I absolutely love Keiko Swanberg; she is a highly experienced and incredibly positive certified trainer. Her teaching style makes a world of difference, and the progress seen in the classes is a testament to her expertise! However, the facility itself leaves much to be desired. The space is consistently dirty and unkempt. There is a very noticeable smell, and dog hair accumulates heavily in all the corners and along the edges of the room. It is disappointing to have such a high-quality trainer working in an environment that feels so neglected. I hope the management prioritizes a deep clean soon to match the caliber of their instructors.

Indie requires some extra attention and care due to some injuries and food sensitivities, and when Carolyn and Kim were there- she definitely received all the love and attention! Indie knows Jason very well and enjoys his company, and I believe she is slowly warming up to some of the newer staff (she is a particular pup.) Indie always comes back exhausted from camp, and we always love seeing photos of he on her walks, or playing games, or, her favorite, getting pup cups! The team at Jax, especially the Companion Camp have always been informative and caring and we know that Indie is in good hands here, when there were days her arthritis was acting up, the Jax team was quick to contact us, and let us know how she was doing so we could determine if she should just rest, or if we should come get her. She also wears a brace (for her arthritis) when she is active- so Jax has been very understanding in learning how to put it on her, and when it should be used. We have also given her a bath in their facilities (wish it was open on weekends but understand that requires additional staffing) We are currently taking our 2nd class on K9 Nosework with Austin on the weekends - and she loves it! We have had positive experiences at Jax and truly appreciate all of the folks that look after her when she is in their care.

Ok, well that makes sense so how about you come meet my dog then tell me about the program. No go. They want money upfront and will not tell you anything about how many times a month they'll be working with you and your pooch. I even asked "So you are saying you may only see my dog two times in tehwhole year?" Then they started getting snarky. See below...

Do not waste your money! Bark Busters is a scam. I'm not even sure the trainers are well trained. I…read moreadopted a dog, a mix husky/pit bull who's been abandoned by previous owner and was found on the streets of Seattle. Not sure of my dog's background but he clearly has PTSD. He's aggressive towards other dogs and he's protective of food. Jordan recommended we use one of Bark Busters's harness which I paid a fortune for it but since my dog's behavior was not improving, he then recommended we use a prong collar as my dog is quite strong due to his mix breeds. At first, it worked since my dog got hurt every time he would try lunging at other dogs. But he got used to the collar. His pain tolerance is quite high as he's mainly husky. But after a while, my dog had even more aggressive behaviors and he got very frustrated at me while walking, jumping on me. He also started getting into this trance when he was seeing or even just smelling another dog. When in trance, I couldn't touch him or he would try to bite me. I made a lot of research and in fact prong collars shouldn't be used with dogs with PTSD. It makes their anxiety and fear even worse. I wasn't keen on using a prong collar in the first place but I thought Jordan knew what he was doing. Also, I paid for a year long training and he ghosted me after 6 sessions inventing those weird excuses like having driven on a dead body on the freeway so his car got damaged hence he couldn't come. I've always found the Bark Busters' pricing strange and I should have read reviews before but I was desperate to find a solution for my dog so I paid $1095. I got 6 sessions so at least Jordan didn't ghost me after the 1st session but I can't even say I learned anything and for sure Jordan worsen my dog's behavior so please, don't bother. Think about the Bark Busters' pricing. You pay for 1 year or for a lifelong training. The amount for a year is in the end not that expensive if the trainer comes every 2 or 3 weeks. So how can the trainer earn money? How can he live if you only pay $1095 for a year? Well, the trainer has to ghost you in order to get more clients and continue earning money. Jordan will ask you to grunt at your dog (I'm still not convinced it works and that there is science behind it) and to spray water at your dog but none of these work. Go to your vet and ask for recommendations. Or go to a place that people you know recommended.

You can tell how much she loves animals and her caring disposition. I brought in my Rhodesian Ridgeback, who is a rescue, and he could absolutely not get enough of her. She is so kind and loving towards animals... I can see why she is fabulous at this profession! Kyla, thank you for being such a loving person, and loving our animals when we bring them into the grooming salon. I know sometimes a lot of dogs are barking and stressed out, and I can tell that you just have an amazing disposition and a love for animals, thank you!!

I even agreed to go with a shorter cut to make things easier for her. However, after having my dog for two hours, she called and said his head was too matted to finish grooming. This felt more like an excuse than a genuine issue. It seemed like she didn't want to complete the job, especially since she already appeared behind and uninterested when I first arrived--she kept us waiting while she was outside vaping. I'm extremely upset that my dog was sent home like this. Not only did the groomer think this was acceptable, but the manager did as well. There was plenty of opportunity at check-in to assess whether the grooming could be completed. Instead, she shaved almost all of my dog's body and left his head untouched, making him look completely uneven. This experience was very disappointing. I will not be returning, and I strongly believe Kara O should not be handling dogs if this is the level of care provided.
