Visited here during my daughter's college orientation visit. I love the name of the "Pitt's burger". I wasn't hungry enough to try it. I had the ono Hawaiian burger that had two good size juicy delish hamburger patties, a pineapple ring and secret kahuna sauce that tasted sort of like a sweet bbq to me. Very good and very filling! Choices for sides we all chose the onion rings. Thin cut light tempura type breading, VERY GOOD! also very filling as you get a pile of them! I want to try other things so will definitely be back! They have Coke products which is a big plus for me and our family! My wife wasn't as hungry so she got three sliders HOWEVER, the sliders had double patties too so each slider was big! And also very tasty! I haven't tried the chicken sandwiches or the wings so I don't know how they are and I may not get to them either because the burger was SO good! Was looking for a place that had food our 4 and 6 year old grandsons could eat, so after much searching online, we decided to give this place a try. First of all, the bar height only tables are not conducive to bringing small kids to a restaurant. The adults were nervous trying to make sure they didn't fall off the bar height chairs. I had the burger with the egg on it. Loved everything about this burger. Both burger and egg cooked perfectly. Wife had the Hawaiian burger, which she thought was delicious. Brother-in-law had the burger with the mac and cheese with the mac and cheese on the side; he absolutely raved about the mac and cheese. For appetizers, we bought the pepperjack bites and the spicy green beans. The green beans were fabulous, although I would have enjoyed dipping them in a spicier ranch than regular ranch, although it was very good ranch. We all ordered the french fries and onion rings with our dishes. All of us agreed both the rings and the fries were on the greasy side. I think the greasiness of the fries is what gave my stomach some issues later. The bartender who took care of me paying the bill was very nice. Big, welcoming, friendly smile; pleasant attitude and communication. The service industry needs more people like this guy. Would definitely try this place again to try something else on their vast menu. Might have to not eat for about two days so I can try the double patty hamburger with the fried chicken in the middle of the sandwich. Or their fried peanut butter and jelly. Great little bar and grill with some great food!! I had the breakfast burger with onions and boy was it tasty! This cheeseburger topped with an egg, sausage and bacon will definitely fill you up. My colleague and I shard the jalapeño bottle caps as she enjoyed her Baby Nachos with ground beef. We washed it down with the Mango Cart beer that was surprisingly and very delicious and refreshing brew. If you're in or near Pitt State University, ya got to try out The Pitt which is located downtown Pittsburg KS. It's a must!!! read more

Lots of food! When you order make sure you are hungry or have lots of friends. The service was happy, prompt and cheerful. The Pitt is definitely a sports bar vibe so if that's okay then you will love the atmosphere. It definitely fill all our check boxes and the food was delicious. read more

As for the atmosphere, I'll say it's good. Seems like a very happening place if you want to go for the game and some beers. Unlucky for me I don't go for the game and the beers. The food is bland! Excellent service.....Great Food....but buzz-killed it for me by charging me 4% because I used a credit card. They get charged 3% by the credit people......and kick it up to 4% to their customers. Never was told this. I will bring cash next time. read more

All I can say is "GET THE KEG!" - 50 wings, 5 flavors, and delivered in a baby key platter. Wings hit the spot and the fries are pretty tasty as well. Sweet Thai Chili, Mango Habanero, Buffalo, Hot Honey, and BBQ. You wont be disappointed! Pretty typical bar fare otherwise. Great place for wedding reception with family and friends.. They had the place full of people on both the curtained off side and the main bar side. The restrooms were easy to find and the space in the place was nice. They the bar keep took fantastic VIP like care of us !!!! Maggie - you ROCK!!! The bar was set up and the bartenders rocked out! The TVs had football on. The DJ played great music and the food catered in cooked by the groom was sure tasty. I will if invited to a function here again join with excitement... First timer... and it's good enough to leave a five star review. I normally wait for 2nd or 3rd visits, but this place is special enough to leave a review the first time out. Great atmosphere, service, and a variety of drink and food options. Split wings, onion rings, and The Pittsburger double burger with Joel... and they were all a hit. Onion rings are shoestring style, that's the only detractor. Sweet onions and great batter... made them an excellent option to throw on the burger. Wings; went with Cajun jerk dry and they were great! The Pittsburger; a double burger with a thin layer of fried chicken... amazing!!!! Try this place out.... I'll be back for more!!!! read more

