I wonder how often a negative review drives business up but when I read "Little B's" review below, which is really brilliant writing by the way, I just HAD to come here. And you know what? Little B was sharpshooter accurate. The two main problems are intertwined. First, they are woefully understaffed, long, slow lines. Even for hire-the-customer-without-pay checkout (I think they call it "self-checkout," which to me means looking at yourself up and down salaciously in a mirror). The employees suffer from low morale, if it were just one worker with a defeated and tired attitude I would chalk that up to personal trouble. When it's a whole store, a whole chain, a whole industry, then it's a social issue. By the way, I just snuck in a little C. Wright Mills on you. Still, I've been in worse Pick'N Saves, like the one on National. By the way, they closed and razed that one. Still, the reviews are pretty entertaining. read more

I have driven past this store hundreds of times and I have never stopped until st patty's day when I decided to see what a corn beef brisket was going for. I casually looked at Walmart and festival foods which had corn beef brisket at the $22 + price and I thought I have never paid that much for a brisket before. The store looked clean and as I walked around I noticed how well stocked the shelves were compared to other grocery stores, no noticeable empty spots in the isles I walked through. I found the corn beef brisket bin and it was priced from $2.49 to 3.99 per pound depending on the cut which was reasonable, $7 to $10 for a brisket so I bought 3 of them because they were priced very reasonable compared to other stores especially the a block away that I go to a couple times a week. I'm probably going to look at the sale adds more often to see if they have any little nuggets like this because it was probably the best price in town for a corn beef brisket. read more

Terrible! The pharmacy here is utterly useless, overcharges people over twice their co-pay and is very rude. Go to Walgreens or anywhere unless you want to wait two days and have to drive many miles out of your way to another location to get a common ointment AND then pay more than double your co-pay. When I questioned the amount of the copay the pharmacy salesperson said the ointment costs over $500. (Which was untrue as Walgreens, CVS, and Meijers all stocked it for $300) - as if the actual amount of the co-pay had some relation or had anything to do with the amount of the co-play!! Then she informed me I could "either take it or leave it." So rude!! I will never go there again - this is no way to treat customers!! read more

Oh, Pick'n'Save. I remember when you first came to Milwaukee so long ago. There were bins of grease markers at the entrance to write the price on the cans and boxes one purchased, that's how long ago it was. The selection was very limited, there were only a few stores, and prices really were low. Now, there's a store on every corner, or so it seems. Kroger bought you out and you took a major nosedive that I think you'll never recover from. I think I can count on one hand the number of times I've shopped in this location, even though I've lived in Hales Corners for over a year now. The store looks fancy from the outside, but wow, are appearances deceiving! The whole place has a run-down look inside. But I digress. I'm writing this because of the experience I had just this week. I made an online purchase Tuesday to pick up on Thursday. Several of the items were on sale and the sale was ending that night, Tuesday night. Make note of that. I paid, got my email saying the store was working on it, my pickup time, all that good stuff. So, Thursday I picked up my order. The girl who loaded it in my car was very nice, very polite. No complaints about her at all. However, fast forward to today, Friday. I received an email telling me that there was a charge from Pick'n'Save today. I didn't go in the store to make that charge and I hadn't ordered anything else. WTF? I checked my receipt. Nope, it's not on there. I called the store, and was directed to the online order department, who were confused. Back to the original person, who tried to get the manager for me. While I was on hold, the manager, Kristen (Kristin?) picked up, not by design, I believe. I explained the matter to her. In bits and pieces, because she constantly interrupted me in a very aggressive manner. What I didn't know-- because nowhere on the website does it explain this-- if you order a sale item but pick it up AFTER the sale is over, you're charged the non-sale price for it. Kristin (Kristen?) very forcefully explained this to me. I told her that, since this hadn't been stated anywhere, or at least not anywhere easily found, I'd be happy to return the water and she could unload it from my car and refund my money in its entirety. She then said, "Well, that doesn't mean we won't give you the money back on your charge!" Okay, Kristen (Kristin?). I'll come in, and you or someone else will refund that charge for me. I can't vouch for the store, in itself, as I live in Oak Creek and it's a bit of a drive, but I went to a wedding shower and had the most amazing cupcakes shaped into a bouquet with a special butter whipped frosting. I live smack dab in the middle of the location of this PNS and the one on 76th and Cold Spring and I will pick this location each and every time, simply because of the parking lot. This Pick n Save moved from a mile or so south. The old store was a disaster, with frequent accidents on Hwy 100 due to the design of the road and intersections. Unfortunately, they failed to substantially improve here. Pick is located at the far side of a large parking lot that serves a strip of stores, Pick itself, and a few other places. The parking lot is *very* busy and there is nothing short of a maze of entrances and exits that all feel like they were poor compromises. Traffic entering the "main" entrance may be going to any of the stores, or Walgreens or the bank, and since the entrance is only a block from the massively busy Janesville Rd and Hwy 100 crossing, it can be a real pain to turn in from the southbound side of Hwy 100. Inside, the store is large and modern. Unfortunately, it seems to lack intuitive organization, and it always seems difficult to find the right area of the store for whatever you're looking for. Worse, there are frequently lines that take a fair amount of time to check out, so it is annoying to go to Pick n Save for a "quick stop" to "pick up a few items." I'll concede that it's probably fine for major shopping expeditions, but I like Sendik's better for that. read more

