honestly I cant even begin to explain how much I love this place. The tacos are on point , my absolute thing here is the Cesar Salad. Its to die for!. Anything on the menu is great they always have an amazing selection of beers. Chips and Guacamole and shrimp empanadas are the best app choices. My favorite taco is the Pastrami taco, Even better is the BRUNCH! a pitcher of bloody marys or marias- maria has tequila 10$ truth i drink a pitcher myself its sooo good. I have been here numerous times and every meal has been amazing. Always new beers on tap and interesting specials. Tonight, a lamb chorizo taco and a thanksgiving taco. Both were ridiculous. Obviously we started with the guac and chips which is one of the best I've ever had. Overall, amazing place with a nice bar crowd. Amazing food!!! Jesus I can't stress enough how delicious the food is here. Ive munched on there delicious guac and chips several times but as for entrees, I've only had the LA Burrito w Brisket but when I tell you it's the best I've ever had then there's nothing more to say. It's so delicious I'm afraid to order anything else because I know this is gonna be amazing 110% of the time. It's that good. I live in the Rockaways where there is not a ton of restaurant choices. I came across Picos while searching for the nearest Mexican restaurant to Uber to, I went to their website and heard angels singing when I saw they deliver! Side note: the online ordering interface is a third party and not the greatest, the menu differs a little from the actual restaurant website menu and the explanations of the menu items is not clear. I placed my order and got pretty speedy delivery for the distance, with a super nice delivery guy. Let's get to the food and more angels singing, oh em gee. I have a pretty big family so we got some of everything, taco flight, L.A. burrito, carnitas tacos, house smoked chicken enchiladas, shrimp empanadas, nachos and bread pudding for desert. There were NO leftovers. The chicken enchiladas mouth watering, everything was mouth watering. The carnitas is sooooo savory. My son ran away with the shrimp empanadas and I'm ready to sneak in the Pico kitchen to get their bread pudding recipe. Pico is our favorite Mexican place hands down, and we have been to a ton. Pleasant addition to the neighborhood! While inside I forgot I was in Rockaway. Good aviance and atmosphere. Not pretentious at all. My son and I ate lunch at Pico today. We left very satisfied. My son had the LA Burrito with pork, which came with black beans and pico rice. I had the two taco lunch special, one beef brisket and one shrimp, which came with black beans, pico rice and cole slaw. To top it off my son had the bread pudding, which is made with croissants and topped with caramel and French vanilla ice cream. The food was delicious and presented well. Service was prompt and pleasant, the place was very clean and the atmosphere is quite nice. The owner came over and said hello. This is a very welcome addition to Rockaway's eating out choices. Pico has been on my list of places to try since they opened and after having brunch there today I'll definitely be back. Finally a restaurant in rockaway that has a beach feel with a great atmosphere. Got there around 1230 and didn't have to wait to be seated. Our waitress was personable, friendly and attentive. I ordered the steak and eggs which was just perfect! Everything on the plate complimented each other. Even the Pico de gallo was fresh and yummy. Which I find a lot of Mexican restaurants cheap out on and use old tomatoes. Mimosa and coffee was good too. Looking forward to going back to try the lunch / dinner. Shrimp tacos are the best but I recommend to put 2 tortillas per taco. Everything else was excellent.

This place is a gem. Don't expect much on the menu, which is awesome, it doesn't overwhelm with choices and that is what I love about this place. I loved the tacos.. even though I wish there was a crunchy option. The tomatillo sauce is THAT good. Half the happy hour food options weren't available- with no substitutions.. therefore happy hour food was really non-existent. Skip the to-go options. Just got my order from Pico and I'm absolutely disgusted! There was a finger nail and a black hair in my food.. When i called them to tell them about this, they said there's nothing they can do about it. He only said he'd give me a credit for my next order, when i told him I'm never ordering from there again. Had the lunch taco special. We both had a chicken and a brisket and a carnita. The plate came heaped with black beans and rice and an interesting cole slaw. Love the way they "ice" the offerings with the sour cream...makes for a nice (and tasty) presentation. My honey had the corn on the cob...looked really good. Came in for take out. Bill was 25.05, I gave her 26, no change back. Food was late, place was busy. My biggest issue was the failure to give me the change. The food was satisfactory, I probably would have given more stars had I sat down, eaten and paid the bill with a tip. I don't like the concept of paying and expecting change and not getting it. update: I got a message here from the owner who wants me to come back. He told me that they usually round off so if the bill is 14.14 they would just take the 14. I don't get it when the bill is 25.05 and I give her 26. then the rounding off is .95 in the restaurants favor. Not good for the consumer. I will never reveal myself to the owner. This is a very small town. This is not the first time this type of shorting has happened to me. It would not have happened if I paid with a credit card. read more

Visiting from out of town and came across this restaurant and what a find it was. Great atmosphere and the food was fantastic. I had Tortas con Carne (Smoked brisket, pork, pastrami or xhicken). I had an excellent dinner.. .waiter was great..food was great..drinks was great..The only issue I have is the hostess..(.I am only writing this of hopes that the owner or supervisor will take action so I can come back to the establishment without feeling uncomfortable. .) .She had short hair and looked quite young..She had a sour look on her face and when I approached her to be seated..she gave me a weird look as if I had the wrong person and she was not an employee..no smile..very cold and nasty. I left with my husband and smiled at her and said goodbye and thank you anyway even though she treated me like that..she actually gave me the same sour nasty look and didn't even say thank you or return the smile back..is she on drugs or just coocoo for coco puffs?
