This is my go to Pick 'n Save due to the close distance from my house, however it is unfornately not the best. They do house all essentials however the store is usually disorganized and lacking stocks of fresh produce. The self checkout lines are also often long due to no cashiers being available. The clerks are usually friendly however and do assist if you get stuck at checkout. It is not the best grocery store out there however it does do the job when you need the basics and do not want to drive a long distance. read more

Lazy and disinterested employees. Many of the items advertised as on sale were not available. Those that were did not register the sale price at check out. The employees ignored customers until they were approached, and then seemed annoyed that you broke up their conversation. The sale item that I asked to be credited was thrown into my cart by the employee. The store was dirty with several items past their due dates. Why bother staying open when it is obvious that workers do not want to be there. read more

Literally the worst Pick 'n Save within 30 miles. I only come back because it's so close to me. It feels like there isn't a manager, ever. The store is filthy, and I do not imagine it would pass a health inspection. The produce is disgusting, you have to spend 5 minutes looking for (1) good fruit or vegetable. This location is ideal to downtown mke for your grocery needs while maintaining some savings of a national chain. They have a large parking lot that's shared with other businesses as well. The store has a smaller footprint than your typical suburban PNS, but still offers a decent selection. They have a lovely floral area and great cheese selection. The other night I ventured in looking for strawberries, the produce associate was nice enough to look in the back for me. This location does have a larger liquor department to fit your needs! Typically it's also pretty entertaining for people watching. Luckily I visited during the extreme cold temperatures, so it was quite calm. read more

I think this store mostly seems to exist to separate the patrons from those that shop at Metro Market. The store is not kept up nearly as well and the staff isn't as friendly or helpful, either. Though in full disclosure, they are not any less pleasant than the average Pick N Save employee... When I was there last week, several staff members were not practicing social distancing, making for a very awkward shopping experience given how narrow the aisles are in this store. The only reason I am going with two stars is that I was able to find the items I needed and there was no line at the self-checkout. I'm not likely to stop here again during the Age of Coronavirus. I realized I reviewed this location as 1 star. Customer service being bad is one thing but they usually have everything I am looking for. The store is very clean and organized. I had to use different stores until yesterday. I had to visit them again yesterday and had to deal with unavailable cart issues. Also, checkout had a line for over 10 people. I actually saw people leaving very upset. After waiting for a while before I get a chance to checkout, I saw that they open the cashier line. very bad management. I don't remember if I mentioned this before but I called the customer server (HQ) one time to get these issues reported, but they had worse customer service than the in-store experience. I got hung up on the phone line and the online chat wouldn't connect with me. I don't know if the HQ reading all this, but get some decent help man. read more

This is actually the worst grocery store I've ever been to. We only shop here because it's in walking distance from our house and it's easy to get little things, but we do real shopping at the pick on north, that one is so much better. The east side one is something else....The food on the shelves is often expired,NO ONE WORKS HERE! Lines are always down the aisle, no one to ask for help, the cart collector almost hit me with a bunch of carts yesterday. I don't mean to sound like a karen but I worked in grocery for 4 years, I know what it's like, and it's not that hard to try to give a F. Not to mention all the vagrants in the parking lot constantly. Same lady has harassed me for money so many times and then called me prejudice because I refused, I'm Mexican btw. Despite the size of the store, they don't have a great selection of items, and the service here is not great. The store itself is hard to navigate and finding the item you need is an unnecessary hassle. I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place, considering how much of my take home pay gets spent here. Yes, its a pick n save. It used to be kinda swanky back before the metromart opened (TWO BLOCKS Away) but now its just sorta eh. I wont get too into everything...its small, the parking lot is not good, they run out of things if you're shopping after 7 pm. The employees? Theres a few really good ones and then there's all the rest. You can imagine. I will do some sort of crazy kanban procedure before leaving home to make sure I only need 15 items or less so I don't have to deal with the checkers and can self checkout. There's 2 redboxs in the front, an ok salad bar (they have taco fixings here too), small floral area, and a decent size liquor department to the left when you walk in. This isn't any kind of spectacular grocery store but it gets the job done and like they always say: location, location, location. read more

