I had an excellent experience yesterday at the PicknPull on Happy Lane. The facility is extremely clean and the staff were very friendly. I was greeted promptly upon entering and asked how I could be helped. I explained I was retiring a car that wouldn't pass smog through the BAR Program, and was immediately directed to the correct desk. There, I was assisted by Crystie, the Vehicle Purchasing Agent. She was very friendly and made everything easy to understand. As long as you arrive with all the required paperwork, the transaction takes about 40 minutes. I was told this when I called ahead, so the timeframe was no surprise. All in all, the process was seamless and stress-free. Very friendly and good cars here - they are not all picked apart like in the bay area. Went to this specific location because there were a few cars I was interested in. Old cars that come around are hard to find so I made the ride and picked around. People working here seem to know car parts - one of the worst thing you can come across here are workers who don't know cars and it happens once in a while - but I noticed here cashiers were quick to get a second opinion. Identifying used car parts is sometimes not so straight forward. A heater cowl or air vent? who knows the difference... The Sacramento area is HOT. Bring water and maybe a hat. read more

The entire process from initial phone contact on. I made a reservation to have my vehicle picked up, that was a week, only to have them call the night before and cancel. I had to rent a trailer to take it to the location. Received a total low ball offer for a vehicle that was registered and in running condition. Then I sat, no , still sitting here for almost 2 hours !!! Don't know what they're doing, obviously they've never done this before ? Absolutely ridiculous !!! This Pick n Pull is located in the area more convenient to me when I have to retire one of the cars I kept a little bit too long! California government has a program that will help you retire a vehicle if it fails to pass the smog check. They'll pay the car owner $1,000 ($1,500 for low-income families) to retire your car. I have a car that fell into the situation. The Pick n Pull locations are the drop-off locations. I pick this location because it is close to me. The storefront is looking much better than I expected. Very clean and the area looks safe with many parking spaces available in front of the building. The workers there are nice and helpful. The instruction is clearly explained to me and let me know how long the paper works estimated time. I have enough time to go home and come back in with another car after I turn this old car in for retirement. The time estimate for the paper works is almost right on. After a few more signatures. I received a $1,000 check from Pick n Pull. Say goodbye to my old car! read more

Was here to retire my vehicle as part of California BAR(Bureau of Automotive Repair) program to retire vehicles that don't pass smog. I was pleasantly surprised with the whole process from state application, acceptance, and turn in. This Pick n Pull on Happy Lane is bright and clean. Monique helped me over the phone and was pleasant and helpful. She also inspected my vehicle and handed me my check from the state. She was very nice and made the process less scary. I needed to find a spare tire cover for my Mini SUV and I was in the area. I had never been to a salvage yard but I heard it was a place to find hard to get accessories and parts for your car. I had called before I had driven up there. I was lucky to find the same car, year, make and model on the lot. I had to pay $2.00 to get on the yard and a very small amount to get the tire cover. ( under $10) The place has a lot of rows of cars, but I was able to find the specific car part I needed. I am thinking of also of buying the whole tailgate and it is super inexpensive. I will have to paint tailgate but that is for another time. They did offer me a pretty price for the entire back of tailgate. The Customer Service is friendly and the sheer convenience of finding parts with an ease of a phone call makes it a no brainer for finding hard to get car parts. read more

I have purchased parts and returned parts with no hassle. They are vary reasonably priced. Only drawback is the lack of help when looking for parts or getting them from their yard. It's a good place to find used parts though. I think they should offer a tool rental program, especially for those that lack that one socket and have to drive all the way home to get it. Was told i could not be inside so i paid went outside for parts and was then told i couldn't be outside and had to go inside for a refund and was told i didnt pay and had to leave. I was able to prove i paid after being maskless inside for 25min and given a refund but couldn't buy parts. Some people that stupid dont need to be given any authority. Forced me to be inside where they didn't want me to be and lost sales. read more

Thieves work here. My husband left two tools behind on accident and went back right when they opened the next day and they were gone. He spoke to the manager and he stated that no one turned anything in and the employees do a sweep in the morning. Considering that he left at closing time the only logical conclusion is that one of the employees snagged it. What goes around comes around. read more

