Outstanding. Lots of onions and green peppers on a nicely buttered and toasted roll. I upgraded potato chips to french fries which was a disappointment. They were limp and extremely greasy. And as they cooled they got worse. Will try the tater tots next time and ask for them crispy. Carley the server is the bomb. Very friendly and attentive. Saw a couple burgers being served i have to try

TRIP ADVISOR: HOTEL EXPERT LEVEL-8 5 Star…read moreThe Pitt: best bar in Pittsburg, Kansas! Down home atmosphere, great sport bar food and snacks. Several beers on draft. My wife and I have enjoyed many lunches and a few late- night dinners where we entertained guests at The Pitt in downtown Pittsburg, Kansas. We are frequent visitors to Pittsburg State University, my alma mater, and to SE Kansas in general, where I grew up from age 8 on. The Pitt excels in down-home friendliness, hospitality of waitstaff [most of whom seem to be female university students]. We always enjoy chatting with them prior to ordering, and even now and then throughout our meals. There is a decent selection of cold draft beers. House salad sides are HUGE [wife and I share one, and usually take some back to our hotel]. We always try something new such as versions of their nachos or quesadillas; some are keepers, some we won't order again, but ALL ARE GOOD!

Maybe they need more people working h in the back during busy times. I ordered a concha ice cream sandwich. I think the idea was better than the actual item. We parked across the street and walked over funny enough with another group so when we entered they thought we were all together. The Hostess told us it would be a few minutes for our party(4). We were seated in the bar area at a table that had a long booth seat down the wall and then 2 chairs. The vibe of the restaurant was cool, it was kind of dark and had cool lanterns in the tall windows, black and white posters of Pitt State Gorillas throughout that were fun. The was a lounge area in the back with a couch/chairs to sit and hang out while you're having drinks. Our server was friendly and greeted us promptly. She recommended a drink when I asked her which of the two I was contemplating-I went with the basil lemonade. My friend's drinks were a Moscow Mule, Amaretto Sour and a Paloma-we all enjoyed our cocktails. For dinner I went with the Steak Frites, which was delicious! My friend's dinner-1 had the crab cakes(app)with a side salad. 1 had the club sandwich and lastly one had the pork chop dinner(which looked amazing) We all had a bite or two of the crab cakes which were fantastic! Over all we all enjoyed our meal and the vibe of the restaurant. I would recommend trying this place out if you're in the area.

TRIP ADVISOR: HOTEL EXPERT LEVEL 8 Brick and Mortar,…read morePittsburg, Kansas "Bartender" or perhaps manager does not understand hospitality My wife and I have enjoyed dinners, and entertained guests at Brick & Mortar, in downtown Pittsburg, Kansas several times during our visits to my alma mater and area I grew up in. So, this early August 2026 visit, we planned to treat our friends and some family to dinner at Brick & Mortar, as we had in past visits. First evening in Pittsburg, we decided to check out Brick & Mortar with a light dinner. We had house small salad, wonderful crab cakes and, eventually a pizza. ALL the food was excellent! What spoiled our experience was with interaction with "Bartender" or perhaps manager. When our excellent waitress asked for our choice of drink, we requested the Bread and Butter Chardonnay that we'd enjoyed on prior visits. She informed that it was no longer available. OK... Her advice was Estancia Chardonnay, and we ordered one glass to try. That wine was fine. But... "Bartender" or perhaps manager visited our table to explain in detail how that wine was selected to replace the Bread and Butter Chardonnay. His table visit was also just fine as "Bartender" or perhaps manager displayed our shared passion for quality affordable wines. We went on to enjoy our excellent meal, took leftover pizza boxed, tipped waitress and departed. As we walked out past the bar, I walked near walked, shook his hand and thanked him for his insight on wines. He responded to the effect "We [our restaurant] loses money on wines, only profit from mixed drinks." To which I thought: then STOP selling wine, or stop telling customers not to buy wine! Overall, our experience was good. So I told "Bartender" or perhaps manager that we enjoyed our meal and we would return with friends. To which "Bartender" or perhaps manager replied: "IF.. I allow you!" So... we did NOT allow "Bartender" or perhaps manager to exercise that option. Never returned to Brick & Mortar during our remaining stay. Hope "Bartender" or perhaps manager gets help to understand hospitality
