This place is a cafeteria, not a dining experience.
    Matt M.

This dinner was so bad it will actually end up being a fond memory for the rest of our lives. Where to even begin? First of all, when I was booking dinner reservations I had options, but I called the hotel and asked for recommendations. I let them know this was my wife's 40th birthday, so they recommended "The Piedmont". It sounded stately and I took their recommendation without checking. That's my fault. When we walked up, I had a look of shock on my face and apologized to my wife, telling her I'd take her somewhere else and cancel if she wanted -- she laughed and said "no" because we wanted to go to the pumpkin lights. Guys. This place has the ambiance of a college cafeteria. Ultra bright lights and white walls, completely open concept with tables scattered throughout, a girl who absolutely hates her job as hostess and just tries to get you to order the buffet so no one has to serve your table, ultra-casual dining. The buffet is just the items on the menu, so at $45 a head and $19 for kids, you better each be eating two meals if you're getting the buffet. The warning lights flashed for me when the waitress couldn't describe what was on the charcuterie board that boasted local meats and cheeses. "Uh, they got like some strawberries and I know I seen a pepperoni on it." Good lord, this was "locally sourced from Publix. You get a few hunks of white American cheese, a few hunks of basic orange cheddar, and some Swiss. The meats were salami, pepperoni that had gone bad (half brown, off smell), and prosciutto that had been shaved in places and sliced THICK in others. My wife and I remarked on how we pictured some "chef" in the back, grabbing a hunk of prosciutto, crushing it into a tight ball, and placing it on the platter because they came packed in tiny balls. There were a couple strawberries and grapes that were crushed and had mold on them, completely rotten. The only good thing were the already-pitted marinated olives. And serve yourself this charcuterie with a dollop of strawberry jelly (Smuckers) and some untoasted, plain bread that wished it could some day be made into a crostini, staring at you sadly in its absolute beigeness. We ordered two smoked cocktails, only one was smoked. We laughed because it was so smoked that the birthday girl traded it for the unsmoked one that I got. My youngest got Mac and cheese for $9. It's 100% Kraft and was old enough that it was no longer creamy, but was starting to lump. (See photo -- man I wish I took photos of everything!) My other kiddo got flatbread pizza and it seemed to be normal. That said, it was the worst of the bunch because the rest of the night, while we were out exploring the corn maze and pumpkin lights, this girl was having bathroom emergencies, trying to find a place to quickly relieve herself in the crowd. FIVE TIMES. We had some really close calls. That sucked for her, because it was such a magical night and she was in real distress. My wife and I only had two other "small plates," the brussel sprouts and the pimento mac and cheese. There was bacon on both. The brussel sprouts bacon was almost raw, the mac was burnt. Also, we let the waitress know that the mac and cheese was flaming hot and she shrugged and said it shouldn't be. It's described as a mac and cheese with blistered tomatoes and doesn't mention the seasoning, but if I were to guess, someone meant to sprinkle it with smoked paprika and instead used cayenne. Trust me, I have a hot sauce collection and can eat the hottest there is, so this isn't Goldilocks whining that her porridge is "too hot" because someone put black pepper in it, but it was shockingly spicy. Someone else is definitely returning that dish. So in summary, the ambiance is nil, you have to fight the wait staff to even get a wine menu, the hostess was keeping guests waiting at the entrance for 20+ min in a half-empty hall (hahaha to actually be made to WAIT for this experience, poor suckers!), the food is terrible, the quality control doesn't exist, and somehow I took my wife here for her 40th birthday celebration (which wasn't even acknowledged, by the way. GO ANYWHERE ELSE. Like I said, we are already laughing about this, but I bought the breakfast buffet with our room and now I definitely don't want my kids eating any more of this food...... Photos for the mac and cheese and the ambience. I really should have taken photos of the food and those GRAPES and pepperoni. How long does pepperoni, with its salt content, have to sit out to go bad???

This place is lovely, clean and relaxing for a great dining experience. My server was Ebony who did a wonderful job at making sure I was comfortable and never let my glass become empty. Their lunch menu isn't large(which I prefer) but it offers a great variety of options. My selection was the Turkey BLT with Caesar salad which was plenty of food for lunch. The staff was very accommodating and the food was plentiful, reasonable and delicious. I plan to dine there every chance I get while I'm visiting Callaway Gardens Resort and I'll request to be seated in Ebony's section for her spectacular personality. It's easy for me to award five stars for my experience at Piedmont Grille. Keep up the great work!

Meh. Boring menu. Service was great and that's about all it has going for it. A bunch of loud drunk women took over the room with the bad acoustics. I'm staying at the resort all week and don't plan on going back.

We stayed at Calloway Gardens Lodge and purchased the breakfast package. I'm so glad we did! The buffet included many of the typical hotel breakfast options except it was a few notches above! The associate who was caring for the dining room (Ruby) was super attentive without hovering. She even stopped to give us some good tips on the beat way to tour the gardens. Excellent service by all.

