delicious basket of hush puppies and also be able to get grilled veggies too. It has no competition so it will do okay. read more

Finally a fantastic seafood place close to home! Yes, I said it.....fantastic! We have eaten here twice now and the food and service have been top notch. Must haves include the jalapeño ranch (house salad) and the jalapeño hush puppies! The Oscar Red Snapper is off the chain!!! Oh and then there's grilled peaches, get them while they are in season cuz they won't last. We love sitting at the bar watching all the delicious food being served up to the pass. The chef and team are in-synch and having a good time, which is reflected in the food. read more

Had their version of the steam/ boil pot. I was not impressed. Didn't enjoy it. They have their own take on flavor. Got the oysters and they weren't properly shucked. Our daughter had the fried fish and that was good. We will not eat here again. Prefer to drive to mesquite for Joe's. We don't eat deep fried food much, that's probably why we didn't like it. Restaurant was packed and everyone had fried fish of all sorts read more

LOVED IT!!!! Definitely will be back. The po boy is the best I've ever had, soft warm bread. Delicious gumbo. Calamari was crispy and yummy. French fries were seasoned perfectly. Service was great! Went on a Saturday evening before the crowd and everything was perfect. Delicious fresh seafood! read more

Ordered Catfish basket. Fish was not crispy, kind of soggy. Definitely didn't even taste like catfish!! We moved here from Arkansas and we are used to fried catfish! And this didn't even compare! Service horrible. Had to ask for refills on water, ketchup, tartar sauce, had to ask for salt. Waitress was oblivious to our needs. read more

Went here to celebrate my Dad's 75th birthday. The food and service were fantastic. There were six of us and we all sampled a lot of the food on the menu. The crab fingers appetizer was fantastic as well as the Oscar style red snapper. This was our first time here, but will definitely be going back soon. read more

Visited 7-18-17 for a late lunch just after 1:00. The place is nice and the waiter was great. I had the Couscous salad with grilled veggies which was excellent. Mother -In-Law had clam chowder which she liked. The crab cakes were very disappointing however. No real crab to be seen in them. Like a Luby's salmon patty! We saw fried baskets on other tables. they looked good, but not very much food. Overall a nice meal. One thing that was a big turn off was the employee hanging a ceiling fan right in the middle of the dining area which is small. He was on a very tall ladder working on it the whole time. read more

Great service - food really good and fresh. Drinks tasty! Bartender fun! Wait staff great! Small place - but we like that about it! Little gem in downtown Rockwall! read more

1st time here. Gumbo was great. Fish tacos were some of the best I've had. Only issue was them mopping the floors before closing with guests. The fumes from the mop water was offensive. Other than that we will go back. read more

I had the opportunity to eat here for lunch on February 11, 2017 and I will say that it was enjoyable. I had the grilled salmon plate with veggies and dirty rice, and I cleaned my plate (minus the cabbage and carrot topping that was more for enhancing the appearance than taste if you ask me). The portion was just enough to satisfy my appetite, and the salmon was cooked perfect and did not lack flavor. The dirty rice complemented the dish well, and the vegetables had accompanied by melted butter sauce...can't go wrong with butter. My only "negative" remarks are towards the calamari appetizer - the portion was significantly smaller than other seafood places I frequent. Oh, and there's is only ONE bathroom, which doesn't quite make sense to me. Otherwise, it's a nice place - our waitress was very friendly and checked on us frequently, which may have been challenging considering she was one of two waitress working during that time with multiple parties to service. I can see myself going back again. read more

Great neighborhood joint right off the Rockwall Town Square. Shrimp and crab cakes were really tasty. Everything was served hot and fresh. Our waiter, Trevor was exceptionally good. Overall Great Meal read more

Too expensive blackened red fish was fishy sad to say and very small portions veggies were good but such small servings house salad was great but 7$ extra didn't even come with dinner . Had dinner last night and it was really good. Appetizer sampler had plenty for 2 but the shining star was the stuffed mushrooms! Gumbo was ok, have had better. The oysters were really fresh and clean. Crab cakes very good and had plenty of crab. read more

Went on a warm Sat evening. The restaurant was VERY hot. The food was mediocre and portions were small. They ran out of ice so our iced tea was warm. I was hoping to like this place since I love seafood. The waitress could not refill our drinks because the restaurant ran out of ice. read more