I was at this store on Friday Dec. 16, 2022. I noticed the sign up above a gondola rear end of 4x Fuel Points on Friday. I take out my phone and wait for it to turn on to reach to scan the QR code. Then I had to download the app to clip the coupon to my Rewards Card. I was not sure of my password, but I did guess right to log into my account to clip the coupon, which I did and showed in my coupons, along with 4 other coupons I clipped the night before. After checkout, the 4 coupons I clipped the night before registered, but not the 4x Fuel Points. In trying to call Kroger Headquarters is no good, as they are so busy with other complaints that being on hold is ridiculous! read more

If you don't want to read the whole review, the take away is to stay away. The downward trajectory of this business is evident. I've been in this community for decades and the death spiral started about ten years ago. It feels like Pick N Save is conducting an experiment in human nature. Just like you can boil a live frog on the stove if the temperature is turned up slow enough, so will a customer put up with decreasing levels of service and quality if it happens on a long enough time line. The experience starts as you walk in the door. I've witnessed ugly exchanges between the staff at the hot bar and customers who have been waiting an unreasonably long time to just get someone to acknowledge them. Imagine what a grocery store would look like if it were run by the cable company; that's Pick n Save. Today, I simply wanted a half pound of ham. The man working the deli counter had one person in front of me. It took about 18 minutes to get my order filled; a half pound of ham. They are often out of basic staples, i.e. half and half. On a busy Friday night at 5:00 p.m., the store is woefully understaffed. To make up for the lack of employees, they brought in self-serve check outs. When they felt like the savings on Human Resources was being outweighed by the customer theft at the self-checkout, they installed cameras on the self-checkout to try to keep people honest. This is a small town with good folks. No one here is a criminal. If they are experience loss at their registers, it's likely more of an act of revolt than a property crime. This business is an example of corporate apathy rivaled only by the disregard of their employees. I blame myself for not breaking the habit of walking into this establishment every week. The first step is to recognize that I have a problem. The next step is to drive the extra block down the road to the festival foods. read more

I will no longer be shopping at pick n save. I wanted to purchase something in the meat department but the employee had his mask below his nose so that was a major turnoff! I proceeded to the deli to find the day situation so another no go. I did get a few items and did self checkout. The attendant was not bothering to wipe down any of the touch screens! I have lived 2 blocks away from this store for over 11 years now...this store was never down the road 2 miles (that store is still there) this was simply an older PNS that was outdated! It has now been remodeled extensively and is beautiful inside, it has definitely come into it's own since bought by Kroger. Awesome produce dept. Pizza bars, salad and soup and olive bars . A dining area "it is awesome" Just great now. I live close by and rarely shopped here just because it was so outdated. I shop here now and look forward to my visit, it has everything and is a great shopping experience! Go kroger!!! read more

This store has a lot of issues. It says it opens at 6 AM, however, for the first 30-45 minutes, they don't have checkers. I was in a line 15 deep at 6:30 in the morning with only one of the self checkout scanners working and literally no staff members to be seen. Within 5 minutes of me being in line, that self scanner ended up with an "error" and all of us just sat around while other people called out and looked for staff members. One lady in line used her cell phone to call the store and someone we could not see answered. She said it was a guy who told her that there was a checker on the way and that he couldn't do anything to help. Seriously?!? So we sat there until almost 7:00 when a checker walked in from outside. I few of the people in line said this tends to happen a lot. Why even bother to open at 6:00 if you aren't going to have people to help? I don't understand it. In addition, it is unbelievably difficult to get anyone to bag groceries. Even if you have your hands full with young children, they will almost never offer to do so. My suggestion is to wait until 7AM and go to the Pick n Save at 7780 South Lovers Lane Road in Franklin. They always have enough staff, always bag groceries, and are always willing and ready to help read more

I really like this PNS location. There is another one closer to me but I will drive down the road to go to this one instead. Large enough to have many different items but small enough to make it easy to run in and out of to pick up a few things when needed. Store is very clean and the workers are always helpful. Service desk is great too, very patient and take as long as needed to help you out. Parking is good and you can always get a close spot. read more

I kinda like this store for some reasons but for others I don't. I like the selection, and the staff at this store. In fact, I'm not sure I've found another grocery store where the staff was making as much of an effort to help as here. They are generous with accepting coupons. I also like how they support the community, especially with their annual Easter egg hunt. Very awesome. I don't like how busy it can get on Saturday Mornings. I don't feel it's safe to bring a child with me because other shoppers almost ran him over once. Another time there was a teenager riding in the basket of the shopping cart. This was later in the evening. Also, I wish they would not allow overfilled baskets into the express lane. That being said, I still go there at least once a week. :) read more

My boyfriend and I often visit this location because it is near to where we live and we've never had a problem up until today. We stopped in to pick up some things we needed, checked out at the self check out register- everything was fine until the register called for an employee to come by for some reason. The employee came by, did whatever she needed to do then she was showing us that we can remove our bags whenever we need to. She proceeded to put our bag of groceries on the GROUND. This may not seem like a big deal for some, but my boyfriend has SEVERE OCD when it comes to germs, so instead of the employee offering for us to re-shop for our groceries, we paid about $70 then tossed all of our items into the garbage because when you have SEVERE OCD AND ANXIETY shopping is hard enough as it is, but to get through that process and have someone PUT ALL OF YOUR FOOD ON THE GROUND for NO reason, that really sucks. I know this may be confusing to many, but it could have all been avoided if our groceries were left UNTOUCHED and OFF THE FLOOR. read more

This place needs work. The staff seems nice enough, but more than once I've brought home meat that turns out to be EXPIRED. Gross and a waste! I've had meat packages leak blood on me, seen cooler leaks left under a pile of paper towels and a cover on the floor sealed in duct tape.
