I was worried about moving stuff from Rochester, MN to Sunnyvale, CA after reading such bad reviews from a variety of companies. Chose Piepho after having an estimate done with Fran. He was awesome! He was thorough, took his time, showed he cared by sitting down with me and explaining how the do their estimates and how the move process goes. He responds quickly to email and truly the nicest estimator I'd worked with (I had about 5 different people come to our 1 bedroom apartment) and had estimates over the phone. He offered any available boxes they had including medium and large moving boxes, wardrobe boxes (3), and TV boxes (2) for FREE. This was a huge reason why I chose them as well since these boxes can get ridiculously expensive. Some were used boxes and some were new, but all were in excellent condition. He even showed us how to assemble the wardrobe box. The movers came in a big North American Van Lines semi and was able to park in a really tight space behind our apartment building. I was super impressed with Fabian our mover and primary contact from that point. He was very fast and strong and efficient--you could tell he had 15 years of experience. They took down all big furniture (bed frame, etc) and provided all materials for packing such as big blankets, stretch wrap, etc. Pick up was on May 17. Our estimated window of delivery was between May 23 and June 7 when we first booked with the company. We were informed of the actual delivery date on pick up date which was May 24 and they delivered on time, as scheduled. They reassembled everything they took apart and were very organized in unloading. I would highly recommend Piepho (working with Fran) and Fabian (mover) for anyone making a big move. NONE of our furniture or belongings were damaged, NOTHING was missing. Also the price was excellent! One of the best estimates I received, and the final cost came in UNDER THE ESTIMATE by about $250 which was awesome. They let me pay on the day of delivery via credit card over the phone with no additional charge for using a credit card (as some companies do). I would use them again in a heartbeat for any of my future moves!!! read more

We hired Piepho for a move from Rochester to the suburbs of the Twin Cities. Some parts of the process went great, others did not go so well. What went well: the guy who does estimates is extremely knowledgeable, and his estimate was essentially spot on. He responds to email and phone calls promptly and was happy to answer all my questions. The crew in the Cities that unloaded my stuff and unpacked was patient and accommodating. My husband was working, so they were dealing with me, my kids (who are very young), and my dog (who is very high strung). I was doing my best to manage the kids and dog while telling them what stuff went in what rooms, but I was definitely not the most efficient. They were polite and understanding. The packers were pretty good. They were efficient but failed to pack some random stuff, which added to our work load when we were cleaning out the house (for example, rugs at the entries, anti-fatigue mats in the kitchen, a couple trash cans) The main person in the office is not the most responsive to phone calls, which is really not ideal for a stressful time like moving. There were many miscommunications regarding our estimate, and phone calls regarding these were not answered in a timely manner. read more

We moved from Illinois to Colorado in early January 2021. Piepho Movers arrived exactly on time. They took care to protect our floors and walls as they moved the boxes and furniture out. All personal items were wrapped in blankets and furniture wrap. They worked swiftly and carefully. They were friendly and communicated clearly every step of the process. We are very satisfied with our move. The only wish is if they could have arrived sooner, but they arrived within the time promised. We had a terrific experience with Piepho-Allied from our first visit with estimator Fran Rainey to the expert packing/transport services, led by the very experienced and capable Chris Littleton. Chris was assisted by packer extraordinaire Glenn. Chris' entire packing and loading/unloading teams on both ends were all positive, professional, careful, patient and helpful. The weather on our 2 garages packing day was far from ideal with Minnesota temperatures in the double digits below zero. Chris and his team came well prepared for the severe weather and worked hard without complaint. I especially liked having the same team pack and transport us from Minnesota to Texas. Piepho made my move so smooth and stress free. Fran was prompt and efficient with the estimate, was always available for questions and updates, and even helped with boxes. For the physical move, Matt and Dave were the best movers I've ever had. They were on time, extremely efficient and skillful, went over and above to help with anything I needed, and put my best interest first. I moved into a high rise building, and there were several challenges along the way, but they handled everything with patience and professionalism. I called two weeks ago and set an appointment to have them come out and give me a bid for moving. At that time they were open for the 28th of Aug. and moving me to WI was no problem. Today (the day they are supposed to give me the bid) I get a call saying that they can't come and that they are now all booked up for the month!!!! WTF a you knew I called two weeks ago and you weren't booked, how did you book over the date that I already told you I was moving? Don't call, use this company they will leave you hanging at the last mintue with no way to get moved!!!! read more

I recently had a great experience with Piepho Moving and Storage. From my first contact with Fran to make preliminary arrangements, to the wonderful packing and pick up service in Florida, to the final delivery service in Rochester, MN everything went seamlessly. The personnel kept in contact with me all along the way and every individual I dealt with was professional and courteous and efficient. My floors and walls were protected in both houses and all of my belongings arrived in perfect condition. Lynn from the Rochester Piepho office checked on things frequently and always kept me in the loop. She was most helpful with coordinating the timing of the delivery with my work schedule. We have moved several times with different van lines and this was by far our worst move. We choose Piepho with Allied because of the professional and efficient moving consultant but after this stage, things went downhill. We hired the company to pack as well as move our house. Pack day, three men showed up. Two spent the entire day packing the kitchen and gossiping about other workers in the company (our last move, one man had the entire kitchen packed in less than 2 hours); the other worker aimlessly wandered the house, randomly packing rooms. At the end of the day, they still didn't have the entire house packed (a 1300 sq foot house with most of the basement already packed in boxes and bins by us). The next day, we asked if everything could be loaded by early afternoon since we needed to drive 10 hours that day. We were assured it would be done by then. 6 pm rolls around and they tell us that all our belongings wouldn't fit on the truck they brought and the overload would be packed on a separate truck to be delivered in 2 weeks. 2 MONTHS later, after daily calls to Allied, the rest of our belongings are finally delivered. We moved frequently and will never be using Allied again. read more

Warning: absolutely awful service. They lost all of my trophies and medals from my track career from middle school to Stanford (among other items) and claim they have no monetary value. Have been consistently unhelpful in making any effort to locate lost or possibly stolen items. Do not use this company if you value your possessions and wish to see them again. read more

We moved from Rochester Mn.to Jacksonville, FL. During the move several things were damaged beyond repair or lost. when things were taken apart the screws and part to hold things together were wrapped in small paper and taped so it was difficult to tell them from the other paper trash. these were also not marked making it near impossible to put things back together easily. For the lost pieces we have made numerous calls to Piepho to find get a claim form. Our calls go unanswered and unreturned. read more
