I absolutely picked the right doctor to do this; he knew how nervous I was but gave me complete confidence before the procedure along with of course being honest about any possible complications that could happen, even though none of those had happened with his patients! Fortunately all went well and even though I still have more healing to go, I'm right on track and know that I'll love the final outcome. He takes so much time to explain everything to you, what to expect, makes himself available if you have any questions or concerns. I cannot say enough positive things about Dr. Pickart!!!! he is highly skilled, very upfront (he even had the ethics to tell me I didn't need a procedure I was ready to book) and thoroughly explains every step of the process. Today I went in for a consultation and ended up getting some filler. I've been to two or three cosmetic dermatologists and I've never had the results I had from one visit with him. I immediately booked another procedure with him and I am looking forward to it. I cannot recommend him highly enough! I got Juvederm lip filler done by Sara Joseph, and was recommended by a friend. The office environment overall is awesome and super welcoming, albeit not the most professional. The receptionist is a doll. However, the quality and professionalism of my procedure is what I care about most, of course. Unfortunately, my lips turned out absolutely asymmetrical, and I don't mean during the healing period. Swelling and asymmetry are typical for the first few weeks or even months, but after 3 weeks I called with concern. They did not look natural- I had two visible bumps on my upper lip. I ended up going in to have Sara check it out. She said my options were to 1. Remove the filler via a dissolvent, which would likely dissolve all of it (later learned that's NOT true, a skilled doctor can do this easily) or 2. Add more to try to even it out. I had to come back for another appointment after that, which was a little frustrating since I didn't want people seeing me. The one good thing about having to wear a mask, lol. So I went back and she added more. I will say that Sara did a great job taking care of me when I started feeling queezy. But then she went to get even more filler from the back, and I started wondering whether the plan was going well....there was no original plan to use more. Anyways, they were worse after the second visit. Again, the lumps. Hard to the touch and stuck out even more when I smiled. I was embarrassed and couldn't take pictures smiling. I let them heal and then went to Dr. McCall who was able to target the lumps and remove just those while still saving the filler in other areas. Thank God for her. What a waste of hundreds of dollars. Go to a plastic surgeon for your injections, not a nurse. :/ read more

I called them to make an appointment for a consultation for a bbl. The lady on the phone said they don't do Brazilian butt lifts. I became bamboozled because they advertise it on their website lol. I explained to her what I want and she just disregarded me and responded "Brazilian butt lifts are extremely dangerous and risky." I told her that's not necessarily true as I got my first one in Culver City a few years ago. So confusing please don't promote false advertising on your website. read more

I just finished my post-surgery follow-up with Dr. Pickart. HE IS THE BEST! The surgery was easy, recovery has been exactly as he described, and my forehead looks fabulous! I still have a bit of redness and a tiny scar, but with some post-op instructions/massaging, it should disappear. Dr. Pickart is fantastic. She has been amazing at determining what my needs are and providing me only the most professional and qualified services just right for me. When I see Sara, I ask her what her recommendations are for me. I trust her and have not been disappointed. There has never been a reason to go anywhere else, and my experience is not just about one or two visits. I probably see Sara more like 5-6 visits a year. Dr Pickart has been a family member's plastic surgeon for a few years now. He is amazing! Whenever I have taken her for a surgery, not only does he give great bedside manner to her, but he really makes a connection with the person waiting for the patient! He made sure to explain everything and then come out after to say how it went, etc. AND- he called personally the next day to see how everything was going. *Having seen her through a few surgeries now, I am blown away by these things about Dr. Pickart: 1) His bedside manner 2) His perfectionism 3) His availability for the patient (e-mail, in-person, phone) 4) His genuine concern for his patient(s) 5) His sense of ethics 6) What an honest to goodness great guy he is, just really great. 7) His never-ending passion to advocate for his patients. * *My aunt survived breast cancer twice. It left her with a breast that needed major reconstruction. I went with her to that first consultation, on through 3 surgeries. Dr. Pickart was so fired up and passionate about making her insurance company cover the repairs. She had waited a long time, trying to save money for it because she had been told by the insurance company that they would not cover it! Dr Pickart made sure the initial surgery was covered and the revisions that needed to happen to get that breast to be perfect! He will also get your insurance company to cover repairs after major weight loss. Sooooo- when I wanted to get a little help with my aging (because I am 40 now!), I went to see Dr P. I live in Pasadena, and it is TOTALLY worth the drive! He was so warm and thoughtful with me. I have acne scars that are difficult to treat, he spent a long time talking options with me and showing me pictures. I never felt rushed. Even though I have to wait on anything big $$ that may really help, he did not try and talk me into anything small that may only possibly help, he said he'll let me know if any fillers prove to be more effective. :-) So I had a little Botox, done by him quickly, and bought some Obaji Nu-Derm hoping it'll save me from the bigger work I can't afford now. After losing 80 pounds, I had rolls of loose skin. Carrying that extra skin was almost as bad as the fat. I decided to look into having the skin removed and spoke with Dr. Pickart. He spent an hour with me explaining all of my options and not in Dr. speak .. simple explanations that a layman could understand. I went ahead with the surgery... I look awesome !! But, I did have some complications (not because of anything Dr. Pickart did) First I had a reaction to a medication.. I called Dr. Pickart on his personal cell phone at 4:00 pm on a Friday (the day before 4th of July). He personally answered the phone and spoke with me regularly throughout the weekend. I recently went to Dr. Pickart to have a cyst removed from my face. He did a beautiful job and my scar is almost non-visible. I met Dr. Pickart shortly after he moved to Ventura County and was amazed at how comfortable I felt speaking with him about post bariatric surgery reconstruction. I had shed 250 lbs and everything was sagging. I did not feel the same level of comfort with the other plastic surgeons I interviewed. With others I felt like I was being "sold". With Dr. Pickart I truly felt like this was my choice with his recommendations as to the surgical details of course. He did a circumferential body lift on me as one surgery, and then brachioplasty, a breast lift and augmentation as my second surgery. He was kind, gentle, accommodating and caring. Now, several years later I am about to call his office and make an appointment for some injectables to deal with some of the facial wrinkles etc of a 70 year old woman who just refuses to grow up. Dr Pickart is amazing as is his whole staff. They made me feel comfortable and at ease right away, which is not easy to do as i suffer from white coat syndrome (even if they don't have the darn coat on!) I have never met a Doctor that was so compassionate and understanding. He truly understands what the patient needs and is very thorough on his explanations and your options. His heart is definitely in the right place. I had a major weight/inches loss recently and he did not make me feel badly about how i looked, in fact it was just the opposite.