The food is bland I had to add salt and pepper on my own in most of the food I got. They have a buffet or you can order off the menu. I tried both and again both I had to add extra flavor. The service was great. Everyone was nice and attentive. It does get loud inside and people dress casual. It's very family friendly restaurant.

A cute picture of my mom, before she eats the likely contaminated oysters.

Callaway contacted me about my complaints and took appropriate steps to investigate the possible oyster contamination with the Georgia department of health. They were transparent about the process. They also offered a partial reimbursement for my stay. I would still avoid the food at Callaway, (I didn't think it was cooked or seasoned well) but most of the resort and restaurant staff are very nice.

Good place to eat when you visit Callaway resort. I ordered salmon dinner, it was pretty good. Nothing amazing, but satisfying...my kids ordered off of kids menu-chicken fingers and a cheese burger-they likes it. They really liked the fries. Service was quick and attentive.

The food is delicious. There's this white chocolate bread pudding! Sooo good! It's a bit pricey and we didn't get to try any of the buffets, they happen on different days. But I enjoyed everything I ate.

My family went here for dinner it wasnt all that if had a Choice i wouldnt dine-in here due to coivd-19 all Places was closed.. my two girls ordered Chicken Tender meal nd cheeseburger meal, Cheese burger meal was very good, chicken tender meal was horrible It taste like burnt Burger King overcooked chicken tender, I truly honestly think Costco chicken tender taste way better. I had Grits and shrimp meal was $32 is way overpriced but I understand this is hotel food. But i can probably cook them myself by goin to Costco cook them my Self for under $10 it had Nothing but spinach that sautéed in onion w/Grits and cheese over Cajun Seasoning Drenched all over the shrimp. Now my wife food was actually not that bad she had salmon meal, which Again is nothing like high class hotel food it's just I could get all the ingredients from Costco cook it myself for way cheaper......

Five Stars -- This Place Saved the Trip…read more Let me set the scene. We were heading to Callaway Gardens to pick up some Venice jewelry (I'll talk about that later), when I discovered that the Oyster House -- the seafood spot I was counting on -- was permanently closed according to Yelp. I was devastated. Like... fully prepared to cancel Pine Mountain altogether. I was having a whole moment. Then I did a little digging and found out that Eddie Mae's Kountry Kitchen & Oyster Bar had the same owner. I found this out before we arrived, and I knew immediately -- we HAD to stop there. And let me tell you... January 3, 2026 -- this is all I needed in my life. This is GOOD seafood. Like, really good seafood. Freshly cooked. Hot. Flavorful. Done right. The service? AMAZING. The people? Warm, genuine, country hospitality at its finest. The vibe? Real, welcoming, and comfortable -- no nonsense, just good food and good people. Food. Service. Atmosphere. People. Clean restaurant. Clean restrooms. Five stars across the board. I'll be honest -- I will never come to Pine Mountain again unless I know Eddie Mae's is open. I need y'all to hang in there with me because otherwise I can't even travel outside of Atlanta for real. If you want legit seafood, incredible service, and that authentic country goodness -- this is the place.

Wrangling twenty hungry folks is no small feat, but our waitress handled us like a maestro conducting a seafood symphony. Not one single mess up. Not one forgotten order. Just pure joy, laughter, and the kind of energy that makes you swear her heart runs on sweet tea and Sunday kindness. She didn't just serve us, she took care of us. Her laughter kept us laughing, her smile kept us smiling, and her love for what she does poured out like sweet tea on a hot day. The world needs more people like her, because she reminded us that service can be more than just food, it can be a refreshing, soul filling experience. And the food? Absolutely amazing. Not only did we have seafood, but some of us went for the buffet, the kiddos got their grilled cheese, and the burgers were downright delicious. Plates of goodness that made us forget all about yesterday's turkey coma. To top it off, they had my favorite wine (hallelujah!) and beers for everyone else, which meant the whole table was happy. Eddie Mae's gave us more than lunch, it gave us a memory. A funny, touching, belly filling memory that we'll be talking about for years. Five stars, no hesitation.

This is on the west side of Martha Berry Highway in a row of the shops right off the main street. There is parking right in front of the store. It is a gift shop and a cafe/coffee shop. This means that it looks unlike any restaurant that you have probably visited. That is one of the things that gives it charm. The cafe/coffee shop is at the back of the store. The menu is on the wall and includes Bagels, panini's wraps and pizzas. We tried the cinnamon roll and another pastry. The prices were very reasonable with most entrees between $8 and $11. The staff was very friendly. We ordered at the counter and they heated the food up and brought it to our table. Seating is an eclectic mixture of tables and chairs and couches inside and some tables outside on the sidewalk. We decided to sit by the window and found the experience very enjoyable. My wife enjoyed the coffee and the pastry and I liked the cinnamon roll. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience with nice staff, good food, great prices in a comfortable environment.