There is a lot to like and to dislike about grocery stores in general regardless of what city that you are in, Some of them have really good quality merchandise, good customer service and friendlier than usual checkers at the checkout lanes; some of them have substandard quality merchandise, not good customer service and checkers at the checkout lanes who act like the despise their job and are not friendly. This location is no different from many other grocery stores in different cities where I have gone shopping. Some days, customer service is terrific; the people are nice and friendly so that it's not a hassle to go there. Other days, it's quite the opposite. I suppose that it just depends upon who is working and when, too. Caveat emptor: buyer beware. Sometimes, the merchandise on the shelves has expired or is quite near the expiration date. I check expiration dates all the time because I had my own catering company and also worked as a merchandiser, so expiration dates are a thing with me. So when you go there, or to any other store, it's up to you to make sure that you are buying something that hasn't expired yet. Caveat emptor: buyer beware. This store is set up like most of the Pic'n Save stores around the metropolitan Milwaukee area in that they have all the departments that you would expect a grocery store to have; dairy, produce, meat counter and a deli. The aisles are stocked with canned, bottled and boxed food merchandise just as you would expect in a grocery store. The biggest advantage of this store to me and my SO is that it's close to us and within walking distance. It always has what we need when we need it, but we always check the merchandise's dates. Absolutely not. Growing up, mom was always reminding us that hate is a strong word. Guess what? I hate this grocery store. I made a serious mistake by forgetting this fact and heading to PnS' East Pointe location in order to pick up the many items I needed to craft a Mother's Day feast. Two minutes in, I was kicking myself. Yes, it's a Pick 'n Save; it's a chain... how could it be *so* bad, Rachel? Easiest way of it: I'll give you my top five reasons why I find the East Pointe Pick 'n Save downright abhorrent. (In no particular order, mind you) 1. Produce selection: It's difficult to navigate and lacking in variety. Also: 1.89 for a Hass Avocado? Crappy tomatoes? 2. It's like bumper cars in there, and NO ONE cares. Everyone's rude and to be quite frank, it's like a giant cluster-eff of people who don't give a rat's tuckus about one another. That said, it's always, *always* busy. Too busy. 3. The place is too damn small for its own good. Oh good... I can't find anything! Can you get two carts through one aisle? The answer is yes, but not without some serious jockeying. 4. Any semblance of organization borders on the ridiculous. 5. Check-out lanes... you can haz? Probably not. This place makes the Pick 'n Save on Humboldt and North feel like a dream, and that's something. So why not one star? Every once in a while you have an experience that causes such a terrible emotion that one must react. Today is the day I give my thoughts on this grocery store. This is by far the most convenient place for me to buy groceries so I have made several trips here over the years. The Roundy brand I think offers a good value on certain products. The positives end there. The store is completely cramped and hard to navigate. The customers are bitter and inconsiderate at best. Watch out or you may lose a limb. But what disgusts me most is the level of service. The last time I checked out there the two young men checking and bagging groceries were laughing about one of them hitting his girlfriend and how she had it coming. In disbelief I assumed they were joking. They were not in indeed. The conversation continued about when it is okay to hit a female. In my mind domestic abuse is NEVER okay but the very fact that these two men continued a conversation of this nature in the middle of work in front of a customer shows a lack of management control and professionalism. I would recommend this store to someone who does not have a car or a bus pass and really needs to buy some AA batteries or if it is 8:50 and you need a six pack of beer. The closest grocery store to where I live is the Pick N Save at Humboldt and North...also known as hell on earth. Once in a while I get the chance to travel to the East Pointe Pick N Save, which is marginally better. About 3/4 of the produce was missing tags and prices. I don't cook much, so when I'm trying to buy things for a recipe, I need to be told what a zucchini looks like. No help here! This is obviously a location that is lacking in physical space. While it's nice that they try to have "specialty" sections, I think the space could be better used to cater to the basics that most people are looking for. And, as much as I hate talking to people, I do prefer a human cashier to the self checkouts. Just ain't my thang. read more

In general it seems like a younger crowd that shops here compared to the North MKE locations. The check outs can be slow other than that its clean, parking can be a pain as people are constantly going in and out. Most of the sales are good only when they ring up right or if you stick to the basic deals in the advertisements. This place seems smaller than most stores but that might be because of smaller isles. read more

