Ended up buying 3 pairs of jeans. I saw them yesterday at Macys but they ran out of my size. I walked in here today and two up those styles were hanging right in the front area of the stores. In my size! It's meant to be, I thought, so I got them. The store is somewhat messy and not fully stocked. I used to like TJMaxx better than Marshalls but now I like Marshalls better because they seem to have much more inventory in designer clothing than TJMaxx. And they both are under the same parent company. TJMaxx is actually leaning more towards home goods stuff than clothing now.

I go in usually saying I want 3 things but nope I stop by the little place in makeup section that has mini versions of stuff and got a lot of small mini items. Once I'm done I head to self check out and start scanning and get my bag open and ready. I scanned a couple small things and have a big bottle of conditioner that I don't want to squish my other items so I move some stuff around in my bag to place the bottle of conditioner at the very bottom. All of a sudden I get this weird feeling someone's watching me, and I turn around... Im not even lying the self checkout lady who has a wrist brace is standing not even 5ft but 2ft behind me staring at what I'm doing. I look back and give a stare and continue scanning. Then 1-2 min go buy and she was still there and ended up walking away at some point when I looked behind me again. I spent over $100 on my items and honestly left so mad because I've never experienced that at all, or at that target that I go to all the time. Keep in mind I've been living in HB for 7-8 years now. All I have to say is that wasn't a good feeling to have leaving target when I shop there all the time and really just made me a bit sad after the situation.

When I tried to return it today (unused, with packaging), the associate refused because I had opened it so they can't "resell" it lol I even carefully cut the side of the plastic and none of the other packaging was damaged. Literally opened it to see it, didn't like it, put it right back. How are you supposed to know if something works without opening it? Also, there's nothing on the receipt saying you can't open it, just that it has to be unused, unaltered, and unworn, which it was. After pushing back, she made a "one-time exception," which honestly felt more like a power trip than customer service. The whole experience was unnecessarily difficult and frustrating. Policies seem inconsistent and depend on who you get. I'd avoid this location if you don't want a headache over a simple return.

I was waiting for about 15 minutes along with about four other ladies. One of the staff members came over to clear out the dressing rooms. We asked her why the normal dressing rooms weren't open. She said that there has to be a long line in the temporary dressing rooms before they open up the normal dressing rooms. I don't understand why a store makes it difficult for people to try on clothes don't they want us to buy their clothes. the woman in front of me said that she has seen this practice in a few Ross stores where they close the main dressing room and make people wait for the temporary dressing rooms. Over the last decade, streetwear has really come into its own- building up from brands like LRG, Obey, and Stussy into The Hundreds, Triumvir, and countless others. Avenue's been through all of that, and the minute you walk in, you get a feeling that these guys really ain't no joke. The folks at Avenue live the lifestyle and believe in the art- because of that, the stuff they carry is always fresh and legit. I remember stumbling into Avenue back in high school, trying to find a place to quench my LRG fix. The main man behind the register, Arthur, not only helped me with what I was looking for, but really took the time out to explain the finer points of streetwear. Every time I stop by, he's always there doing his thing, and mindful of stuff I'd be interested in that's already out or coming out soon. It's places like Avenue that really show what OC is all about- not all that pretentiousness you see on Laguna Beach. Avenue represents this drive for a changing culture that I wish more people could appreciate and acknowledge for what it's worth.

Apparently it's easy to steal here! I bought a couple hair clips and it's definitely my fault for…read morenot double checking for theft and unfortunately did not have the complete set of hair clips I bought. It's not always that this would happen.. only for loose untagged items I guess. But my other set of clips are fine. Both me and the first cashier didn't catch the stolen clip. I threw the receipt away right at the entrance so I probably won't be able to return it. I called them a few times and got hung up on, so I thought I should try a few more times. This is extension-#0 for front desk by the way. But always check your things for merchandise belonging to Walmart for theft. Since stealing is incredibly unnoticed here.
