Only thing to keep in mind is that at least right now, the website hours are a little contradictory, so double check before you go to drop off. I mentioned it to them, so they might be addressing it/getting it corrected. Donate if you can, everyone has a time in their life when they could use a helping hand.

I am a Social Worker in Atlantic County. I gave an elderly lady a ride to the Food Pantry because…read moreher Case order was not available. It was the saddest thing. I have known this sweet lady for a long time and what I saw today, I would never imagine anyone should be so humiliated and treated like a child stealing I was there when she called at 10:09 this morning to ask if she could pick up some food items because I offered to drive her. Loud and clear she explained she did not go the Tuesday before Thanksgiving because her son had a procedure. A very nice lady who sounded like she recognized the voice, and told her that today we are open from 11:00 am to 12:30 and again this evening. She told her it's ok you could come anytime after your scheduled day. Politely and sweetly as I have known her she thanked her. I suggested we leave and drive there. The minute we pulled up a miserable-looking woman approached my vehicle and once again this sweet soft spoken elderly lady explained that she missed her day in November but called and was told to come. Out come both her hands up in the air "DO YOU HAVE AN ORANGE CARD? Repeated without allowing this woman to answer. My God!!! The woman barely tried telling her No I have a yellow. She is now off the rails and wailing at this poor woman telling her NOOOOO you need an orange card. If I was not there I would never would have believed what I saw. She raised her voice and finally, the woman got out of my car and told her "Madam people come here are broken why do you talk like this she continued harassing the elderly woman about an orange card. Why talk to her like an imbecile and not allow her to explain he called and was told to come in. As though that was not enough drama to give food to the needy she then continued her Pentagon ranting to me about the darn orange card. Would not leave me alone and I stopped hearing her. I am so sad and humiliated for this lady who I know hardly goes there and gives anyone what she has, I drove to Walmart and bought her some food. NO ONE IS WORTH GETTING HUMILIATED TO GET FOOD THAT IS DONATED IN THE FIRST PLACE. She cried the rest of the day and quietly said I rather die of hunger but I will never return there. Do you people have any idea what this woman does for our Veteran's Shelter, the homeless on the streets of Camden, what she has done for 18 years in Kensington? You are not paying for the food you give out. Well I and my family decided we will get food to her. She does not deserve this treatment. She is there max 4 times a year. I am totally disgusted.
