I went to pickles for the first time three weeks ago I asked for a taste of the corn beef at one slice and one slice of pastrami because I'm used to New York pastrami stuff is way too salty can't eat it so I didn't order it either tuna sandwich it was fine. Would I go back now? read more

Great service but for a vegetarian eater, this place does not have enough options. This was disappointing as they have a huge variety of meat sandwiches but less than 4 choices for vegetarians. I chose the veggie wrap which is basically mushroom/vegetables/ plus cheese and avocado (these add ons are extra) in a flour tortilla. It comes with a side of chips. Food came out fast and one bite in my wrap, my tortilla was breaking apart due to it being super soggy. There were hardly any mushrooms and the vegetables were not seasoned at all. It was so bland and the fact it was dripping oil every time I picked it up, was disappointing. See picture. I hardly finished it. To Owners- Please take this item off the menu and instead offer more varieties of a vegetarian sandwich. read more

We love pickles plus. When we want a good deli sandwich this is our go to place. I took away a star because last night I checked in on Yelp and called in an order and they didn't give my husband who picked up our order the check in discount. The food was still delicious though. read more

Food is good. Service was great, and ambiance was good. The prices don't break you down for the week

Pretty good option for sandwiches when our other go-to's are closed. We ordered to-go and got the Italian, the Greek salad, and the Pickles Choice- all came in around $40. Of the three, the Greek salad was the best. The Italian was pretty good, but hard to eat because it was so full with the shredded lettuce and tomatoes on top. The Pickles Choice was out least favorite, but still not bad. My husband put it well "nothing was bad enough to make me not want to go back, but nothing was good enough to make me suggest we go again soon" read more

One of our "Go-to" restaurants. Great pastrami and corned beef. I'm not a big soup person but I'm a huge fan of their mazo ball soup and the chicken pot pie soup. Best of all - they're consistent. Quality and service is always good. Good value, you get what you pay for which is a rarity these days. read more

When it's time to eat but you're not sure what you're in the mood for, pickles plus is the perfect place for you! They have a lot of variety on their menu. We live in the area and have been many many times, and they have never disappointed. Their portions are healthy, especially for dinner. The spaghetti and the hamburgers are amazing and for lunch my favorite is the chicken salad sandwich. But seriously, I have never had something that I didn't care for! The staff is so friendly, and they don't see a lot of turnover which is nice, because if you go often, they get to know you. No matter what meal of the day, pickles plus is highly recommended! read more

Only giving 2 stars because the Reuben sandwich was delicious. The service however was terrible. Sat down, server got drink orders, delivered drinks and took order....that was the last she stopped by. We ordered a soup along with our sandwiches. Unfortunately the soup never arrived. Whatever it happens. The sandwiches were brought out, amazing! Server never came to check our drinks, which had run out. She dropped the check off at the table without even looking or checking on us. The check included the soup. Luckily it was easy enough to get it fixed at the counter and when asked for a to-go drink it wasn't a minute before someone handed me one. I had been told it was a little expensive for the food, $34 for 2 Reubens with chips and a sweet tea. This is about our normal cost for when we go out to lunch if not a little less. I honestly feel like our server didn't expect us to tip so she didn't care enough to put the effort into her service. My husband and I are in our early 30's and he had been working out in the yard. We weren't in business attire as most others were that were checked on multiple times by our server. Having worked in the restaurant service years ago for a decade we always clean and stack our dishes and tip at least 20% & 35% on average. We understand that if there's a issue, it's generally not the servers fault. However, today it definitely was and we left feeling less than. Even though the food was delicious, we will not be supporting nor recommending this restaurant any longer. Which sucks because I was really looking forward to have a new local spot to enjoy besides our regulars. read more

Ordered 2 sandwiches and it came out to nearly $40, we asked for no Swiss cheese on the club sandwich because we are allergic so we sent it back then watched one of the sandwich makers mutilate the sandwich we returned and put the same meat and toppings that touched the Swiss cheese on a new piece of bread and tried to serve us a cross contamination sandwich, don't eat here they are not cleanly you will have a better time and experience at Jason's deli down the street This place needs to be shut down they are going to get someone sick and possibly hospitalized for their lack of Food Safety read more

