We stumbled upon this food truck during our neighborhood walk. Seemed interesting that it located there but thought we'd give it a try. I understand she was probably just trying to be attentive, but the woman in the truck was kind of just aggressively, eating and staring while we were just looking at the menu. We got the crab Rangoon's Caribbean bowl and Thai bowl. The rice was a little on the harder side and the veggies weren't bad but wish there was a bit more. The cucumber slices were a little soggy, but the meat was the thing for us. The coconut shrimp was pretty Bready and didn't have a whole Lotta flavor like almost stale. The mojo pork in the Caribbean bowl wasn't bad, but definitely was on the dryer side and needed some kind of sauce or more moistness. The crab Rangoon was primarily breading and barely any cream cheese. On top of that the breading wasn't even crispy like once you bit into it it kind of just gave in and was almost like chewing cardboard. When they handed us the food though they were both very friendly. They didn't have the hoagie available at the time but we're both pretty interested in that so will try that if there's another opportunity. read more

Korean Rice Bowl is the vegan entree option. It was delicious, had generous portions of veggies, and a conservative portion of rice. For the price of $17, it was also expensive. Ordered the Carribean Bowl from Pidgin Hole. Rice was cold and gelatinous. Sesame cucumbers were just sliced cucumber with no added oil, dressing, or additional flavor. "Asian" slaw appeared to be bagged cole slaw mix with no dressing of any sort. Pork had a good flavor but only about a 3rd was edible with a fork or chopsticks, the rest was one large hard chunk. Sauce on top of the pork tasted good but there was a very small amount of it. Threw most of it in the trash. Really disappointed. read more

I stopped at this food truck at the Portland night market. There are so many amazing Hawaiian restaurants with our favorite being 808... There's no reason to have such poorly done food. I ordered the Hawaiian which included chicken with rice. Chicken was dry and it was over soft and the flavor was not good. Try to eat some of it and eventually had to just throw it out. Was at the Oregon Zoo Lights (separate review) and while it was packed, this seemed like a good place to grab dinner and then stroll and see some animals. Unfortunately whoever was running the truck this particular evening was wayyyy overwhelmed. My wife and I weren't the most hungry but we planned to get the bulgogi sandwich.... An hour later still no food. The truck kept taking order after order and were barely calling out names. (Side note: the truck says that each dish is a culinary masterpiece..... at this point I just wanted food on a plate). Finally went up and asked for a refund and even steered a few more in that direction too. When we asked where our food was they said there were still 12 orders ahead of us, but they could move us to the top of the list (what?!? That seems unfair to others) This is a head scratcher to me.... I've never had this bad of an experience at a food cart. No thank you. read more

If you're looking to pay $12 for Costco food then this food truck is for you! The Thai bowl is literally Costco frozen coconut shrimp over mushy bland rice with some cucumber slices and sweet thai chili sauce. The hawaiian bowl is similar but with dry bland chicken and a tiny bit of also shockingly-bland mango salsa (with somehow very little mango?). I make far better food at home! Save your money and just buy some Costco food and cook it up at home. I have no idea how this food truck has such good reviews? read more

Omg, yum! Pidgin Hole catered an outdoor dinner we attended and lucky us. The potstickers and spring rolls were so good and kids especially devoured them. Food was OK. A little pricey for the quality and the amount that you get. I ordered the Thai Bowl which came with shrimp, rice, coleslaw and some sliced cucumbers. The shrimp was just your normal fried shrimp five pieces with some bottled sweet chili sauce on top of it, the coleslaw didn't have much taste, the rice was extremely mushy and the cucumbers were plain. I probably would not have critique it so much if the bowl didn't cost me $12. I also ordered the pot stickers which were decent. My co- workers ordered the Caribbean Bowl, which they didn't care for as well. read more

I've had the opportunity to try this food truck around town at their mobile events (Festivals and Ridgefield Concert venue) and even followed them to their winter location at House Spirit Distilleries. My favorite is the Pho Boy sandwich which is really unique. It has the characteristics of items in Vietnamese soup, but their local bread is great, sauce is incredible, and meats are the bomb! It's unlike a sandwich anywhere else with an original combination of flavor. The mojo pork rice bowl is super delicious and flavorful along with their cauliflower bowl (if you want to go for a lighter option). They also have good house-made chips on the menu sometimes. I think they are called furikake, ultimately they are ferociously good with different seasonings that you can't find other places, taking my palette to a nice getaway. (Maybe that's where they got the theme of Island inspired food?!) I'll keep following them throughout the city, if they keep cooking like this!! read more

So, this is what happened... I'm a picky eater, prefer lean means, fish, and veggies... well, I walked up to the truck and the had cauliflower in this amazing sauce, an instant favorite! I also love the smoked salmon rangoons, WOAH! Such amazing little treats (the only problem is that the order doesn't come in multiple of tens). I took my mom and aunt out this summer to the Kenton Street Fair where Pidgin Hole was serving the people. Both my mom and aunt loved the Pho Boy sandwich (and also took some of my cauliflower)! Also worthy of mention is that we saw Pidgin Hole at the Bite of Oregon this last summer, an event I've attended for many years. Seems like they did really good since Pidgin Hole/Jeremy Hansen won "The Bite of Oregon's Best of the Bite 2017". So much goodness in one spot!!! If you come to Portland you must try Pidgin Hole! You will not regret it. Each dish is so tasty - at least all the ones I've tried so far (that means I'll be heading back there later this year to taste what I've missed). The smoked salmon rangoons are so creamy and crunchy! Two of my most favorite items are their kalbi glazed cauliflower and the Kimchi fried rice. Together or separate, it's a great combination. Never ever had cauliflower like this before. I anticipated it was going to be mushy, and I was totally wrong. The cauliflower is perfectly cooked and the glaze is stupendous! Can't go wrong with the Kimchi fried rice! It's so full of ingredients - it's an awesome rice to ingredients ratio - and so tasty too! Just salivating thinking about it! I've also tried their grilled romaine - who knew lettuce could be so good!?!? Time for me to go back already !!! Highly recommended! Finally got to eat here when they came out to Wilsonville at the Parkway Woods Food Truck Program. Had the mojo pork, kalbi glazed cauliflower, and house made potato chips. Every item was delicious. The pork was moist and spicy. The cauliflower was out of this world. And the potato chips were seasoned with their secret blend of seaweed and sesame, which made them very tasty and unique. I've not had a lot of experience with food trucks but this one was parked inside a concert venue and the food looked more interesting to me than the standard burgers and pizza so we decided to give them a try. I found the prices to be a little higher than expected but it wasn't a deal breaker. I had the Coconut Shrimp Bowl and split an order of Potstickers with my boyfriend. My bowl was delicious and I loved everything in it. I did think that 14.00 was a little high for the bowl but the potstickers were 5.00 which I thought was a good price. I only wished it was a plate of 6 so you could easily share with another person. They were, however, really tasty and I could have easily eaten my own order. We found the staff to be very friendly and fast. We didn't wait too long to order OR for our meals to come up which I really appreciate since we wanted to eat and head to our seats in time for the show. I would definitely visit this food truck again and might try one of the less expensive items. I mean good tasting food is good tasting food after all and the quality was nice as well.