Amazing place!! We arrived around noon on Saturday. It was packed, so we had a little wait, but once we were seated we were served right away! The bar and grill was full of TVs with various games on....including the local Pitt state track meet. Great environment! The "Pittsburger" was amazing...2 beef patties with fried chicken in the middle! Sides we loved - onion rings, flavored fries (Cajun jerk) and fried pickles. Highly recommend stopping if you're in the area. Price - burgers run about $8 - $12 each (includes side). read more

Thought it was a well made burger. Saw a Roach tho. Kinda humid but I liked the food. If you dont want a crowded ambiance just order online.

It was ok. Average food. No stand out, except they had tater tots, no true must order meals. Service was ok. Not too costly.

We had to do a quick move out of my son from the dorms and we needed a bite to eat as we headed out of town. My son said he heard good things about this place and I can attest they are all true. Had one of the best burgers I have ever had! I got a huge double cheeseburger with jalapeños, pepper jack cheese, and a scoop of Mac and cheese! Was happy when what they called onion rings was more like crispy onion straws because they were sliced thin. Their appetizers were generously portioned--And I love that they had fried green beans which is one of my favorite apps. And their fried pickles passed our taste test too. Even if you don't want a giant heart attack causing burger, I recommend this place. Pretty quiet the day we went but the service was great too. The food at The Pitt is nothing short of amazing. We had the fried pickles that had a perfect kick of spicy to it. Then we had a Hawaiian chicken sandwich and the fish and chips. The breading on the fish was not your typical beer batter that tends to be soggy underneath. Finally, the BYOB (build your own burger) was PHENOMENAL!!!! The meat was seasoned to PERFECTION. Hands down one of the top 3 burgers I've ever had!!! Can't wait to go back when I visit. The service from the staff was quick and pleasant too! read more

We tried The Pitt for the first time and won't be the last. A group of 8 of us met there a little after 11 for lunch and it was getting busy already. Our waitress was great. She was knowledgable, attentive and very friendly. She always had a smile. The food was all really good. We had 3 different apps. Fried pickles, onion rings and chips and queso. All were delicious and a lot of them. The meals we chose were all over the menu and everyone thought they were very good. I had the chili cheese dawg. Deb had grilled chicken sliders. There was also an ultimate grilled cheese, a Hawaiian burger, a regular burger a slider basket and a salad. Most took food home and all enjoyed the meal. Now, the NCAA basketball tournament was just getting started so I can't say what it's like other times. But today, it was lively and loud. It was a fun atmosphere. My only regret is I didn't get our waitress's name. I'd love to brag on her so she would know how well she did. read more

This is a great place for food and drinks. Good beer selection and the owner made my wife a SEK Stressor. She loved the fruity flavor and it was the perfect strength on the liquor. We had some boneless wings with the house Kahuna sauce. It was delicious. Kind of a pineapple sweet and sour type sauce with a very mild heat. I had the breakfast burger. We eat lunch there about once a week and their burgers are great. They have salads, wraps and sandwiches that are really good also. Their homemade onion rings are fried crispy along with they fries or side salads you can't go wrong. I travel to Pittsburg from Springfield MO once a week and have been going to The Pitt every week to eat there cause the Food and the Customer Service. I will tell you though I will no longer visit this particular place of business anymore. The MOST DISRESPECTFUL thing a restaurant should be doing is CHARGING FOR WATER! I never noticed as I roughly calculate based on what is ordered and taxes so never looked at my receipt till this time. I bring a crew of my workers along as add a crew of my Partners as well when we come to eat. I go to many restaurants including High-End ones and I'm sure there is others that charge for water but this is the first one I have ever came across that actually does and to make it even sting more is that the water sits in an open container at the bar so it soon turn to room temps. Kind of a shitty way of a business owner to have his/or staff being the ones that have to be the ones dealing with that with their tables. read more