I've eaten lunch here a few times and never been disappointed with their sandwiches. I highly recommend both the Cuban and the Italian. I've had this place on my radar for a while now to visit for BREAKFAST. Of course this is strongly influenced by the fact that they make their own corned beef hash, which I'm a sucker for! I wanted to scroll thru Yelp photos before ordering to see what other menu items intrigue me but I realized there are no breakfast foods pictured here!!! Well...I also failed my fellow Yelpers because I didn't think to take pictures of my food until it was far too late, although I did snap a pic of my remaining hash since it was ultimately the reason for my visit. Breakfast was slightly a flop for me but the place was packed so perhaps my tastebuds were off?? I ordered The Duke, which consisted of eggs (got them scrambled to mix with my hash), bacon, wheat toast, and grits. Scrambled eggs- tasted like they were from a bottle and not a freshly cracked & scrambled egg Bacon- flavorful and cooked perfectly Wheat toast- bread was bland and drenched in melted "butter" that had no flavor so it was probably that oil stuff Grits- a little watery but decent flavor Corned beef hash - not the best but also not the worst. It was simply quartered red potatoes, deli style corned beef that had been shredded, along with some onions. I would have preferred my potatoes to be diced much smaller and cooked crispier. OJ - not fresh squeezed, nothing special. The service was great and our waitress was very attentive for it being peak brunch time. On a side note, there is a storm blowing in and it blew a VERY heavy umbrella over causing it to fall onto me. Luckily it was my arm and not my head because it could have easily knocked me out but I got no compassion from the staff. Kinda disappointing. Long story short I'll only be returning for lunch in the future. read more

We Are from out of town and wanted to grab a bite to eat we didn't want at a chain or fast food. This was a great choice! Traditional deli food, good size servings, and fast service. They have outdoor dining but don't sit at the table by the trash cans. I gave it 4 stars because although everything was great, our table wasn't clean, I had to move a high chair off the table area and the patio floor where I sat had food that presumably the baby the high chair was for had thrown on it and it was quite a mess. Very annoying trying to keep my shoes out of it the entire time. read more

I am so happy that this place exists. It is worth the drive from Tampa. I had been craving matzo ball soup, pickles and a hot pastrami sandwich. I found what I was looking for at Pickles Plus. How happy was I that the daily special was for matzo ball soup with half a pastrami sandwich? The matzo ball soup was perfect, with a rich broth, fluffy matzo balls, and tender chicken. It reminds me of the soup at my favorite diner in Los Angeles. I wish they gave me a bowl of pickles, but the one they gave was a good size and perfectly crispy and dilly and sour. The pastrami sandwich was very good. The pastrami melted in my mouth. I wish the bread was a little thinner and less fluffy, but it's hard getting good rye in central Florida, I think. The decor is basic, but the waitresses are friendly. read more

We stopped by for a quick bite and I'm so glad that we did. Pickles Plus has been a mainstay of the Countryside area of Clearwater/Safety Harbor for years. We've been coming here for around 20 years. The waitresses are always friendly and outgoing. The portions are typically enormous. When you arrive and seat yourself, head straight for any open booth. The green lawn chairs at the tables can be cruel. Today, we both got the Burger Platter with cheese ($8.99 plus $.79 for cheese). (see pic) They come with a huge amount of hot French fries and a good old whole dill pickle. We also ordered a basket of their Basket O' Onion Rings ($6.99) just because. The rings come with a choice of dipping sauces and we opted for the Southwestern sauce. Awesome! On my many visits here I've had the Hot Pastrami, Greek Salad and the Pickles' Choice sandwich and they were all delicious. The prices are reasonable for what you get and you will not be disappointed! read more

Super service always a great breakfast to start the day. COVID compliance being followed, order in or takeout. A Clearwater landmark for years at Harbor Center this location is smaller but puts out super food all day & everyday! Loads of menu options for the picky eaters in your family. My go to for years has been the everything bagel egg, cheese and bacon sandwich. So good for $6.49. Daily specials are always a good choice too. read more