This review probably won't add anything to the standing conversation on this store, but I affectionately call this particular Pick 'n Save "Mediocre Mart". It is the Jan Brady to Metro Market's Marsha. Mediocre Mart always seems on the verge of being in complete shambles or in the full-fledged complete shambles mode. On most days, the fresh selections are scant and the aisles are unorganized. As a previous poster mentioned, good luck on finding any weekly sale items in stock. I've also been tricked by a sales tag on the completely wrong merchandise. Beware of this stunt on the frozen bags of chicken breasts. However, I do find the staff is as friendly and helpful as most Pick n Save stores. In particular, the staff in the liquor department are pretty cool. Maybe since they exist in a demilitarized zone outside of the normal store, they don't count? Now, for the real truth behind why I will frequent this location...it does have a single incredibly redeeming virtue: I don't know anyone who shops here. A grocery shopping trip without any inane small talk and I can wear clothes that are marginally better than PJs? i'lll take it! read more

Tough day at the Pick n' Save. While picking out some veggies, I overheard a man at the deli who was trying to find someone to help him. He was standing there for over five minutes. Fast forward, I was standing at the seafood section, eyeing a nice salmon filet. I figured it this was a 45 second interaction and I would be on my way. About three minutes later, someone came out to help me get that filet into my cart. On another note, I have had bad experiences at other groceries stores but this Pick 'n Save only seems to be disappointing me more often with a lack of customer service. read more

Okay, I only give this place an extra star for the wonderful woman that works in the liquor department! She is amazing, always friendly, always helpful, and always gets you a coupon if there is one with your purchase! Simply awesome. The rest of the store gives me a bit of a headache. A major, pounding headache...if only I could find where they keep the ibuprofen! The produce is never quite fresh and who organized this mess? I can never find what I need and I'm not just carelessly running through the department! I have never gotten served at their deli counter despite waiting patiently. People budge in front of me and push me aside as if I'm not even there...oh, wait! I forgot to take off my invisibility cloak, silly me! Sorry guys! Their sushi counter is acutally one of the better ones (for a grocery store) but it is unnecessary as there are so many options in the area! They finally installed a salad bar, but Metro's remains better, so I'll go the extra block or so... This Pick 'n' Save offers little variety despite it's size and generally speaking offers no incentive to go here other than convenience. This is probably the smallest super market in milwaukee. they never have cold beer, they never have the cigarettes i'm looking for, and the staff is sometimes rude. I literally got laughed at by some punk teenager one time there. Had I not been a guest at his checkout line, I woulda smacked the taste out of his mouth. To it's credit, they do have good prices with a decent butcher and good produce, so it's not all bad. There is no reason for you to be shopping here. Metro Market is literally 2 blocks away and better in EVERY category. Both businesses are owned by Roundy's so I don't feel bad referring people from one of their stores to the other. This Pick and Save location is the smallest I have ever been to so you will not find much outside the basics. The produce/meat selection is extremely limited and usually bottom of the barrel. Again, Metro Market two blocks away will have twice the selection and freshness at the same exact price. I suspect this location just exists for local college students who are too short on time to care and think that Metro Market is out of their price range. Don't settle. read more

Honestly, living on the East Side, your grocery store pickin's all have their own set of problems. Garfield Pick is gross/understocked/understaffed. Metro Market can get pricey. There's no Great store on this side of town. This particular store suffers from being small and not having enough check out lanes. I made the mistake, this time, of going here to do my week's shopping and I ended up having to go to the store on Garfield to buy 4 things that this store didn't have/was out of of. So I guess this location is fine for running in and picking up things here or there, but I wouldn't suggest trying to stock your fridge here on a weekly basis. Because of the limited space, some aisles have weird groupings of food and so there's no intuition to figuring out where things are located. The packets of gravy are in the cereal aisle, for instance. Despite its pitfalls, this store and parking lot are always crazy busy - the liquor store line can be 12 people deep! They have an excess of self check-outs, which can be good and bad, and often have just two of the regular check outs open. It's pretty impossible to run in and out here because of that. That being said, the folks here are by far the friendliest grocery store workers in the area, in my experience. The service desk is actually helpful, the deli ladies are super-nice and the cashiers seem to be less automaton than I've found at other stores. If I'm looking for better cuts of meat than Garfield, but don't want to graduate to the finery and prices at Metro Market, this store usually fulfills that need. read more

Why go to this store when metro market is 2 blocks away. I will never make that mistake again. Every time I grocery shop here something on my list is missing (note restocked), never a basket to grab, no assistance at self-checkout etc. The employees of this store would rather talk by self check out and have fun then help a customer checkout alcohol or assist in anyway. I went back to the store and they could have cared less about finding my items. Then when I did speak to some one they reviewed the footage and said I received everything and asked me to check my things. So I guess my groceries magically disappeared.
