Looking for somewhere for brunch with my husband and toddler, Pico ticked all the boxes - casual, independent, loads of space for a noisy toddler to not annoy too many people and a pretty interesting (if not more than a little on the trendy side) menu.
Decor is cool/kitsch although I thought it felt a bit 'put together' rather than 'thrown together' but liked it nonetheless. Like the last review said, Pico is pretty everyman and the space definitely lends itself to family groups in the day whilst still being cool enough for a night time bar.
Food-wise I ordered the dirty beans, which were homemade beans with pulled pork and bbq sauce, served on toast with a fried egg on top. The toast was a bit underdone and the egg was overcooked so there was no runny yolk (the best bit!) but the beans and pulled pork were tasty and it was a generous portion.
All in all I did like Pico but everything was just good rather than amazing so I wasn't totally blown away. Would happily go back to try it again though and would be interested in seeing what it's like a a more of a late night venue. read more