Stopped in for breakfast this morning as I always do when I drop my dog off for grooming. However, this morning I was totally ignored. After about seven minutes oh, would you like coffee? Yes I would never came back with coffee when about her business cutting lemons so after another five minutes, I politely said I'll come back when you're not so busy seriously folks I understand The service industry is struggling, but really cutting lemons instead of waiting on a customer. Who's been sitting there now for 10 minutes waiting for coffee. I'll be finding a new place for breakfast. Obviously so sad. read more

I have been visiting Pickles Plus regularly since we moved to Florida over 20 years ago. I hear a lot of people say, "oh, it's like a Lucky Dill." No, Lucky Dill is like a Pickles Plus that's not doing it right. If you're a fan of Lucky Dill I would urge you to go to Pickles Plus and se what a real NY style deli can provide. I've had so many things over the years, some of the greats are the tuna melt on rye or just tuna salad, matzo ball soup, egg salad sandwich, fries, Italian hoagie, hot pastrami on rye, oh and the pickles!!! On my most recent visit I tried a special called the turkey frisco melt that was also amazing. The tuna sandwich holds a special place in my heart as it was my Gram's favorite sandwich and we would share it almost weekly but it's also amazing. The rye bread is so good and the tuna salad is just the way I like it, make it a melt and it's even better!!! The matzo ball soup is the best I've had in Pinellas county. There's not much to it, it's simply delicious. The egg salad sandwich on white has been my new obsession. Again, their bread is just out of this world - fresh baked goodness. The reason I love the egg salad is it's as good as mom made it. No weird additions like relish or mustard. Simply eggs, mayo, salt and pepper like it should be. The turkey frisco melt was thin sliced Boars Head turkey breast, Swiss cheese, crispy bacon, and honey mustard on grilled rye. It was warm and melty yet crispy all at once. I'm glad I tried this new item!! I love that Pickles stays true to their name, their pickles are amazing. If I could have one type of pickle for the rest of my life it would be a Pickles Plus pickle! Give Pickles a shot, you won't be disappointed. read more

Stopped in for breakfast Sunday. Good service. My husband liked the pancakes but said his scrambled eggs were over cooked. I had an omelette. Looked pretty but egg was a bit chewy & the veggies in the omelette were undercooked. Kind of flavorless/ even the jack cheese in the omelette. The home fries were nice & crispy and not greasy. The sourdough toast tasted more like wonder bread;) Sounds like their Reubens are the specialty so might try again for one of those. read more

A nice deli restaurant with plenty of seating inside and out. I have a thing for the Hot Joey which can be made on a hoagie bun or as a salad. The homemade soups and salad dressings are exceptional. In my past few visits service has been a little slower so can't give them 5-stars read more

Pickles Plus is the most wonderful place to eat lunch. Friday Half sandwiches with a bowl of clam chowder is my favorite, but I'm working on tasting their other specialty dishes as well. Sure miss coming to Pickles Plus this last month due to Florida State mandates to close all restaurants for the Corona-Virus. Good to learn that Pickles Plus is now doing take-out orders. Meat eaters can skip this review, vegetarians - read on. First I tried ordering the veggie burger. Out. Fine. No biggie. Thankfully they had a veggie wrap option. Here's my beef with this place - I'm ordering a V-E-G-G-I-E wrap - it's nothing but lettuce, sprouts, tomatoes, cucumbers, sautéed mushrooms and onions so it is reasonable to think there would be a sufficient amount of these cheapo veggies stuffed in the wrap. Wrong. There was barely any veggies. I think I counted 6 mushrooms. And they did not have any sprouts. Pathetic. It's bad enough to have a boring sandwich but it's worse to have so little veggie filling that you are still hungry. read more

This place is just the best deli. I'm from Miami but have been visiting the Palm Harbor area for over 40 years. I can't tell you how long I have been eating at Pickles Plus on McMullen and Enterprise but it is my go to place when I'm in town. My mouth salivates as soon as I start my 4 1/2 hour trek from home just knowing I'll soon be eating a warm corned beef on rye at this place. The menu is quite varied and they offer daily specials. Soups, sandwiches, salads, wraps. Even some entree dishes for a heartier meal. I'm very partial to the corned beef sandwich but everything is fresh and the staff friendly and quick. A gem of a place. You need to try it out. I'm planning to move up this way soon so I can enjoy eating here several times a week. It's cheaper than getting them to open a location in Miami. So good!! read more