Have been to this Picknpull a couple of times, always new workers, except for "Randy" Today we came in & were rudely told to go back outside because the Capacity of 7 people. We stepped outside & 2 ladys walked to towards the Car sales departed and were not told to wait aside but we were. They will try to Nickle & Dime you for parts that are Sold Complete i. The System. Part that should of been $120 he Quoted over $300. When we told him the part is Sold as a set in the System, he basically said not to Question him that he knows what he is talking about, was he wasnt, as a every day customer i know the way they charge.. read more

I go to picknpull at least six times a year This picknpull has only been around less then a year but the staff here are great. I never really leave reviews but this time I really felt compelled to I was there on a weekday and it was hot .let it be known I have seen some very rude employees in the past at many off picknpull locations and happy lane is the best I go out of my way to go there verse any off there other locations.one reason is the staff up front seem to care that go out of there way to help get you in. And out but there is one employee that stands out to me that works the front counter for check out I believe his name was Randy the first time I went through his linoke he was very quick and moved the line right along I was impressed with how fast and efficient he was but I put if off as it's late there closing and wants to go home.but my last trip was last week and I went though Randy line again and got the same good treatment and it was a hot miserable day but once again Randy was friendly nice and understanding rare for this type of business so thanks again big guy RANDY it's a shame that all your employees are not like this thanks again for the good experience and a customer that will return read more

Good inventory, there are nicer cars available to be picked through, but once its 6:00 pm they are closed no matter what! Even if your in the yard or your standing in line, if the time turns 6, your no longer allowed to purchase what you pulled! This has happened a couple times now! maybe if this didn't happen to me twice i'd give them one or two more stars. Even when it comes to their customer service, it's decent, but they automatically assume that everyone is trying to steal something. The last time i was there, the guy in front of me was asked to remove his jacket to be searched. The guy was so offended he ended up walking out and they ended up losing money because of it. I think ultimately they're losing a bunch of money just by refusing to serve the public after closing hours. In my opinion if your in the yard or in line waiting to check out, they should still let you pay for the parts you pulled regardless if its after 6 pm. All the other junk yards in Sacramento do, so why can't they do it too?? If this issue changes, I'll change my review, but this is an issue i believe needs to be addressed so that changes can be made so that both the business and the customers end up with a better experience when doing business here. I had an appointment set for a PM pick up was told between 12-4. On the day of, a man with a tow truck shows up at my house at 7:30am, mind you they don't open until 9am, so I got really sketched out and concerned that some random guy was here to get my car. I was also asleep and noticed once I checked my camera after he had left. Waited until 9am to call about this and all I got was a bunch of rings and then 5 different times, someone answered and hung up on me. STAY AWAY!!!DECEPTIVE BS PRICING /HIDDEN FEES. Went in this am found a set of wheels I liked, so before I carried them all the way up front - in gravel that's like 6" deep- I thought I would call them up front to see how much the wheels would cost maybe save me a trip if they were too much. I was told on the phone that they were $21.99 each with tiires. No extra price on the tires was given, so I figured it was a fair price and after getting the wheels up front, she goes to ring me up, and tells me it's $173! ...???! What? Last time I checked $22 x 4 is $88 plus tax. She THEN tells me tires are extra. $20 a piece. At this point I was a little worn out from hauling the tires up, I just paid and left. So BEWARE OF HIDDEN CHARGES AND UP-PRICING hustle. I found a bumper for my car that I found on pick pulls website that was over 200 miles away. However, first I called to confirm if the car was there. A person named Randy answered the phone, and I requested if he could look up the car for me and see if the bumper was still on the car. He confirmed the car was still there, but said he couldn't look to see what parts were still available on the car, but I said please, just this one time! He said well, if I would look for your parts, then I would have to look for parts for everyone that calls, and that's against company policy. He sounded like tough guy Joe Pesci, but reasonable. I said well, okay! I hung up and called back to maybe convinced someone else there to look up my bumper. Nope, no luck, but a young lady said, take a gamble, you never know. So I did, and my parts were there. Not only did I get my bumper, I got friendly service, professional advice, and a discount. Because of being reminded of using my rewards card by Randy.
