For my 1K review milestone, I wanted to review a very memorable vendor that I had the pleasure of working with for a very special moment in my life. I first discovered Events n Chill (formerly Picnic n Chill) on a CNBC segment and thought it would be a great idea for some sort of special event. When it came time to thinking of a way to propose to my then-girlfriend, Events n Chill was still bouncing around in my head so I looked into more details about their Proposal package. Although the cost is pretty steep, Events n Chill were very quick to respond with options, as well as addressing any additional questions I had. Appointments are booked and paid for through their website, and additional follow-ups and requests are quickly addressed through email. In addition to the package itself, they offer a variety of additional add-ons for additional costs. But even without any addition items, the "basic" setup that comes with your selected package is still gorgeous and personalized to your request. On the day of, you'll receive a text with a drop-pin with the GPS location of your picnic setup. Since it was a proposal and I obviously wanted it to be a surprised, they did an amazing job getting all the details of my request down including having a photographer that popped out of nowhere (she was very well hidden) right as I got down on one knee to propose. Queuing up the music as we approached the carpet. As well as personalized signage displayed and ready to go. Oh, and she said YES! Jocelyn did a really great jobs with the pictures, and was professional and engaging throughout. She was great in suggesting different poses, selecting areas and angles with better lighting, and making us feel at ease while she snapped away. The only complaint we had about the entire process was how long it took to eventually get all of our photos. While Jocelyn was quick to send a selection of photos she took that day, we noted there were several key shots that were omitted from the album provided. Follow-up emails and texts asking if she could release a few more pictures sadly went completely unanswered for over 2 weeks before thankfully, she responded and shared the entire portfolio of pictures taken that day. read more

My son's first birthday party at Curiodyssey! Again they did an excellent job and were really easy to work with. We coordinated with the location early access for a fee and when we arrived everything was done. A whole team had arrived early and set up. What a relief! Definitely recommend. I hired Picnic n Chill for for a proposal, so I can't speak to the food aspect of it. For my purposes this was 100% worth the money. After the proposal to my fiancé there was a surprise engagement party she had no idea about, so there were a lot of moving parts. Picnic n chill took care of the entire proposal set up, clean up, and it was beautiful. My fiancé loved it! Because there was food at the party, I opted out of any food offerings. To be honest, we mostly drank the sparkling cider and talked the entire time anyway while we updated our friends about the engagement. Part of the package included a photographer and we got our pictures delivered just a few days after the event. I attached a few, but there was plenty to choose from. I also asked them to coordinate with a friend of mine that I wanted to record the proposal and they did a great job with that! I believe two people run this business and depending on how you contact them, it could route to different people. I say this because there was some confusion the day before regarding exactly what I wanted, but it was quickly resolved. Initially I had wanted to exclude some items from the package and it would have been nice to get it addressed in a quick call instead of email. So if you want to customize it, I would recommend you speak with them directly over the phone. To be clear, they did contact me a day ahead to confirm my package, so I did get exactly what I wanted. If you are looking to do a proposal for your significant other, this is the best way to do it. No set up, no clean up, no hassle! read more

We spent over $350 for this as a gift to my daughter and her wife for their wedding. A year after we purchased it, they just got around to using it today and what a gigantic disappointment! They're advertising claims that they are a luxury picnic set up/service. I realize now that the way they market it is a little bit misleading to say the least. Most picnics that I know of include food. This one did not. $350 and the only food they got was a small box of nuts and two miniature Kirkland water bottles. Here's my daughter's text message after her disappointing experience : " I texted the company to tell them the issues we had. Misleading advertising, they put us on grass where there was goose poop everywhere, and the grass was wet. I told them I wouldn't recommend them." Unfortunately, I also spent another $350 for my other daughter for her birthday. Luckily now I can warn her that there is no food included in her fabulous picnic! Do yourself a favor and make your own picnic experience for at least a third of the cost!! Don't waste a dime on this experience. read more

The first time they were so helpful and helped customize my daughter's color theme. I told them my vision and they made it happen. All my guests just raved about how beautiful everything turned out. I booked a 2 hour luxury picnic service for my 30th birthday for 11 people total. It was a beautiful set up with light pink theme & floral decor. The owners were professional, communicated with me before and after the event, and they were efficient with setting up and breaking down on time. The luxury picnic offered additional features such as a charcuterie board, donut wall, jumbo connect 4, Jenga, and props to take pictures such as a tripod and umbrellas. But for the high price tag of $1,600, the whole experience did not feel "luxurious." 1. Our charcuterie board was very small with tiny slices of cheese & a single row of salami for 11 people. It was definitely not the size you'd expect for 11 guests. The salami had a different color as if it was not fresh. For fillers, there were some dried up carrots and celery that were discolored like it had been out for a long time. The grapes tasted unwashed. Overall, the food on the platter was very low quality, as if it were purchased from a bargain store. We barely touched the food because it was unappealing and did not taste fresh. 2. The donut wall was not a wall in the least as written on their brochure. It was more like a mini board around 15x15 inches. 3. The tripod provided was broken and rusty, so we didn't have anything to take our pictures as advertised. The props (umbrella) were also partly broken. 4. There was no actual plate on the table, it was just a thin paper plate which was cute but the quality was terrible, like card stock paper. Food kept rolling onto the ground and we couldn't use them for anything. 5. The teepee kept falling over, I think sand bags should be used to keep it in place. Overall, at first glance, the set up was beautiful, but there was definitely a lack in attention to details. We paid a very high price and were expecting equally high quality, especially given their large social media following. Something is not adding up. More effort should be put into the quality of the food, practicality of the table settings, and honest advertising in terms of games + props. We were left confused, disappointed, and underwhelmed, and I hope the owners learn from this review. read more
